After the report that was released today. Joe Pa lied to the grand jury. This whole thing just makes me ill.

I would think people would be a Joe Pa fan for what he did on the field. What happened off the field doesn't take away from the fact he was a good coach on the field.

Who gives a shit about what he did on the field. He allowed a man to ruin lives. The university as a whole should shut down for what these men allowed one man to do.

The whole thing is disturbing..anyone that can put football and money ahead of the things he knew where happening has no place as a hero of anything.

He had no moral compass ...nor did anyone else involved with this cover up.

I know I will get chewed out for this, but the problem I see with this is that Joe Pa never shared his side of the story with the investigator Louis Freeh. He was the former FBI director that Penn State hired to look into the scandal. That's according to this article:

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/penn-states-sandusky-report-draw-063655630--ncaaf.html

I haven't read the article where Joe Pa lied to the grand jury, haven't searched for it either though.

I am not saying Joe Pa didn't know anything but even those who were the closest to the BTK killer didn't know he killed a number of women over the years.

When this whole thing broke I wanted to believe that Joe Pa did all that he could. He reported it to his boss who chose to turn his back on the situation. As a Ohio state fan, I've always respected paterno but after today there's no way. Paterno is just as guilty as Sandusky in my book. My question is this, why didn't the assistant coach who allegdy saw what happened in the shower go to the cops then and there? Could have ended it right at that point.

I'll fill you in on this part. In his grand jury testimony, Paterno clearly stated that he had no knowledge prior to 2001 about Sandusky's pursuits of boys. The Freeh report conclusively proves that Paterno knew in at least 1998.

not that I want to discuss Paterno much more, but...

i wouldn't say paterno is as guilty as sandusky, lol. that's not fair.

but the caveat is that it doesn't matter. sin destroys and eats everything in its path and its beyond sad.

such is the predicament of man: self-preservation, pride, and an undying pursuit of cultural success. what's annoying is that the people that helped create a pagan idol/statue/god in Paterno (who he himself clearly came to believe in) to replace the one true God are the ones that are now unwilling to, even now, tear it down.

It's simple: there are no heroes but Yahweh. Joe Paterno will fail. Your dad will fail. You will fail (like Moses, David, Peter, and on and on). God will not. This is the entire point of the story.

So stop trying to replace him. Instead, and with allegiance to the one true God, tear down the high places and statues in your life (which is often ourselves, right?) before they destroy even more.

This is my faith and the truth of creation. Suck it if you disagree, lol.

    Sorry, I'm done ... I'm a priest, forgive. :)

Tom Cruise is the one true God. That's where it gets interesting obviously.
