The Jags held off the Texans late surge to pull out the victory, 21-20.

The game started off on the right foot for the Texans as they took the opening possession down the field which ended in a Smith 4 yard TD run. The Jags would take the next possession and respond by their own TD drive that was capped off by a 2 yard run.
Houston would get their last TD of the game midway through the 2nd quarter with a great drive and a 7 yard WR screen to sophomore D. Hopkins making the game 14-7 at halftime.
The 3rd quarter was dominated by the Jaguars and they came out quick. After receiving the opening kick, Ray Rice would scamper for a 69 yard TD run on the first play of the half to tie the game 14-14. The next possession Tom Savage would throw an INT to Dwayne Gratz who returned the ball to the 1 yard line. The next play Bortles threw a quick pass to Shorts to take the 21-14 lead. The Texans added two field goals to trim the Jags lead to 1.
The Texans would get their last opportunity with less then a minute left and no timeouts as Tom Savage got within the 30 of Jacksonville while the clock was winding down. Savage hiked the ball and threw a strike to Hopkins in the back of the endzone which was dropped as Hopkins was trying to get his feet down, game over. A thrilling home victory for Jacksonville!
