In the game preview between the 2 teams, it was talked about that whoever could get the run game going most likely would come out on top. That proved to be the case as the Colts came out stampeding in Indy.
The Colts took down the Broncos on Sunday by a score of 41-28. The Colts held both backs J. Dwyer and W. McGahee to under 62yds on 20 carries. On the other side, Donald Brown had remarkable day rushing for 170yds on 16 carries and 2 tds.
Right off the bat the Broncos came out and stood by the run on there first drive. The Colts had answers as they would stuff the run. Osweiler and Co. would keep on trucking, converting on 3rd downs to finally end there opening drive with a FG to go up 3-0. The Colts came firing back as they drove 80yds and capped off the drive with the first of 2 Donald Brown runs. On the Broncos next possesion the Colts would disguise a 3rd and long and force Osweiler to throw into coverage as Jerry Hughes would take an interception to the house to put the Colts up 14-3. The Broncos would add a fg and be down 14-6 at half.
The second half showed alot of adversity. The Colts kept the pressure coming on both sides of the ball as the Broncos had no answers for Brown nor Luck. Luck would hit Fleener for a long 78yd pass. The Broncos would continue to fight as D. Thomas turned a tipped ball into a complete circus catch, completing a 30yd pass on a 3rd and long to keep the hopes of the Broncos alive. Broncos would punch it in and play from behind the rest of the way as the Colts kept on bringing the heat. The Colts would force another 3rd and long pick 6, this time by Lefeged.
On the next kickoff, the Broncos proved to not give up as they took one to the house. As time was ticking with just under 3 minutes remaining. Luck hit Wayne over the middle on a crucial 3rd down. Donald Brown then ran in his 2nd td for the game, to put the Colts up for good.
Overall awesome game, had a blast playing. Happy to have played such a legit owner in Drew. Hell be a tough one in the upcoming seasons. GG Drew.
