Can't have a bye and not make any changes. The coaching staff got together after watching some film and decided to make the following roster changes effective immediately. Denard Robinson will now be the second string RB behind MJD. Veteran Brad Meester has been replaced by 1st year man Mike Brewster. The OC wants to see if the younger stronger guy can get the job done, if so, this change could be permanent. Derrick Morgan will get the nod at RE, with Babin going to LE behind Alualu. There are rumors running around the locker room that FA acquisition Sherrod Martin is being pressed by Chris Prosinski for the starting FS position. Martin was brought in because the staff didn't think Prosinski could cut it. Word is that he has been making some strides in practice and might get to see some extended time on the field.

Indianapolis - On this slow afternoon just hours before the next advance of HK-NG there is breaking word coming out of the Colts camp. First it is being reported and was confirmed bu the Colts owner that Indy and SS Antoine Bethea have agreed on a new contract extension that will keep him in a Colts uniform for least 4 more years.

But in other news it is being reported by several sources that the Colts offensive coordinator, Pep Hamilton, will not be retained at the end of the season. Hamilton before coming to Indianapolis spent the last three seasons at Stanford University (2010-12), his last two as the team’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He worked closely with current Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. When asked to confirm Head Coach Chuck Pagano directed all questions to the front office saying "I cant discuss those type of things, that is what the front office handles". When pressed Coach Pagano would say "It is obvious we are not were any of us in this organization want to be on offense and that falls on me along with the front office to correct". When asked the owner of the Colts would only say "every aspect of this organization will be re-evaluated at the end of the season. And if we need to make changes we will, but right now we are focused on trying to win our last few games before the season end".

Jags got the word today that star running back Maurice Jones Drew will be back for 3 more years. He just walked in this morning and signed his contract after a little bit of haggling. The details of his is 3 years 11.1 million with a 4.2 million dollar signing bonus. This is good news to the franchise as they try to build on a roster that many saw as lacking in talent. " I am proud to say that I am a Jaguar. I would like the thank the organization for this opportunity to stay and possibly retire here", said MJD in an impromptu press conference. With the RB situation solved for a little while the GM can focus on other needs for the team going forward.

Indianapolis - Despite having one of their better offensive performances that Colts today parted ways with offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton. When asked after today's win over Houston, Coach Pagano said "despite the improvement we saw the past few weeks we felt it was in our best interest to part ways". When asked if he had a replacement in mid Coach Pagano would only say "we have talked with several people and we feel we have some in the works. I cant say who right now but I should be able to discuss it more once the season ends and the bowl games are over".

Sam Baker released. - GM Kimura released a statement thanking Baker for the years he has given the falcon orginization protecting Matt Ryan's blind side, but with upcoming cap hits of 5,6,7,7+ million over the next 4 seasons the team decided they had to get younger and use that money to fill some holes.

    Colts Hire New Offensive Coordinator

Indianapolis - The Colts today released a statement to the media announcing that they had agreed to terms and have hired Chris Ault to be their new offensive coordinator. Ault who has 233 career wins spent over 20 years at Nevada as head coach and this past year in Kansas City as a consultant agreed to come to Indy and help revive the struggling Colts offense. Ault who is known for developing the pistol offense will hope to bring an offense that effectively use power run plays, counters along with using three-wide receiver formations or multiple tight ends. The Colts are expecting this diversified offense to help support their defense which developed into one the leagues best and led the Colts back to the playoffs.

Mike Shanahan loses power struggle in Washington, Redskins' coach fired
    [?IMG]

Shanahan on the sidelines with his former QB for the last time

    [?IMG]
Landover, MD | Mike Shanahan is out as the Washington Redskins' coach and executive vice president. The team fired him after a meeting Monday morning, one minute after the Redskins finished a controversy-filled 6-10 season after winning the division in the previous year.

"Redskins fans deserve a better result," owner Carl Turner said in a statement issued by the team. "We thank Mike for his efforts on behalf of the Redskins. We will focus on what it takes to build a winning team, and my pledge to this organization and to this community is to continue to commit the resources and talent necessary to put this team back in the playoffs."

Would Art Briles be a good fit for the Redskins?

Briles sticking the blade in a deadman's back....they smile in your face, all the time....they wanna take your place!
Breaking News out of Landover.... Art Briles is said to be the front runner for the coaching vacancy in Washington. It's possible, in the sense of the recent success and jumps of other well known amateur football coaches, i.e. Chip Kelly....The Skins' are no stranger to stranger HC hires. One would need only look back at the previous Schneider regime to find at least 2 head scratchers, Jim Zorn, Steve "The Ole' Coach" Spurrier. Mr. Turner may do the same and take a chance on that offensive genius to come and reunite with the QB that they gave up soo much for. Currently, RG3 hasn't produced, and has been in rumored trade talks all season. Sources close to the situation say that Briles is happy with his 4.5 million at Baylor, but if he were to receive a Shanahan's Ransom (7 Million a yea), he would definitely take the opportunity to bring his style of offense to the Professional ranks.

Titans are Breaking Ties to Munchak

    [?IMG]
After a horrendous season and looking at a top pick in the draft, the Titans new Owner has parted ways with Mike Munchak and are looking to keep their base 4-3, but looking to change up the offense a little bit. The coaching opportunities are out there and many guys looking for jobs, Titans are going to shop for the best fit as they redefine their offense over the next couple of weeks. Plans of keeping Locker are still there, but with the top pick in the draft many are scratching their heads on where the Titans are going with the first pick. With little to no scouting being done with the new owner this pick could be the bust of the century. More to come as news evolves.

    F I R E D!!!!!!

Lets just face it........ he sucks! This team has underacheived for his entire tenure in Detroit. You probably wouldn't know it, but the defense is actually rated better than the offense. However, with that being said, the defense is the worst statistically in the league this year in every major category. He has lost this team and some stability needs to be restored!!! More to come......

    BREAKING NEWS

    [?IMG]

Rob Chudzinski steps in to replace Art Briles. One day on the job and Briles calls it quits. CEO Carl Turner moved quickly and interview the recently fired Chudzinski, who was a fan favorite in Cleveland. Mr. Turner was impressed and overpaid for him,5 mill a year, in hopes that no other owner would try to steal the unproven coach. Chudzinski is an expert in WR, QB HB, OLB progression, which are all the areas Washington has young talent. Chudzinski signed on knowing that OC and DC are staying for at least two years, but he would have final say so over player personnel.

Zac Taylor hired as Falcons new OC -
GM Kimura has given Mike Smith another year to turn this disaster of a team around, and Mike Smith's first call of business was getting a OC that fits the personal. With the offensive line lacking it was time to move on from the power run game and utilize all the weapons this team has. Although Taylor is young and actually played QB at Nebreska at the same time Matt Ryan was at Boston College, he has experience at the position.

    Key Points
-QB friendly OC, will work in tandem with Ryan to cut back on the INTs
-Going from a power running game to zone.
-3 WR sets and getting our play makers the ball in space.

    MESSING WITH YA HEAD

Media in Cincy Reported the hiring of a new Offensive Coordinator yesterday. It Was a false report, Smoke Screen for the real hire. GM Derek Coates is from Arkansas and went with a Arkansas Connection. Chris Klenakis, he was the Offensive Line coach for a few years for the razorbacks. But the real reason, he brought the pistol to the Razorback Offense. He was the O line coach for several years a none other than Nevada! The Pistol will be the offense the Bengals go with this year. A down hill running attack is what we are looking for, and the pistol gives us that with some room to wiggle!

    ery
    Chris Klenakis
    Courtesy: cyclones.com
    Release: 04/09/2024
Chris Klenakis, most recently the offensive line coach for three seasons at Arkansas, was named to the same position at Iowa State under Cyclone head coach Paul Rhoads in January. Klenakis has 23 years of Division I experience and came to Arkansas from Nevada. At Nevada, as offensive coordinator he was at the helm of the "Pistol" offense that was prolifically productive, featuring a powerful running game led by the offensive line and, from 2007-09, current San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

In 2012, Klenakis coached an offensive line that was third in the SEC in pass offense. His Razorback line allowed the third-fewest sacks in the SEC. Travis Swanson was named as an all-conference offensive lineman under Klenakis' coaching last season.

Klenakis led an offensive line that replaced three starters from 2010 and featured two players who made their first start of their collegiate career in 2011 to block for a UA offense that set or tied 16 school records. Arkansas led the SEC in passing offense (300.7), total offense (438.1) and scoring offense (36.8) to become just the fifth different school to lead the conference in all three categories in a single season and the first since Florida in 2001. The Razorbacks topped the conference in passing offense for the third straight season and became the second SEC team since 1992 to lead the conference in passing offense for at least three straight seasons.

In 2010, Klenakis helped lead the Razorbacks to their first BCS Bowl (Sugar) in school history and UA boasted the top running back rusher and leading passer in the SEC.

Quarterback Tyler Wilson led the SEC in passing yards and total offense per game, while receiver Jarius Wright topped the conference in receiving yards per game in 2011. Guard Alvin Bailey was named an All-American by Pro Football Weekly.

Klenakis has coached 17 offensive linemen who have advanced to the NFL. As offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, he has tutored 14 all-conference selections, including 2010 first-team All-SEC performer DeMarcus Love. Klenakis has coached in 12 bowl games and in two NCAA Division I-AA playoffs.

In 2008 at Nevada, the Wolf Pack offense steamrolled over opposing defenses to the tune of a number of school records, including total offense, rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. In 2009, Klenakis and the offense eclipsed all those marks. Klenakis was the first coordinator in NCAA Division I history to coach an offense that led the nation in rushing (2009) and passing (1997) during his career.

The Wolf Pack had three 1,000-yard rushers during their record-setting 2009 season, the only school in NCAA history to feature a trio of players to reach the 1,000-yard mark on the ground.

Prior to his most recent stint as offensive coordinator at Nevada, he was offensive coordinator at Southern Mississippi (2000-02) and spent one year at Central Missouri (2003). Klenakis is a former two-time Nevada High School Coach of the Year.

Klenakis earned his bachelor's degree in physical education and history from Carroll College in 1986, where he was a four-year letterwinner as an outside linebacker. In 1992, he completed his master's of exercise physiology at Nevada. He has a son, Nikos, and a daughter, Lucy.

Rumors are swirling that the Bengals who lost in the 1st round of the playoffs may be looking at a Defensive Change.
The Bengals had a Bottom Half Defense this season, and are looking to improve that area.

the jets would like to welcome a new head, "mike (munchies) munchak is a new, upstart head coach that did not get a fair shake with other organizations" owner Smith had to say

" we made a offer to our long time head coach (sexy rexy) rex ryan, but in a return text he told us to..." stick this job where the sun don't shine fu&ko!!""

moving forward, the jets have also signed todd haley, and will bring his offense to NewYork. "with Geno Smith we can do a lot of different things, while not just mobile, also a deceptive passer. the number one thing we will all work on is working towards cutting back the turnovers."

    -Houston,TX

The Houston Texans announced the firings earlier this month of HC Gary Kubiak, DC Wade Phillips, and OC Rick Dennison. Owner Cade Petty has decided to clean house and change the culture in Houston. In his first order of business, Petty wanted to bring in a respectable coach around league who has a track record for winning. The prime candidates were Marvin Lewis, Jeff Fisher, John Harbaugh, and college coaches Mack Brown/Brian Kelly.

The Houston Texans are proud to announce today that they have agreed to terms with coaching legend-

    Jimmy Johnson

Jimmy Johnson will step down from Fox as a broadcaster and accept a 3yr 38million dollar deal with the Houston Texans. At the age of 71, Johnson knows his time to coach is brief. He wanted to step into a team with potential to add to his 2 Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys. Not many coaches have the resume like Jimmy from Miami Hurricanes to the Dallas Cowboys. As an analyst with Fox, he has seen the NFL and been able to break down film. He believes he is ready to step back into football. Petty expressed how big of a fan he is of Johnson, growing up as a Cowboys fan and seeing him raise the Lombardi gave him great respect of Johnson. The question is has the NFL changed too much for Johnson and how long will he stay. One bad season with the Texans and we could see Jimmy bail.
