Indianapolis, IN - The Jaguars (2-2) traveled to Indianapolis to take on the Colts (2-2) in week 5. The divisional match-up was important for both teams involved as each jockeys for position within the heated AFC South. With the Texans (2-1) suffering a week 5 loss to the Packers (1-3), a win would give the Jaguars or the Colts an edge to lead the division.

The Colts won the coin toss and elected to defer to the Jaguars to open the game. Both defenses shut their opponent out in the first quarter resulting in a 0-0 tie as time in the first quarter expired. The Jaguars offense had the first shot at drawing blood at the opening of the second quarter. After stalling at the Colts 37 yard line, Jaguars kicker John Potter would make an attempt at a 54 yard field goal. However, the field goal attempt came up short hitting the cross bar. The kick would end up on the wrong side of the uprights and the Colts would end up with the ball at mid-field.

Taking advantage of the good field position, Colts kicker Connor Barth showed Potter how it is done with a successful 50 yard field goal attempt. The field goal put the Colts on the board 3-0 with 4:54 remaining in the second quarter. The Jaguars answered quickly as rookie quarterback Ryen Irwin connected with a fellow rookie, tight end Ronny Steriti, for a 62 yard catch-and-run for a touchdown. Steriti broke a few missed tackles by the Colts defense and scored with just over three minutes remaining in the first half to give the Jaguars a 7-3 lead. The touchdown closed out the scoring for the first half as both teams exchanged interceptions thereafter.

The Colts received to open the second half, however, their first drive of the half was foiled by the Jaguars defense. Antwon Blake intercepted Andrew Luck's pass intended for T.Y. Hilton giving the Jaguars the ball at mid-field. Unable to take advantage of the turnover opportunity, the Jaguars wound up punting back to the Colts. The defensive theme continued as both teams exchanged punts and turnovers. The score remained unchanged at 7-3 in favor of the Jaguars moving into the fourth quarter.

Koa Misi came up with a crucial takeaway for the Colts in the fourth quarter as he returned an interception 29 yards for a touchdown. The defensive score put the Colts ahead 10-7 with 5:19 remaining in the game. It appeared as if momentum may be shifting in favor of the home team. Both defenses continued to stymie their opponent, though, as neither offense could score. That is, not until the Jaguars had one last opportunity with the ball and just over three minutes remaining. The Jaguars offense came up with two crucial third down completions leading to a Maurice Jones-Drew three yard touchdown run with 1:18 remaining.

Down 14-10, the Colts were not out. Following a touchback on the ensuing kickoff, Luck was able to move the Colts offense past mid-field with just over 20 seconds remaining and no more timeouts. A first down completion would move the Colts closer to the Red Zone. Hurrying to the line, the Colts offense was able to get set and snap the ball to Luck just as time had expired. Luck made one last attempt to hit Denarius Moore on a streak, but the pass was swatted down at the goalline by cornerback Chris Prosinski to end the game.

It was an ugly game for both teams, but the Jaguars will take the much needed road win against a divisional opponent. The win puts the Jaguars in control of the AFC South for the time being with still LOTS of football to be played. The Jaguars will travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans and the Colts will travel to Chicago to take on the Bears in week 6.

As always, Curtis, it was a pleasure and I look forward to our next meeting. Until then, good luck!

LMFAO! Bad enough that I did it once, but twice? SMDH.... Been a long week/end. You'll be in the running at the end of the season. I guarantee it.
