Help me adopt a team

  1. Help me adopt a team

So I always do my offline Dynasty with N.D. That's a given. It is hard to see a lot of teams here in Colorado and the games we do see are usually pac 10 teams. I try to watch the big dogs of the SEC and Big 10 when I can.

I need help picking a team to use for an offline dynasty and maybe online for some games. I want a team with history. I want a team with a huge following. I want a team that I can get behind and cheer for during the season. I want a team I can learn about. I will also download their music so I can get into the event. I would also like a stadium with history.

Some teams that crossed my mind are...

    Georgia
    Alabama
    Auburn
    Ohio State
    Iowa

No Big 12 teams since I see them all the time here.

Big 10 - SEC - ACC and possibly Pac 10.

    Thoughts?

Teams ruled out probably from my N.D blood...
    USC - Michigan - Purdue

    Penn St......JOE!!!!!!

  3. Being Italian I grew up liking Joe-Pa. I have played with Penn St before a few times. Good suggestion. They are a possibility.

If you want a decent challenge try winning the SEC with Arkansas. They have some good rivalries including LSU and Texas.

Not sure if you'd play the style of offense that the team you took over uses, but Auburn's playbook and offense is really fun to play with. Lots of spread + the wildcat along with some other really fun stuff.

Plus, them or maybe Arkansas probably have the hardest realistically achievable uphill battle in the SEC (unless you wanted to play Vandy...)

  7. Hmm lots to think about. Thanks gents.

University of Minnesota 5 Reason why....

    #5 6 National Championships

#4 Brand New Stadium....even though the state made it dry. No more Metrodome.

#3 6 Players have finished in the top 3 of the Heisman voting with one winner.

#2 Glen Mason is no longer associated with the program.

#1 How can you not pick a team with a mascot like this......Goldy approves your choice.

I'll see your Goldy and raise you a Brutus - the best mascot in the game!

I hear ya on that! I've lived in Fort Collins for the past 9 years and it sucks trying to watch my Wolverines out here. That was until I discovered the greatest channel in history, the Big Ten Network. Of course that doesn't help you with ND at all, but at least ND owns a network (NBC) so you should be fine I'd think.

I wish that the SEC would follow the Big 10's lead for once. Big 10 network is cool as hell.

    A hairless nut at that!

  14. True, I do get to see all ND games but the Big 10 Network may help in my decision. I want a team I can follow. I assume you are not a CSU fan?
    I am a CU guy myself. :)

The Big Ten Network is awesome! I grew up in Wisco and now live in Phoenix so it's nice to follow the Badgers and also a little college hockey. I think Ohio St.'s squad is looking to be very good in a few years.

Not really. I haven't gotten into any Colorado teams, although I work with a fair number of CSU grads (and my wife went to CSU for a year before transferring to UNC).

    Florida State

should follow the Florida State Seminoles and there rise back to a national power. It should take a few more years, but its started.

    Bobby Bowden
Head Coach in waiting Jimbo Fisher
Doak Campbell stadium- one of the longest unbeaten streaks in college football
    the Unconquered
    ties to the Seminole tribe
