In their third matchup of the season, the Jets would once again walk away victorious against their hated division rival, Patriots. Knowing the Patriots running game wouldn't be a major factor the Jets defense was once again able to key onto the passing game and not let Tom Brady beat them as he did to so many others during the season. While the defense wasn't able to create many turnovers they were able to make key third down stops that would force the Patriots to punt and that's all we could ask for.

The game started with the Jets winning the toss and electing to kick. The Pats would drive down to the Jets 26 yard line where their drive would stall and would have to settle for the 43 yard field goal. After the teams traded punts, the Jets would score the first touchdown of the game when Mark Sanchez would find David Clowney over the middle for the 10 yard score and 7-3 lead. After forcing another Patriots punt, the Jets would get the ball back late in the half and Nick Folk would kick a 50 yard field goal to go into the half with a 10-3 lead.

Coming out of the half the Jets wanted to open it up more after playing very conservative in the first half. The team responded with a 79 yard touchdown pass to Braylon Edwards a minute into the second half. Another punt by the Pats would give the ball back to the Jets and after a long run by Shonn Greene, he would punch it in fro 3 yards out as the lead stretched to 24-3 at the end of the third quarter.

The Jets went back to a conservative defense in the fourth quarter and the Pats burned them on a couple big pass plays, and Brady would find Moss for a 14 yard score to get to within 14. It proved to be too much, too late for the Pats as the Jets would add a late 49 yard field goal and Antonio Cromartie would pick off Tom brady to wrap up the game for the Jets.

    Next up: winner of Colts/Broncos

GG John, see ya next season
