Once the 40-day trial period expires for the full version that you download, you will still have access to the “evaluation copy” of WinRAR which is all you will need for league purposes. HOW TO DOWNLOAD FRANCHISE FILES TO YOUR PC Here's how to download the franchise file from the internet to your PC and place it on your Virtual Memory Card (flash drive or other USB external memory device alternative) to upload to your PS3... 1) Insert your flash drive or other USB external memory device to your PC. 2) Access the franchise file download via the logo link on the PMFL XFN home page. Under the "PMFL Home" link there will be several other links listed in the right hand column. Select the "Franchise File Download" link. That will link you to the current franchise file download via 4shared.com, the free file sharing website that we use. 3) Download the franchise file to your computer by clicking on the blue “Download Now” button. 4) A download timer will appear. Once the countdown is complete, click on the blue link “Download file now” and a “File Download” window should appear. Save the file to your desktop. 5) A “Download complete” window should appear once you have successfully saved the file to your desktop. Click “Open” to extract the franchise file using WinRAR (aka WinRAR Archiver). 6) A “WinRAR (evaluation copy)” window should appear. Highlight the “PS3” folder (click once on it) and then click on the “Extract To” button which is the second button from the left in the toolbar located at the top of the WinRAR window. 7) An “Extraction path and options” window should appear. Highlight your flash drive or other USB memory device by clicking once on it in the document tree on the right. Click “OK” to extract the file. NOTE: If you have other game saves in a PS3 folder on your flash drive or other USB memory device that you do not wish to lose, DO NOT overwrite the PS3 folder until you have moved your game saves to an alternate folder location. 8) A window should appear showing the progress of the file extraction to your flash drive or other USB memory device. Once the window disappears, your download is complete. HOW TO UPLOAD FRANCHISE FILES TO YOUR PS3 Here's how to upload the franchise file from your Virtual Memory Card (flash drive or other USB external memory device alternative) to your PS3... 1) Remove your flash drive or other USB memory device from your PC, and connect it to your PS3. Power up the PS3 and log in if you haven't already done so. 2) Scroll through the horizontal PS3 main menu to the “Game” icon. Scroll down the vertical “Game” menu to the “Saved Data Utility (PS3)” icon and select it with the “X” button on your controller. 3) A vertical sub-menu should appear. With the “X” button on your controller, select the “USB Device (name of your device here)” icon which should be the first option available to you. 4) A vertical sub-menu should appear with your PS3 game save data. Select the “Madden NFL 11” icon with the franchise file named after the week that the league is currently in (Ex. PMFLWK1) with the “TRIANGLE” button on your controller. 5) A menu on the right should appear. Select “Copy” with the “X” button on your controller. A “Copying... please wait.” message should appear as the PS3 uploads the franchise file. 6) Once the franchise file is successfully uploaded to your PS3, a “Copy completed.” message will appear. Exit the data transfer screen with the “O” button on your controller. 7) Back out of the “Saved Data Utility (PS3)” menu, scroll down to Madden NFL 11 and load the game by pressing "X" on your controller. 8) Once in the game, you should be able to load the franchise file from the main game menu. It will be named after the current week for which the league is in (Ex. PMFLWK1). In order to download/upload the franchise file each week, just rinse and repeat the process by following the instructions indicated above.
