Post'em up boys!
JETS PULL AWAY LATE OVER RAIDERS
The narrative could have been a lot different if it wasn't for a 21-0 4th quarter for the Jets which made this win a much more comfortable feel then it was going into the quarter. The Jets squandered a few opportunities to score TD's in the 1st quarter, which ended up being FG's. That in return kept the Raiders within striking distance throughout the game. But timely takeaways and a very balanced offense ended up being the key in the 41-14 win.
Hill strikes a pose as he scores the 1st Jets TD on the yearThe aformentioned 1st quarter was all Jets as they jumped out to a 13-0 lead thanks to a INT on rookie QB Derek Carr, a long 51 yard TD pass to Stephen Hill and two Folk FG's. But Jet coaches were concerned over the missed opportunities to put touchdowns on the board. "This team will not quit based upon a quarter of bad luck," explained coach Rex Ryan. And he was right. The Raiders would open up the 2nd quarter scoring with a TD pass from Carr to Michael Crabtree (newest Raider) to cut the lead to 13-7. The Jets offense got tight in the 2nd, with Geno forcing some errant passes and the run game was shut down. Luckily the defense held it's ground and didn't let this Raider offense take the lead. With over a minute to go, the Jets offense ran it's 2 minute offense to perfection and Geno would get into a groove that would last him the rest of the game. He completed 5 for 5 passes on the drive, with the end result a perfect fade throw to Eric Decker to give the Jets a 20-7 lead going into the locker room.

It was a huge jolt to the team to go up 13 at half but going into the 3rd quarter, the offense began to sputter, only this time, missing out on key 3rd down plays. The defense though began to figure out the Raiders offense and started to contain a shifty Darren McFadden and a revitalized Maurice Jones Drew on the ground; that is until late in the 3rd when Carr hit Crabtree on a slant to cut the lead to 20-14.
Chris Johnson scores a TD in his 1st game as a Jet
This is when those FG's that should have been TD's started to worry the team. But on the next Jets drive to open the 4th, they would get a big play from their big play RB, Chris Johnson. Johnson would break two tackles, and stumble but regain his balance and run 51 yards to paydirt, which essentially broke the Raiders. After that Carr would throw two INT's in the 4th and the Jets would score 2 more TD's, one via Chris Ivory on a 6yd TD run and a Coples 15yd INT for a TD to put this game out of reach. "Today we showed the whole package and for the first game, this was a great way to start off the season," said Coach Rex Ryan.
Coples ends the scoring with a INT return for a TD thanks to "Snacks"

Ravens Rally, Knock Off Bengals 20-17
"We escaped! Cincy did everything right to win but our guys reached deep and snatched this victory. We have a lot of things to work on but every win is big in the National Football League. We're gonna have a tough division this year, so guys need to understand games like this are expected. We just have to push through it and keep fighting like we did today."
Redskins Defense Intercepts Texans 6 Times in 37-9 Win
In the season openers, the 2014 season got out to a dominating start as the Washington defense gave Texan QBs fits all game. CB David Amerson and LB Akeem Jordan each had 2 INTs to lead a great defensive performance. Pierre Garcon had 3 catches for 3 TDs to lead the offense. Next week will be the home opener for the Redskins vs the Jaguars.
38-3 W over Buffalo Not Too Satisfying for Bears
Coach MG after the game...
"Not too satisfied with our run game. We didn't get much going with Forte or James. Need to work on it. Also didn't like the interception Jay threw, Alshon needs to go fight for his QB and go after that ball. Lot of work to do but it was a good start, good luck to the Bills the rest of their season."
Where are the rest of the summaries? I thought we were only waiting on a few games...
GREEN BAY WINS GAME OF THE WEEK IN OT THRILLER
Down by three on 4th and 18 with time winding down, Aaron Rodgers throws a deep ball down the sidelines in desperation and Jordy Nelson comes down with it. Leaving the Seahawk faithful stunned.
Mason Crosby kicks the game tying field goal to send the game into OT where the Pack went on to win 16-13.
Falcons come away with a hard fought win. It was a story of SURPRISING Defensive Domination!
As you can see NO out gained the falcons by nearly 100 yards. But, it was the 5 turnovers, 1 for a TD that cut those drives off near the redzones.
The Falcons are looking at a fairly balanced attack on Offense.
"We were great on turnovers, but we need to do better at keeping the ball in front of us. I want to see the Linebacking Core leading us in tackles. NOT our DBs!
Good stuff _MG_ ...great video!
Great Video HotRod Skins are looking tough on D
Great video JerzeyReign !!
when you look at those two pics for the first time it looks like one, and they are jumping above the pile. LOL.

Vikings Battle Back For Win
Bridgewater has solid day, aside from throwing 2 picks.
The Rams were able to contain AP but not when it mattered most. With the clock ticking under 30 seconds, the Vikings lined up at the 1 yard line. Facing an 0-1 start, Bridgewater handed the ball off as AP took it up the gut for a 1 yard TD! The St. Louis fans were shocked. After being up all game, the Vikings had marched back to take the lead with a Blair Walsh XP. With under 30 seconds left, Sam Bradford and the Rams took the field. After not forcing any turnovers all game, Xavier Rhodes grabs his first INT of the season which gives the Vikings a 1-0 start heading into next week's match-up against the New England Patriots and Coach G_T_G.

Rhodes pulls down INT to give the Vikes their 1st W!
AARON RODGERS GOES DOWN, JETS CRUISE TO 2-0
Undoubtedly, the story of this game will be the injury to star QB Aaron Rodgers. In the first quarter after completing a pass to Randall Cobb, Damon "Snacks" Harrison took down Rodgers and unfortunately, Rodgers didn't get up. It wasn't much of a dirty play from all angles but the star QB fell awkwardly on his throwing shoulder and immediately yelled in pain. It was revealed that Rodgers suffered a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder and would be out 4 weeks.
Rodgers yelled in pain after the hit
After that, the Packers were a bit shell shocked. Despite them finishing off their 1st drive to a FG, they never recovered as backup QB Scott Tolzien came in and was mostly ineffective on the game. The Jets would impose their will on the Packers without their leader. Tolzien will be having nightmares about the Jets defense but most notably, CB Kyle Wilson. Wilson, the much maligned CB, made two big time INT's covering the Packers best WR in Jordy Nelson and effectively shutting him down on the game. In total, the defense amassed 4 interceptions off Tolzien and only allowed yards in the air.
Wilson finally played like a top CB in the game today, picking off two Tolzien passes
The offense meanwhile showed it's big play ability all game. Geno Smith was on target throwing for over 300 yards forr the first time this season but connected with the big play guy in this offense, #84, Stephen Hill. Hill would torch the GB secondary twice on the game scoring on his only two receptions for yards and 2 TD's.
Hill's downfield speed made a huge difference in the game
After the game, Coach Rex Ryan was pleased with how his team performed tonight. "I know a lot of people may discredit this win because Rodgers was hurt early in the game but still, we had to play against a QB we didn't study for, and for us to keep our composure and finish the task at hand was key. I was happy to see the offense have some big play ability there...Stephen Hill provided a huge spark...and the defense, well, they simply played a great game out there, I really couldn't have asked for more."
