Just so you know, you won't see your names at the bottom of the forums as moderators anymore. But, I was able to grant the TMFL management team usergroup moderator permissions to your entire forums. Wasn't able to do this in our old software.

I'm getting used to the new tools. Hopefully this means more customization and flexibility in the future.

As always, if you need anything at all, let me know.

Dude you are the MAN! Thanks for all the hard work. A forum migration of this size is impressive!

On a side note we are transitioning toward a merge/assimilation of the TMFL and SMFL. which was initiated by the SMFL when HotRot stepped down as TMFL commish. Due to RL Ryno was brought in someho-- and we have a moratorium to merge by November 1st if possible. So as long as everyone can work together-- the management "team" will have some turnover. but for now I'm pretty sure I am the only TMFLer reading this.

Yeah Randy I asked Drifter to add you before you so unkindly turned us down for a COLLEGE league. What can I say. season 1 is not over, so you have to pull your weight until Novemeber.

Seachicken - TMFL Goat Herder. Very nice, that's exactly what this is.

We beg people to post on the forum that they are interested, then its back to the norm. I think this should be combined into 1 league of people who are have what it takes to contribute. Even if you cannot fill 32 teams, so what. Everyone has busy lives, and this is what makes the NCAA ODs appealing. You may run through a season and only have 3 user games. It's no big deal, and it should be the same for Madden. I don't think this will work any other way than you really looking at your list and giving careful consideration to people who build on the TF values.

Pretty sure that is the plan...I think there are at least 26-28 active guys between the two leagues. Pepper sounds like he will rejoin as well, so that is a plus.

    Guys,

I had Hack set us up an archive so we can start cleaning things up around here. I figured I would enlist your guys' help to decide whats the proper way to organize the archive. Ideas?

Do you guys have the ability to sticky threads? I tried doing this with the CPU Controlled Team thread in the game scheduling forum, but it gave me a 403 - Forbidden error.

When you figure this out (swamped today at work and have not even looked into), we should elect 1 person to doing the archives. Having dual efforts archiving things will only make things worse as everyone will share different views. This person should have free reign for all archival threading and can always ask on items they are unsure of.

Try your moderation stuff now guys. You have to check the checkbox at the bottom of a post or to the side of the thread.

Oh! Also, there is no organization in an archive. It's a vault for everything that is old. Which is precisely the reason why I don't know why anyone needs one in the first place. Why not just let it the stuff in the main forum slide into the abyss? Makes it easier to search for later. I guess I'm one of the only ones that feels that way.

I renamed yours. It said "dynasty archive". This is obviously not a dynasty.

I'm in agreement, it archives itself, so what's the point.

Because I'm a stickler for "out with the old, in with the new?" Its the best I could come up with.

This is a great point. otherwise we run into a lot of forum instability. I de-Nominate Keller, because his brain works too fast.

Yeah, with him everything a day old would be archived. There would be 2 items in the TMFL...
    1. TMFL Archive
    2. TMFL Management
And no new posts since all other team owners could give a F

Archiving will be valuable for forums that are heavily date driven, (like game scheduling). Although, it might be one of those things where we choose to delete useless stuff. However deleting threads is something that has to be heavily structured. I'm sure we have been in leagues where unpopular posts got deleted, or edited when they didnt support management opinion. That is never something I support. Deleting porn is one thing. The other problem with deleting is that you effect members post counts, and some guys see that as a big deal. So archiving does have its place.

I'm with Drifter...disused posts will float to the bottom naturally....I don't mind sub-forums to help delineate content, but having one that no one will ever go to is pointless, IMO.

The more sub forums we add the more work it is for the software to do it's job well.

Lol, I never wanted to do it anyways assholes!

I do want to clean house though, matter a fact I've been itching to clean up this mess. Essentially heres what I envisioned though.

Port over SMFL stickied threads - I will decide which stay and which go. They need re-working to be sure - along with a discussion about those rules etc. But thats another topic.

Archive all TMFL rules but keep them stickied - they will probably prove to be useful.
Archive every other thread in the TMFL. Just move them ALL to the archive. Old games recaps and scheduling, old main forum posts. MOVE IT ALL.

Just explain your rational that creating a sub-forum no one will visit is preferable than letting them slide off the main page.

It has to involve something besides OCD.

Rationale is simple. Old TMFL - New TMFL. Old balls goes into the archive. New hotness takes over old balls place.

Now, if for some reason, I wanted to look for specific Old TMFL stuff, I search the archive. If I'm looking for new hotness, I search the usual places.

Old balls and new hotness don't mix well together. Makes sense to me at least.

    Shaun stop hatin!

I'm not hating, this is a recurring discussion.

At some point we need to standardize what is best practice. IMO, this isn't it. Keep in mind we get this request from every league at some point.
