Two goal-line stands helped the Jaguars knock off division foe, Tennessee Titans 24-20.
The Jaguars came into this game needing a win to keep up with the Titans for the division title and they played with a purpose from the beginning. The defenses held tight during the 1st quarter and held each other scoreless but as the 1st quarter was winding down the Titans were on the move and at the goal-line ready to punch it in but the stubborn Jaguars defense had other thoughts. They stuffed the Titans three straight times inside the 3 yard line and forced a field goal, a big win. The ensuing Jaguars drive would lead to their own field goal after failing to convert a 3rd down just short of TEN's redzone. But the Titans would respond in a big way the next drive with a 50 yard TD pass to J. Hunter to go up 10-3. Jacksonville would fumble the kickoff and the Titans suddenly were about to go up 17-3 just like that. But again the defense had other thoughts and produced another goal-line stand to force a field goal to keep the game close. With just over a minute to go Blake Bortles drove down the field and ended the drive with a 16 yard TD pass to M. Lee to bring the game closer, 13-10 at the half.
The Jaguars would receive the 2nd half kickoff and chew up half the quarter on the way to a TD drive capped of by an Alfred Morris 16 yard TD run putting the Jags on top 17-13 and that score would stand until the 4th quarter. The TItans took their first drive in the 4th down the field for a TD from Cox to Wright to go on top with just 7 minutes to go. Jacksonville would get the ball back with 7 minutes to go and didn't look back. They would go on a 6 and a half minute drive capped off with a 1 handed M. Lee TD pass to put the Jaguars on top 24-20. Titans would have another chance from but would fail with 3 seconds left on the hailmary.
