After a great first season in Serie C that included promotion in to Serie B, Hannover 96 is poised to push for another promotion this season. That wont be easy with the step up in class creates much more of a chance to drop more games than they did last season (2). With the signing of their manager Jugster there is no reason that the goal isn't within reach.
Included in Serie C promotion Hannover also was able to push into Quarterfinals in both the Open Tournament and the Coppa Tradizione. These were major accomplishments last season for an undermanned Hannover team. Losing in both of those games were to teams that went far in the tournament including losing to the eventual winner of Coppa. This season the expectation is to take a step up in class and improve on the results of last season. Expectations have been increased and rightly so.

No major changes this season compared to last season. Management did go out and pick up Didier YaKonan to help up front and the decision of who will start will be a game time decision every week. Between Joselu(10G, 3A) and YaKonan (10G, 1A) the offense will click up front as long as Lars Stindl stays healthy and is able to chip in as he did last season (10G, 7A).
Defensively Hannover is backed by the highest rated player on the team, Ron-Robert Zieler (12CS). In Serie C Hannover gave up the least amount of goals and had the most Clean Sheets. That might be much more difficult this season but once you set a bar the expectation is to pass it.

With the promotion to B with rivals wSeals9 and Kasper we see this season having many fireworks with many big tough, hard fought games. Fun and frustration is the norm and we wouldn't have it any other way!

Season 15 ended with Hannover led by manager Jugster getting promoted to Serie B. This was a great honor and alot of hard work by the manager and players on the pitch.
Today, not only is the promotion proof but it was noticed by the commissioners of how well Hannover did by announcing the top XI in the league. Hannover was suprised and blessed to have 2 members on the team. Lars Stindl was named as one of the top 4 mid fielders in the league. With the large names and quality teams in the league Stidl is surprised. He was the straw that stirred the drink. He gathered 10 goals and 7 assists. He didn't allow the change up top affect him as he fed the strikers time and time again.

Ron-Robert Zeiler was a very estatic winner of top Keeper within the league. He tied the league high with 12 clean sheets and gave up the fewest goals in Serie C. This wasn't expected from an over powered team coming into Serie C.

    Great job

Less than 1 week in and this season proves to be the most difficult one yet. Hannover lost their first Serie B game with a 90+ goal allowed on a header in the box. Swansea were the aggressors and played the better game. Swansea deserved to win so it didn't come as a sock to the players. Hannover looked rusty and unprepared. The coach vowed for that to not happen again this season.
After the loss Hannover was given a very tough draw in Coppa with the likes of PSV and Hamburg (both play in Serie A) in their grouping. Things aren't looking easier but that doesn't seem to bother the players.
Zeiler said "We play who is in front of us and give it our all. I don't care who it is. We go for it."
Spoken like a leader but is that a leader who is unaware of the tough competition or one that doesn't care?

2 Games into Coppa and Hannover has put themselves in perfect position to move on to the next round.
In week one Hannover 96's coach received a very workman like victory over Hamburg. Kiyotake (2 goals) and Andreasen (1 Assist and MOTM) lead the team on the pitch and almost willed a victory.
"Overall I was very happy with the victory over a really skilled team in Hamberg" the coach said. "More games to be played however. We haven't completed anything yet."
Hannover won the shots and shots on target by hefty margins (11 - 4 and 6 - 2) but barely won time of possision. The end result was a 4-1 pasting of Hamburg.
In week 2 Hannover played perennial favorite in coach Zikry and his new team PSV. Hannover won a couple games over PSV last season in Serie C but this is a much different team this time. Coming into the game coach Jugster decided to play keep away from PSV. It showed as PSV received the ball first and had a great shot on net within 3 minutes. Hannover was able to tighten the defense and limit the chances but with any good team and coach PSV had their opportunities (8 Shots and 3 on target).
The controlled passing game of Hannover frustrated PSV and that let to some open chances for YaKonan and Stindl.
"Coach had us prepared for this game and the game plan worked out really well" said Stindl.
The end result was a 2-0 victory and move Hannover into the group lead with 1 game left to play. Hannover should get through to the next round for the second straight season even though being in the "Group of Death" for the second season as well.
Great start but nobody remembers group winners. Only Coppa Champions so the goals have been raised.
