    Preseason Position Battles
Lets use this thread to post some of the big battles on your team. Whether your No. 3 WR, Starting QB or your last spot to make the team. Lets keep this going to the last Preseason game to create some buzz on who starts or makes the team.

ROLB: Aaron Maybin or Bryan Thomas
Both guys create excellent pass rush for the Jets but only one can start along side Calvin Pace. They have both played the majority of the first two preason games even in the 4th quarter. Coach Petty and the defensive coaching staff have a difficult decision to make for the opening game. Whether to go with the younger Maybin ('11-6sacks) or the vet Bryan Thomas.
Early Prediction: Aaron Maybin wins the job because of his pass rushing skills.

Biggest position battle on my team is for backup running back. Kendall Hunter and LaMichael James each had a good performance in the first preseason game, and that is pretty much who it is down to as Brandon Jacobs will be used as a short yardage/goalline back if he makes the 53 man roster.

Broncos have been leaning hard toward starting Hillman, Coach says he need to improve on his carry rating before he is a every down back

    Titans Camp Battles
    WR: Battle for Backup
Damien Williams has always been a reliable name for Tennessee but with the emergence of James Kirkendoll and Michael Preston. Names like Lavelle Hawkins and Damien Williams could be on the out. As of now though Williams and Preston are front runners while Hawkins and Kirkendoll are on the bubble.
    DE's: Backups
Dave Ball may be one of the highest rated DE's on Titans roster but may fail to make the team. Ball is a guy that has not shown anything in camp. Rookie Solomon from Rice has destroyed this preseason and will easily make the roster.
    FS: Starting spot
Michael Griffin is a great player for Titans but rookie Markelle Martin in 1 game and 2 practices has showed coaches enough to secure his number 2 spot.

The only position battle we have in Houston is for the slot WR position with Bryant Johnson and Rookie Posie. But rumor has it that there could be a new wr coming to Houston for week 3 of the preseason.

    Cowboys Position Battles
    Slot WR

The battle between Kevin Ogletree, Dwayne Harris and Cole Beasley continues to heat up this preseason. So far Beasley has been the biggest contributor but his lack of size does worry the Cowboys Front Office.

    Defensive End

There are two spots up for grabs. This preseason DE Ty Crawford has performed well, recording 3 sacks last game against San Diego. The big question is will the Cowboys want to pay Spears and Coleman or will they release them to the open market.

    Free Safety

Coming into camp, Gerald Sensabaugh was the clear favorite. Yet that has changed with the emergence of Matt Johnson. Johnson has been pushing for playing time this training camp and he may well get it come week 1.

Only position battle for Buffalo is at 3/4 WR.

David Clowney would be a sure #3, he leads with 5 catches. He has fumbled 2x in 2 games. This gives hope to local talent Naaman Roosevelt and Donald Jones as well.

    POSITION BATTLES
    #3 #4 Wide Receiver
Derrick Williams has an inside track on the #3 spot which would bump Jerricho Cotchery down to the #4. Jimmy Young could have a say in that along with David Gilreath and Marquis Maze. Tony Clemons has barely laid a foot onto the playing surface yet.
    MLB/OLB
Sean Spence, Stevenson Sylvester and Mortty Ivy are in a battle for the #3 MLB spot while Jason Worilds and Chris Carter seem to have the back up OLB positions locked up as Brandon Johnson will try to challenge.
    CB
A lot is left to be desired after #1 Ike Taylor, it will seem to go Keenan Lewis, Curtis Brown and Cortez Allen as 2, 3, 4. While Terrence Frederick and Walter McFadden try to grab those spots.

The Bills are looking at the possibility of only keeping 4 or 5 WR. The signing of Mark Clayton means that it looks like the final receiver slots will most likely come down to the 3 receivers mentioned earlier.

David Clowney must have heard the whispers of being cut, during the Pittsburgh game he caught a 58 yard TD pass and did not fumble. Coach Duggan's only comment was that this week we most likely made our final defensive cuts. All cuts left look to be on offensive side of ball.

If Coach Duggan's quote holds to be true, with the cut of DT Spencer Johnson, rookie Torell Troup has made the team.

Coach Duggan mentioned earlier that John Potter was giving Rian Lindell a good run for kicker. Coach Duggan is still in thought on keeping him at the very least as a kickoff specialist.

That Steelers image reminds me of the Madden 95 game.

HB Jordan Todman - Jordan Todman out of Connecticut has impressed the coaching staff enough to keep him as the 3rd running back on the depth chart. Making the cut over Lex Hilliard, Todman has the potential to actually move past Toby Gerhart if he can develop the right skill set. He has what you cannot teach and that is speed.
WR Jarius Wright - Wright, former Arkansas Razorback has been the 3rd WR on the depth chart and given the staff the reason to feel good about the move. He will compliment Percy Harvin and gives the Vikings another option on the offense.
WR Stephen Burton - Burton has the tools to become a star in the National Football League, he just has to be consistent. Good size and speed, the kid is a step away from being a starter. However, the game against San Diego proved why he sits on the bench most of the game. Dropped passes.
MLB Audie Cole - The 7th round draft pick with Fabio like hair has done a lot to keep himself on the team. Look for him to compete for a starting job down the line if he can continue his performance.
CB Josh Robinson - The Vikings have have decided to play Robinson at the #2 position. We want him to have all the opportunity to excel and early is a great start for him.
FS Harrison Smith - We didn't trade a 2nd and move up into the 1st for no reason. We wanted the "White Chocolate". Smith has the tools and mindset to play at this position for a long time. Hopefully, he meets and exceeds our expectations.
