Surprise, Surpise - Weave has Josiah Young in the Heisman race, currently sitting at #4 behind Eddie Lacy (HB Alabama), Jordan Wynn (QB Utah), and Silas Redd (PSU HB). How amazing would it be for a UTEP player to win the Heisman for I am guessing the 1st time in history. Josiah Young has 1230 yards on 173 rushing attempts with an impressive 7.1 yds per rush and 341 yards after first hit. No site of Orleans Darkwa of Tulane with 1475 yds rushing (#1 yards in the nation) Sam McGuffie from Rice with 1406 yards(#2), Jordan Hopgood of BG with 1309 yards rushing (#3), nor A Johnson of SJSU with 1195 yards rushing (#5 behind Josiah Young). It seems you need to be a decent team to have a shot at winning the Heisman. However, the Awards system is screwy on this game. No site of Orleans Darkwa or Hopgood as finalists for the Doak Walker. Nice to see Silas Redd on the Heisman list. I truly believe he can be a Heisman type player after only watching him as a freshman for one season. The guys got moves and speed. He might be PSUs best back since Kijana Carter back during that dominant 94 team with Kerry Collins leading the way, and PSUs had some good backs since then, notably the leading PSU rusher in history, Evan Royster (though he didnt have near the moves or speed as Redd).
