In season recruiting updates.
Post them here.
Coach LSUmark gets off to a great start recruiting after studying from the greats like nick saban and les miles Coach Mark was quoted as saying using the tools his mentors used helped a lot in his recruiting battles and was able to get 3 commits in the first week.
Jon Peterson - WR 3 star recruit
Paul simpson- FS 3 star recruit
Brian Wright- SS 3 star recruit
Heck of a job snagging 3 in the first week of recruiting!
Just got a commitment from a QB, Greg Horne. C+ Throw Power, C Throw Accuracy, C Speed. Hopefully he will be Kyle Padron's successor in 3 years.
TCU was able to get a commitment from a 4 star FB in week 1
As expected, coach Bear has focused his recruiting efforts on improving his defense. His efforts were rewarded in week 2 with commitments from:
Andrew Pennington - a 3 star SS out of San Antonio. Andrew is about average size for a safety, at 6'0" and 195, but he has a reputation as a hard hitting back.
Drew Kirkpatrick - a 3 star MLB from Spencer Oklahoma. Drew is a balanced and rangy linebacker with decent size and speed.
Coach LSUmark follows his big win up with some big wins on the recruiting trails.
He added two more recruits to his stables today a 3 star 6 foot 3 285 pound tackle
and a 3 star speedster at the wr position and there are rumors he is trying to still a 5 star away from some big name schools
On the recruiting front Houston received a commitment from 3 star prospect Nathan Weaver. Nathan hails from Kilgore Texas and played several positions in high school. Coach Bear is hopeful that Natahn's athleticism will make him well suited to the cornerback position, but that will not become clear until next summer. If Weaver does show potential at cornerback then it is likely that he may see significant playing time. On the other hand, if he seems a better fit at wide out then he will likely be red shirted.
In week 5 coach Texasfight did a full recruiting board evaulation and made some changes.
Finally signed my first recruit, Ryan Garcia a 3 star SS.
The Cougars have done well since their opening loss to the Air Force Falcons.
Climbing back into the rankings and heading into a big matchup against #4 Boise St., Houston is attracting some strong recruits. The latest to sign is a promising young halfback as the Cougars look to restock the backfield.
Byu got a big boost in recruiting with the news early in the week about CB Justin Brown a 4 star recruit signing. Coach RFlagg was also able to get Marcus Miranda a 3 star cb to commit. I am really happy this as it allows us to redouble our efforts on some other recruits we want to see in a BYU uniform.
