UNLV 13 @ Minnesota 27

    2 Live Crew

    [IMG][IMG]

    1st Quarter

Minnesota runs the ball well on the first offensive possession but the drive stalls as they try to pass.

Minnesota gives up some plays on defense but sticks together in the red zone. UNLV decides to punt instead of kicking a field goal.

Theme of the quarter- dropped balls.

    2nd Quarter

    Minnesota holds good field position.

    J. Holmes barely hits a 41 yard field goal, 3-0.

Holmes goes on to add a 28 yarder to his season resume, 6-0 Gopher lead.

    3rd Quarter

The tenacious tandem of Jonathan Pittman & Hasan Lipscomb show up on the Gopher's first 2nd half possession. Pittman scores on a 8 yard run, 13-0.

UNLV marches back and gets inside the 5. UNLV scores on 3rd and goal to bring the game to 13-7 with 1:09 in the quarter to go.

    4th Quarter

Hasan Lipscomb matches Pittman for a touchdown of his own, 20-7.

UNLV goes for it on 4th and 1 inside their 30 and it pays off getting a big run. However, they turn it over on downs on a 4th and 4 from midfield.

Lipscomb puts a nail in the coffin as he takes it to the house 33 yards for a commanding 27-7 lead with 2:51 to go.

    Minnesota 34 @ Colorado 31

"Those guys deserved to win the game today!" -Lee Corso

    1st Quarter

CU comes down and scores. Couple stops but horrible defense by the Gophers.

Lipscomb shines again, breaking some tackles on his way to a 73 yard rushing touchdown to tie the game.

The Buffs score on an option to take the lead.

Pittman gets his first carry of the game. It looks nice but he fumbles. Coaches say he will be benched. The fumble leads to a scoop and score for a 21-7 CU lead.

    2nd Quarter

I guess it doesn't matter who runs the ball. Lipscomb erases his positive gains with a fumble of his own, CU scoops and scores that one too, 28-7 CU leads.

Minnesota puts together a nice fumble free drive. Lipscomb is hurt for a quarter.

Score is now 14-28 CU lead.

    3rd Quarter

Mr. Pittman, through his adversity, shines at his finest moment. Breaking a record for most rushing touchdowns in school history with his 41st on an 8 yard TD to bring the game close, 21-28.

    OT

Minnesota forces a sack on 3rd and 8 at our 11. CU takes the lead, 31-28.

Pittman! Goes on to score the game winner in OT! Gophers make a miraculous comeback after being down 28-7 at one point.

    Minnesota 16 @ #7 UCLA 10

In what many predicted a blow out, turned into probably the game of the year. This might have been the biggest win for the Minnesota Golden Gophers under Coach controllerabuser since he took over in 2009. Minnesota came in the heavy underdog but shot out to make it upset city. In a statement made by the head coach after the game, "I'm shocked, completely in awe. I knew we had a chance but didn't think we'd be able to pull it out. UCLA is a great team, but today we just got the breaks and managed to pull it out!" Fans are going crazy. In both cities, fans in California are pulling their hair out while fans in Minnesota are going nuts. Minnesota played the perfect game. They played equally with UCLA throughout the whole game. They might not have had as much yards as UCLA did but they were ball-hawkers. Kirk Roberson, true Freshman led the way with 11 tackles and 1TFL.

Hats off to ryty32, he is an amazing coach and I was glad to play him today! Good luck bud.

My initial summary was tossed out the window so I am not writing anything about the game. I am so pissed right now!

Adrian Ford shows his deep ball and accuracy connecting with John Moore for a 55 yard score!

    Northwestern 13 @ #16 Minnesota 14

The Gophers improve to 5-0 on the season, opening conference play with a win against Northwestern. Not a big day on the offensive side of the ball. Lipscomb is the only one who put up worthy stats. He went 21-108 for 1TD.

The Gophers now prepare for their biggest game on the schedule. #2 Penn State will come to TCF bank in Week 6.

    #1 Penn State @ #15 Minnesota

    Borrowed from cimmy

Penn State and Minnesota meet again for another dog fight amongst ranked and undefeated teams. Turnovers and injuries would consume the game and for the Golden Gophers, it would proove fatal. This Nittany Lions defense would again play outstanding football and hold Minnesota to 16 total points. They would also force 4 total turnovers, 2 fumbles and 2 interceptions, that would cripple the Gopher offense. The duo of Lipscomb and Pittman would proove ineffective against the Lions, as Linebacker U would hold Minnesota to 36 yards rushing, 31 for Lipscomb on 7 carries and 17 for Pittman on 5. Take away the -12 yards Ford would negate on 3 attempts. The PSU offense would play miraculous football as well. QB Tremayne Smith went 12 for 17 for 193 yards and 2 TDs, despite 2 interceptions. Smith would fine 6 different receivers, each catching the ball twice. TE Clarke and WR Woods would be the 2 TD recepients. HB Andrew Stovall would rush the ball 24 times for 88 yards and 2 scores. On defense, MLB Carroll would be the player of the game with 9 tackles, 1 interception, and a forced fumble. CB Willis and OLB Lumpkin would force the other 2 turnovers to secure a 35-16 win for Penn State as they continue their Big10 campaign against Purdue in Happy Valley, with 2 big games yet to be played. In the Valley against currently ranked #4 Iowa, and on the road against the 9th ranked Buckeyes of Ohio State.

Minnesota wins somehow some way to keep their Big Ten title hopes alive. Minnesota still has two big games left, against Iowa & their much hated rival Wisconsin.

    #12 Minnesota 14 @ Michigan State 6

Minnesota continues its journey through the Big Ten in East Lansing as it takes on Michigan State.

Minnesota would strike first after both teams had a try on offense. Minnesota would get out of their own end after Ford connected with Bryant Allen on a mismatch. Allen would then cap it off with a 20 yard TD. Michigan State marches right back. The Spartan QB would be sacked once, fumbles and intercepted inside the 10 yard line. They would eventually get the ball in the end zone on the following possession right before the half but the kicker misses the XP, 7-6. Michigan State would get the ball back after Minnesota couldn't do a damn thing. However, just when robo QB had his shine on, Will Gary, Gopher CB would steal it with a pick six, 14-6.

    TAKE THAT ROBO QB

    2nd Half
No scores would come in the 3rd & 4th Quarters.

    Gophers hammer the Hoosiers!

The Gophers come into this game ranked the highest ever since coach controllerabuser took the reigns. This game is the definition of a "trap game". As we take on the Hoosiers before traveling to Wisconsin(Emmdotfrisk) and then preparing for Iowa(H22APWRD94) at home. Up 21-14 at the half, the Gopher players were given a mouthful. What happened next is why this team is ranked the highest since CA's journey began, 5 years ago. Minnesota gets back to what it does best, run the pigskin. With Pittman gone for awhile, the Gophers looked for Hasan Lipscomb to carry the load and that he did.

My player of the game has to be Hasan Lipscomb. We got back to what we do best. Run the ball. The Big Ten runs the ball well. Moving us to 9-1(5-1) we hope that Lipscomb can do something similar in our next two games which happen to be against two tough user opponents. These numbers aren't against a good defense but they are still somewhat staggering. Normally, we don't run one player more than 20-25 times but those extra carries had to come while winding down the clock. I should have ran Jerry Tucker a little more. That takes nothing away from Lipscomb as he broke out today, severely.
