Got this idea from Jerzey in the countdown thread. Thought it would be funny/neat for everyone to post who or what they wanted to be when they were growing up. I know a lot of us played football so if you're anything like me you idolized a football player. For me?

Later, in my college days, I wanted to be this guy....

If you were an unathletic white guy who loved basketball in the 90's, there wasn't a better role model than my boy Pax.

Like everybody else, I wanted to be like Michael.

I was a skinny kid that jumped well and my friends called me the White Jordan... When we were 14 or so we took pictures of ourselves dunking on a 9-foot rim and made outlines out of it for our own "jordan" logos.

This thread is going to be hilarious.

I was a Cowboys fan as a kid, but being a "Husky" kid I wanted to be Jerome Bettis.

This. I had a little nerf hoop in my room and when I was little I would watch the Bulls play and try to recreate what was happening in the game. I was also the skinny white kid that jumped well, but never got any cool nicknames :p We'd put the hoop down to around 8-9 feet and have dunk contests all the time. Unfortunately I never quite made it up to the 10 foot rim. My short ass can't quite jump that high. Only thing I've ever dunked is a tennis ball lol.

I'm a die hard Lions fan, but started to love the Cheesheads when they signed the "Minister of Defense"...

I had his jersey when I was like 11 and wore it out.

I was always a bigger dude, so holding out to be like Barry Sanders or any of the skill positions wasn't in the cards...

Overall though, Mickey Tettleton was probably my favorite... I played catcher in travel ball, and in practice and in neighborhood HR derbies, I always mocked his batting stance.

There's no two ways about it, I started chewing when I was like 13 because of him too... Not too cool in retrospect, but anyhow, growing up, I'd say he was my guy...

I'm too old school for this.

I wanted to be the QB for the Browns...and the first one I remember watching was this one.

He was a hero in Cleveland when I was a kid.

I always wanted to work at the NASA control center but you have to pretty much be a genius to do that.

But growing up i wanted to be Michael Jordan of course. Who didn't? It was either him or Chipper Jones for me.
