Week 2 Recap Bush runs circles around Cards as Cards fall to 0-2. Rams dismantle the Falcons D and run for 228 yards on their way to a 41-21 lead. They also take 1st place in the NFC west. 49ers shockingly blow through the hawks in their own house. Gore ends up running 125 yards and 2 TDs on only 10 carries but he ends up getting hurt it is not yet know when he will return.
QB issues in Arizona? With Carson Palmer taking over the QB spot in the offseason it was thought he would greatly improve the Cards O but this doesn't seem the case. He has only thrown for 217 yards and 4 INTs. It seems like upper management is leaning towards giving 33 year old Palmer one more start and if things do not works out they will look to 2nd year QB from SD State Ryan Lindley.
Giants get 1st Win of the season in Manning Bowl 3 (AP) East Rutherford, NJ - The NY Giants came into week 2 knowing they would face the Hype of Manning Bowl 3 where Eli has always been shown that is in fact the little brother where Peyton has disected the Giants defense. The Giants come into the game where Tony Romo had his way with the Giants and this week looked to be even more difficult. The Giants came in with a plan to keep the ball away from Peyton and limit his offensive possessions. The Giants were able to do that as they controlled the clock for over 18 minutes while David Wilson and Andre Brown combined for over 150 rushing yards and 3 TD's. Peyton Manning was a perfect 11/11 but the Giants were very physical sacking Peyton 4 times and hitting his receivers as soon as they would catch the ball. An early turnover where Wes Welker was popped by Jon Beason and recovered by Terrell Thomas seemed to be the difference maker as that turnover led to a Giants TD and a 2 possession game. Peyton and the Broncos after trailing 21-0 would come back to make it interesting but would never get closer then 14 points as the Gmen walk away with a 28-14 victory. Eli having a little fun with his bigger brother finally defeating him after the game but Peyton saying he had to let Eli win at leat 1 time before he retired. Got to love the sibling rivalry.
dont worry, i just got murdered for the 2nd time vs the cpu. Read option cheese by the cpu with cam newton and deangelo williams. I rather just take a damn sim vs the cpu at this rate. I got lucky beating denver but even in that game Peyton completed every pass
Off The Slide The Philadelphia Eagles won their first game, 21-17 over the Chiefs, and became the last NFC East team to register a win. Though they still look up to the rest of the division a win will help with their confidence as they continue to improve. Rumors have become swirling that Michael Vicks could get some first team reps this week as Nick Foles continues to throw poorly. No official word has come from Coach Kelly and if you've been following this team at all, don't expect one.
Gio Gio Gio Giovanni Bernard rushes for over 150 yards in his Minnesota debut. Unfortunately he does not play defense. Vikings end up losing a thriller
NFC North Looks to be Competitive with 3 teams at 3-0 With just 3 games into the year, the NFC North looks to be competitive throughout the year. Aaron Rodgers has been playing at a high level throwing for over 800 yards with 7 Tds in that time span. The Detroit Lions have been putting a ton of points on the board, averaging 30 points per game which is good enough for 3rd in the league. The Bears are playing great defense so far this year, only allowing 34 points, averaging 11 points per game against them. The yardage has been there for the Vikings offense, but they just can't get things rolling on defense allowing 97 points thus far, averaging 32 points against them. Should be a good, competitive season in the NFC North all year long, with even possibly 3 teams making the playoffs.
The Human Spark? Coach Chip Kelly has made a surprising move this week as he's announced that Michael Vick will be the starter vs. Denver. "Nick is still in our long term plans and he could very well play this week. You never know. With our offense not moving as efficiently as I'd like, I think its time to see if Vick can jolt the offense a little."
Eagles Add Tight End The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to a one year deal with tight end Ben Hartsock today. Hartsock will be third on the depth chart but we will see plenty of snaps as his blocking (89 IBL; 87 RBK) skills are above average for a player that plays his position. Tight end Emil Igwenagu was released to make room on the Philadelphia roster.
Cards Acquire TJ Graham Some Cards fans may wonder why they traded their top MLB Daryl Washington. When Arizona's GM John Krobot was asked he responded "We feel Graham adds something our WR core doesn't have and thats speed. We feel he can develop into a star WR. The cards also received the Bills #1 picked for this year which now looks like it we be used to replace the departed Washington.
Vikings had two players come in for tryouts: Veteran HB Micheal Turner LB/DE Martez Wilson It's being reported both players will be offered a contract.
