Well, Coach Riptides had a very short stay in Baltimore and now takes the reigns of the Cubbies. He'' only been around the club for a few days but so far the team looks like it is already adjusted to his style of coaching.

We'll keep you up to date with game recaps as they happen. Stay tuned.

This game started out with the Cubbies drawing first blood in the bottom of the first after a Marlon Byrd double followed by a Aramis Ramirez single. The next couple of innings were silent for both teams until the Brewers Hart hit a towering HR into left centerfield. The Cubbies answered right back in the bottom of the 3rd with three runs of their own on a Pena HR, double by Colvin and a single by Soto. The Cubs went on to add one more in the bottom of the seventh for some insurance and they held on to win 5-1.

The Cubs pitching staff has performed well up to this point and it has been the only thing keeping them in games. Defense has cost them a couple of games with some untimely errors which can't continue if they want to win the close games. Below is the box score from the game vs the Reds.

Against Houston Pettitte joined the team and threw a gem of a game. The cubs could have put a few more runs on the board but a big time baserunning blunder killed the inning when they had men on first and second with no outs. There was a shot off the left field wall but the two runners were heading back to the base and the batter was rounding first. Needless to say the results weren't good as two guys ended up on second and both were tagged out. Marmol came on in this game and recorded the save to preserve the 2-1 victory.

Last night Garza threw the game up his life and if it hadn't been for a throwing error by the yound SS Castro he would of had a perfect game. As it turns out he still no-hit the Giants and made T.Colvin's second inning HR off of a low curveball hold up for the W. The Cubs remain in a virtual tie with the Cardinals but its a long season and anything can happen.
