Is AP a guy that you'd model all halfbacks after?

Just curious. It seems to me that everything about the halfbacks... From the way they line up in the backfield to the stride with a hitch in the gait, to the upright running stance... It's all modeled after AP.

I've never seen any other running back that runs remotely like him, so i'm curious as to how they thought he would be a good guy to standardize as the running back model... (n)

No I don't like his running style. It is a recipe for a short career.

I like Priest Holmes, Emmit Smith, Ladanian Tomlinson, Felix Jones type of runner.

Now that I got that out of the way...yes. Also, AD likes to bounce it outside...

Deuce McCallister used to run like Peterson does now, and you see what happened to him.

I guess more simplistically speaking I'm just whining that I have to watch all of my RB's in NCAA 11 look exactly like AP all year.

I agree a relatively nondescript guy like a Priest Holmes or somebody like that would be a good guy to model the HB after... If they really all must have the exact same running animation... lol

unfortunately the only way AP could reduce his fumbles is by taking away some of his running abaility. He is of course a physical specimen when it comes to musle defintion and his raw strength and the reason he fumbles so much is because his arms are just so big there is not much room for the football to be tucked in between his arms and chest.

One thing people don't bring up though is the fact that his blocking isn't very good at all and neither or his pass catching abilites, there is a reason Chester Taylor came in on 3rd downs

It seems like Big 12 fans are the only ones who realize this. It doesn't help that some NFL commentators call him AP.

Either that or non Big 12 fans realize that it is a stupid nickname since the guy was injured all through college. More like SD as in somedays. Dude should've won the Heisman though the year he was healthy.

Watch NFl network great piece on AD in the film room with Coach Eric Bienemy who will be the next coach of Colorado but thats off topic. AD runs with a form that he really swings his arms to generate his speed. He do3es this while carrying the ball and it is disconnected from his body which initially produced the fumbles and the n when you gain a reputation defenders are gonna go after it a higher rate than they would against other backs. He also like to finish runs and fight for estra yards which gives that extra opportunity to strip or fumble.

That's what people always say when they get called out for calling him AP. I realize it's a little confusing. His dad gave him the nickname when he was a kid.

Of course, you could always call him Peterson. What did Merril Hodge try to name him? The Cash Register?

there are still other runners that swing their arms but are able to hold the ball further up their arm and closer to their body because their arms are not so thick

i dont think arm size has much to do with it. I think its all about his arms, I know other guys swing their arms but AD really exaggerates it.

AS you can see there is room to squeze tighter but his arms are away from his body makeing him vulnerable to getting stripped

Funnily, that's how the guy in NCAA 11 carries the ball.
