Pittsburgh Steelers Win Their 3rd Straight 13-6 over the Raiders Larrry Foote had a Pick that almost went back for a pick six. Good thing he is slow. I needed wr help since i only had 4 healthy wr and 2 of those had drop pass trait. So i let 33 year old Foote go. Mike Thomas had a good game though so the steelers are still happy with the transaction.
Packers Earn Hard Fought Victory Over Vikings In OT, 30-27 Mason Crosby kicks a 51 yard field goal to win the game in OT. Leading 20-10 at halftime, the Packers had control of the game until Tim Tebow decided to do Tim Tebow things. Tebow got hot in the second half and led the Vikings to a fourth quarter comeback to take the lead 27-20 with under 2 minutes left. Aaron Rodgers then got the football and drove it down the field to tie up the score with a 2 yard TD pass to Eddie Lacy to force overtime. After both teams had a possession in OT, the Packers started driving but after a 2nd down sack on Rodgers, the Packers were faced with 3rd and 19 from the GB 47. Rodgers would then hit Jarret Boykin on a 18 yard pass play to the MIN 34 that would set up a 51 yard field goal. The Packers improved to 5-2, while the Vikings fell to 1-6.
JAGUARS SHUT OUT SAN FRAN Jags were the home team in England and came away with the shut out win against the heavily favored San Francisco 49rs 17-0. Gus Bradley had a gameplan going in on defense and it worked to perfection. He wanted to fluster to QB into bad throws and shut down the running game. The defense did just that. With the teams head coach out for the week, the 49rs looked lost out there under the management of the assistant coach. The front seven harassed Kaepernick all day netting 5 sacks on the day. Alualu is continuing his great play at his new position and is giving opposing offenses fits. Matt Scott did well in his first outing as the starting QB. He had one blemish on a bad throw, but other than that, he gave the offense opportunities to score. MJD, is proving that he wants to be back with the team next year. He is playing as well as ever and has put the team on his back so far this season. The Jags are off next week, and Gus Bradley stated that they will continue to work with Scott installing some new wrinkles in the offense and take some of the pressure off of MJD.
Washington boots the Bolts back to San Diego, behind the leg of Forbath... Kai Forbath with his third field goal of the day, after missing the first goes 3/4, and gives Washington their second win of the season Landover, MD | The Redskins offense stalled again today, failing in the redzone numerous times and settling for field goals. Luckily, the Defense was able to hold back the visiting 6-1 CPU Juggernaut Chargers and lift the team to victory. Robert Griffin III played better than he had most of the season. The running game was decent as well, albeit Morris didn't crack the 100 yard mark, but he helped us control the clock. Brian Orakpo added 2 sacks to his yearly total. He played big, as Kerrigan was sidelined with a Dislocated Hip last week vs Broncos. He was having a pro bowl season too, with 9 sacks through the first 6 games. Brandon Jenkins stepped up in his place, and accounted for a sack also. Madden showed it's colors with the immaculate INT reception that ended a promising drive by Washington, footage below. It's a foregone conclusion that the Shanahan era has ended, but we are still playing the season out. Up next are the 1-7 Vikings, should be fun Game Ball goes to the Defense and Special Teams They gave up 96 passing and 22 yards on the ground. Forbath missed a 51 yarder into the wind, but came back strong to knock in 3 FG's, one of which was the game clincher 42 yarder.
Skins sweep the series vs Eagles with 24 - 17 victory on the road in Philly RG3 on RO play that netted him 68 yards and TD Landover, MD | The Redskins came into this game dead last in the NFC East. After a heartbreaking thriller in Minnesota, the Skins came into the hostile Link looking to sweep the series. The focus was on stopping Shady McCoy and the Eagles rushing attack, which ranks 2nd in the HK....Well, let's just say shit didn't quite work out as planned. Shady had a 200+ yard performance with a couple of huge runs, one going for 80 yards and a TD. That was pretty much the Eagles Offense though, as the Skins would ground the Eagles Air attack. Foles had went 5/18, for 15 yards, 2 INTs and had a passer rating of 0.0. The Skins had balance on offense after a shaky start that saw RG3 throw a pick on the first play of the game from scrimmage. Washington's Defense would get the ball back for the offense however when they intercepted Foles. Alfred Morris scored on the ensuing drive, giving Washington a 7 - 0. The Defense played big again, and forced a punt. RG3 and company moved he ball but the drive stalled after taking a couple of sacks. The possession wan't an empty one, Forbath was able to knock through a 24 yard chip, 10 - 0 Washington. The Eagles looked to be on the verge of imploding, when Shady showed up. Taking a run off of the left side on the line 80 yards for a TD. We have a game. The Eagles Defense would strap up and get Washington off the field. Philly drove and was able to get a FG that tied the game 10 - 10. That would be the score at halftime with the Eagles set to receive the ball. Skins Defense stepped it up a little, and tried to contain the unstoppable McCoy. RG3 looked to have shaken off that first play and hooked up with targets, none bigger than the play action pass to Hankerson for a 53 TD reception. "I saw that Safety shifted to the right to help over the top against Pierrre, and Hank had one on one coverage. The O-line gave me sometime to let him run is route and get a little separation and we hooked up" said RG3 after the game. 17 - 10 Skins. Washington's defense would hold again and give the offense the ball back. on a 3rd and 3 play on the ensuing drive, RG3 would electrify on a RO in which the DE missed the read and crashed on Morris. The 68 TD run by Griffin would put the Skins up 24 - 10. Philly would put together a drive and get to the redzone. Foles got the wind knocked out him and Vick made an appearance. Vick found Shady for TD that would cut the game to 7 late in the fourth. Philadelphia's defense would hold the Skins, and had consecutive sacks putting Washington in 4th and 31, forcing the punt. One more chance for Foles and crew. Washington stepped up and forced the turnover on downs allowing RG3 victory formation it to give the Skins their 3rd win on the season. The lame duck coach Shanahan, aka the Red Lobster, aka the toy general looked pleased. This was Washington's 2nd win 3 weeks. Redskins are more than likely mathematically out of playoff contention, and they have no 1st rounder, but continue to play out the season, no ez victories in Washington Notable Stats Robert Griffin III 12/18 237 YDS, 1TD 1 INT | 4 CAR, 64 YDS, 1TD Alfred "The Butler" Morris 19 CAR, 82 YDS, 1TD Brian "The Sack Pro" Orakpo 8 TCK, 3 SCK Jose Gumbs 5 TCK, 1 SCK, 1 INT Nick Foles 5/18 15 YDS, 2 INT, 3 CAR, 14 YDS LeSean "Shady" McCoy 15 CAR, 204 YDS, 1 TD | 3 REC, 9 YDS, 1TD Trent Cole 8 TCK, 1 SCK Fletcher Cox 3 TCK, 2 SCK Shanny approves of the effort today...
Colts Hold Off Titans The Colts traveled to Tennessee looking for their 3rd win on the season. It was not pretty and there was not much to talk about as Indy held on and defeated the Titans 10-6 in a game that looked more like a game from the 1940's.
JAGS ADD ANOTHER WIN Jaguars get the convincing win against the visiting Arizona Cardinals, 15-38. After losing to the Titans after the bye, they get the W off the great play by the defense. Matt Scott had a nice outing throwing for 254 yards and a touchdown. MJD had another good game, but was shut down after the game had been pretty much decided. Rookie Denard Robinson did well, except for the fumble in the red zone, but the coaching staff said they can clean that up. The big man on campus is WR Cecil Shorts. He torched the Cardinal defense for 132 yards and a touchdown. Alualu continues to gobble up sacks. This time, DTs Marks and Deaderick got in on the act, getting 4 sacks on the day. When the front line gets pressure, the corners benefit. Gratz pulled down 2 Ints, while Fleming, Ball and LB Hayes each got one. While the defense is tops in the league, the offense has yet to catch up. Could this be the start of something good going or just a anomaly for the offense. We will find out next week when Jags go on the road to face the Texans.
Giants avenge Week 1 loss in rout of Cowboys 34-10 The NY Giants host the Dallas Cowboys with 1st place in the NFC East at stake as both teams came in at 6-4. The Giants started out 1-3 and have won 4 of their last 5 to climb back into contention and looked to take sole possesion of 1st place for the first time this season. It was apperent early on that the Giants were out to make Tony Romo go to someone other then Dez Bryant thus forcing Romo into early mistake while Eli Manning who threw 13 INT's in his first 3 games would be the one who played mistake free football. The Giants would build a 31-0 first half lead capitalizing on 5 Tony Romo INT's. Andre Brown would pound the rock for the Giants chewing up most of the 2nd half as he carried the ball over 20 times for over 120 yards and a TD.
Dolphins route Panthers, move to 8-3 Even Ron Rivera is impressed with how Nnamdi Asomugha has played this season.
Cards End The Streak After losing a ton of games I lost track of how many the Cards pull one out. The offense struggled in the first half really only getting points off of a turnover. Palmer came in and leaded the Cards straight down the field and pull off the come back in the 2nd half. After the game the Cards announced that Palmer will start the rest of the year. The colts really struggled with having turnovers at key times. GG uagrad90
Skins defend home field with a little help from the Madden Gods, 31 - 11 Victory over G-Men Garcon with his 2nd TD catch to bail out RG3 on a broken Play Action Rollout on 3rd and goal to put the Skins up 24-11 in the 4th Quarter Landover, MD | The Redskins had a 2-1 division record, and could quite possibly have been 3-0 if not for a 4th quarter melt down vs the Cowboys. The NY Football Giants were to come to town, leading the division. The game had a strange feel to it from the beginning. RG3 threw the first of his 3 picks on the first series and Alf was getting stuffed. Giants would stall and be held to a field goal 3 - 0. The Skins continued to get stuffed and was forced to punt on their 2nd series. The flow of the game changed in an instant, When CT hitstick the shyt outta the return man, causing the fumblerooski and and recovery by Skins. The offense would capitalize on the short field 7 - 3 skins. On the next kickoff, another fumble and recovery. Skins would score again, adding to the lead, 14 - 3 in the 2nd quarter. The G-Men looked to have turned things around and were moving the ball nicely. Manning hooked up with Haken Nicks on a streak where he beat the corner one on one, but there was holding penalty that negated the TD, bringing it back for a 3rd and long. The Skins D held, but the offense struggled to move the ball and convert on 3rd downs. Halftime 14 - 3. G-Men received the ball first. Skins D would continue to perform and make stopping Cruz the #1 priority, often doubling the All-Pro WR over the top with Safety help. Eventually, G-Men would strike and bring the game to within a field goal, 14 - 11. Both defenses played well, but Washington would benefit from some costly penalties to keep the G-men from scoring and also helping to extend a drive. Skins put up 17 unanswered in the fourth quarter, and was able to sit back and play pass coverage as the G-Men became one dimensional due to the deficit and time left in the game. Alfred Morris sealed the victory with on a counter run for 45 yards that went for a TD midway in the 4th. G-Men would go 4 and out and RG3 was able to kneel it out with 2 minutes left in the game. Jags shut out Browns Jags go on the road in cold Cleveland Ohio and get the shut out win against the Browns, 30-0. The Jacksonville defense were the stars of this game not allowing QB Jason Campbell to get comfortable in pocket and forcing bad throws into coverage which the secondary was happy to pick off. They did so 6 times today. Once again the Jags defensive tackles proved not only can they stop the run, but can pressure the QB as well. Not too many offenses can defend that. The Jags continue their outstanding season with another win as they look to face off against the Texans at home. The team looks to avenge the loss at the hands of Houston and take a commanding lead in the division race.
Jags Win in OT Thriller In the rematch with the Texans at home, Jags win a crazy game that took overtime to find the victor, 23-29. If this game wasn't the game of the week, it should have been and both teams didn't disappoint. The stars of the teams but on a show in a game no one wanted to see end but someone had to. Henne in his second game back from the bench is proving to the coaching staff that they didn't make a mistake putting him once again behind center. The game started with Foster seemingly running at will until the DC found a glitch in the offense and shut him down. He used the same thought process to find a loophole in the passing game to make things a little bit difficult for Keenum. MJD had nice game with 17 att 112 yards and a touchdown. The duo of Alualu and Deaderick combined for a sack each. Geno Hayes was all over the field making plays led the team with 8 tackles. The Texans seemed to have the game in hand but Henne finally got aggressive and made some long throws downfield testing Houston's zone defense. With the score tied and the game ending, the Texans attempted to go for it and win the game. The had twice tried to hit Johnson down the field but the rookie Gratz was right there to make the play. On the third try, Johnson was able to best Gratz and raced to the end zone. As time expired, Johnson in his excitement didn't go out of bounds to set up the game winning FG. He was tackles around the 10, OT. The Jags win the toss and elect to receive. Jacksonville almost got the win in the return as Robinson almost got loose. After a couple of plays, the OC called for a flood route. Henne saw Blackmon break free on the out route and hit him in stride, the rest was all Justin, with a little help from Shorts III. Blackmon shook off the first tackler as the second guy ran past. As he broke up the field he got a key block from Cecil and out ran the LBer giving chase for the game winning touchdown. " I just knew I had to get the ball in for the score. It was just pure determination, but I couldn't have done it without that block from Cecil," said Blackmon after the game. The Jags have a nice lead in the division race with the win with two more divisional games to go.
Jags Win Another at Home Jags were able to outlast the Bill today 14-27. Jacksonville's defense came to play today holding the Bill offense to only 161 yards. Henne threw for 262 yards with 2 TDs and 2 ugly INTs. One of which was run back for a Buffalo TD. MJD had a decent day posting 71 yards on 22 carries. Shorts and Blackmon continue there stellar play. Shorts had 6 rec and 63 yards and a TD. Justin hauled in 5 catches for 81 yards. Play of the day was Denard Robinson taking a screen play 66 yards for the TD that would jumpstart the scoring for the Jacksonville offense. The win pushes the Jags record to 9-5 with two divisional game to go.
Jags Vindicates Loss Jags win the last home game of the season beating the Titans 0-26 on the backs of their potent defense. The offense managed the ball well and with efficiency. Locker started off on the wrong foot early in the game throwing picks on back to back possessions. The Jaguars never looked back from there. " The team played great today, and deserves some time off ", said Bradley after the game. The Jags are now 10-5 and second in the AFC. When asked if the staff looked at sitting their starters for next game against the Colts, Bradley said we will look at all options and come to a conclusion before the start of the game.
COWBOYS CLINCH NFC EAST WITH WIN OVER WASHINGTON With only two weeks left in the regular season the Dallas Cowboys held a two game lead over the New York Giants which meant that the boys only needed one more win to clinch the division but standing in their way was a week 16 road trip to take on The Washington Redskins who's only division loss came in week 6 in Dallas. With a dismal 2-5 road record and a Redskins team playing their final home game at FedEx field the odds were heavily stacked against the Cowboys. The Cowboys won the toss and elected to kick but Washington would make a statement early as Alfred Morris found the end zone on the very first play of the game with a 73 yd TD run giving a huge momentum boost to the Redskins as their defense managed to pick off Tony Romo's first pass attempt of the game three plays later. The Cowboys would catch their first break following the turnover as rainy and windy conditions led to a missed field goal attempt by the Redskins keeping the score 7-0. The Cowboys would drive down field and find themselves in the red zone when disaster would strike again with a Lance Dunbar fumble inside the 15 yd line. Dunbar would later make up for his earlier mistake by taking a screen pass 54 yds for a TD to tie the score a 7-7 before the end of the 1st quarter. The Cowboys would come out swinging in the 2nd as they dominated the Redskins through the air. Tony Romo finished the game with 2 INTs but those two mistakes were the only passes that did not find the hands of a Cowboys receiver as he ended the day with an astonishing 86% completion percentage. The Boys would tack on 14 more points in the 2nd taking a 21-7 lead into halftime. The Redskins did manage to put up 10 points in the 3rd but the Cowboys defense was too much for RGIII as he was held accountable for all 5 of the Redskins turnovers (4 INTs and 1 fumble). The Cowboys improved to 10-5 with the win over Washington and will be looking to stay a perfect 8-0 at home next week as they host the Philadelphia Eagles. We have also received word that although DeMarco Murray's dislocated elbow will keep him on the sidelines against Philly he is scheduled to be cleared to play just in time for the playoffs.
MIAMI DOLPHINS CLINCH AFC EAST TITLE WITH DOMINANT WIN OVER JETS 24-7 Was a strong year for Miami, despite losing some momentum late in the year due to missed games and sims. Congrats to bandit3324 on a strong first season with the Jets, you are going to be a force once you collect more talent. See everyone in the playoffs.
Jags Move On! Jags take down the Miami Dolphins to move on to the conference playoffs, 7-27. The Jags defense continues to overachieve getting 4 takeaways in today's game. Linebackers Hayes and Poz came up with a INT each with Poz taking his to the house. Gratz had one late and Fleming recovered a fumble late in the 4th to after a vicious hit by Sherrod Martin on the TE. For once Henne didn't throw an INT and MJD had a great day. He also gave Jags fans a little scare late in the game, but the coaching staff said he will be ready to go for the Conference Playoff. Gus Bradley said in his press conference that the main goal of the team was to bottle up Miller and make the QB pass the ball. He said they felt that was a key part of winning the game was limiting the big plays from Miller. Jacksonville fans can rejoice tonight as their team is one more step to the Super Bowl. They have only the Buffalo Bills in their way. The last meeting, the Jags got the best of the Bills. Coach Bradley said that he is sure they made some adjustments since then and we will have to make some changes as well.
