The Redskins are all too familiar with the Seahawks in their most recent playoff history. Unfortunately those matchups ended with the Seahawks bouncing Washington out of the playoffs. This time around a trip to the NFC Championship was at stake. This would appear to be a pressure packed game in one of the most difficult stadiums to play in. Seattle would get the ball first and put together a nice drive together avoiding 3rd downs until getting into the redzone where the Redskins would tighten up and surrender only a field goal. On the Redskins first drive it was looking like the Skins would answer back with points of their own when Roy Helu Jr would get the ball knocked loose and the Seahawks would return it for a TD putting the home team up 10-0. After failing to convert a third down on their next offensive drive, Washington was running the risk of falling into a deeper hole on the road. This ended up being the turning point in the game as the defense would settle down and begin a dominant stretch in which they would not give up any more points until the 4th quarter. In this period of time RGIII would get hot in what would be a career day in passing yards. He started out completing his first 9 passes in the game and it seemed like his receivers were getting wide open every play. Midway through the 2nd quarter Roy Helu would punch in a 1 yd TD run to make the score 10-7. After another stop by the Redskins defense, RGIII hooked up with Pierre Garcon on a post with no safety help and outran the defense for the TD and the Redskins would take the lead and never look back.
Another long TD pass connection from Griffin to Josh Morgan gave Washington a 21-10 lead at the half. Russell Wilson has his struggles all game no thanks to his receivers who drop upwards to 9 passes in the game. However Wilson was not sharp himself as he threw 3 interceptions, two of which were hauled in by MLB Perry Riley. The Redskins were unable to punch the ball into the endzone in the second half and settled for a few field goals but it ended up being more than enough as Seattle wasn't able to put together much offense until very late in the game. The final score of the game would be 33-18 and the Redskins head to Minneapolis for their first NFC Championship game since 1991, the year their last Super Bowl win.
Robert Griffin III: 23-30, 444 yds, 2 TD
Josh Morgan: 6 catches, 155 yds, TD
Pierre Garcon: 5 catches, 109 yds, TD
    Brian Orakpo: 7 tackles, sack
Perry Riley: 6 tackles, 2 INT
    Russell Wilson: 13-28, 117 yds, 3 INT
Marshawn Lynch: 7 carries, 22 yds
Doug Baldwin: 3 catches, 27 yds

Ouch, watching that highlight video was painful. GG man, I've gotta figure out something on offense for this squad. They all entered the game with cold streaks, and the drops certainly didn't help. Good luck in the playoffs.
