This one started out a typical Saints game. We got up 17-0 at Halftime, by getting an early TO and turning it into points. Looking back I think a huge play was, when the Saints got aggressive late 2Q and went for a 4th and inches from their own 3-yard line to try and get into position to score the first TD of the game. Sproles took the pitch and just made it in for a 4th down TD run and making it 10-0 late 2Q. The Saints would score again in the closing seconds on a pass to Colston. Both teams settled into a defensive battle and that theme would carryover into the 2nd Half.

To open the 3Q the Jaguars would HOUSE the kick and suck all the energy out of the stadium. 17-7 Saints. Brees & Comp. would march down and mix up the run and pass for a nice drive. Brees converted a few key 3rd downs before connecting to Graham who made a one-armed catch over the middle. 24-7 Saints. The Jagurs would use up a lot of clock and score in the early portion of the 4Q. It was a well planned drive that saw Jones finally start to pound out some yardage. Hasselbeck was at his best and converted a few key 3rd downs along the way and eventually finding M. Lewis for a short throw and catch from 6 yards out. 24-14 Saints. Brees & Comp. would decide not to go into "run the ball and milk the clock mode," with about 5 mins remaing and up by two scores. We got too aggressive trying to extend the score and go for the jugular. Brees threw a costly INT that Jacksonville turned it into a quick three points. 24-17 Saints. Before Collinsworth could finish saying choke the Saints were looking down a loaded shotgun barrel. The Saints milked some clock lates in the game, but were not able to convert as many 3rd downs as needed. Drops and poor running lead to a failed drive. This was it, the last hurrah. The Jaguars had about a minute-thirty seconds to try and tie the game and force overtime. Hasselbeck had trouble early on and converted a 3rd down thanks to MJD being a Demi God. Unfortunatley they could not complete the comeback as the 'D' came up huge for N.O. and the game would end 24-17 Saints.

    Notes:

Saints CBs only allowd a total of 94 passing yards. Good Sign.
Brees and Hasselbeck both threw 2 INTs apiece and neither eclipsed 300-yards passing

Yah your DB's were ridiculously good. I wish I would've pounded the ball more with MJD early though.
