The New York Jets improved to 4-4 on the season after a big win against division rival Miami 28-18. Outside of a couple of poor red zone decisions that turned into interceptions, the Jets played a solid and balanced game. All season long New York had struggled to run the ball. Shonn Greene stepped up with his first 100 yard game carrying the ball 17 times for 101 yards and a touchdown. Although Sanchez did throw two costly red zone interceptions, he also had a solid day throwing 15-21 for 262 yards and a touchdown.

Miami was forced to be one-dimensional late in the game after New York's defense shut down the run. Miami running backs Johnathan Stewart and former Jet Joe McKnight combined for 14 carries with 31 total rushing yards and no touchdowns. The Dolphins were able to get some big plays with long passes to new acquisitions Brandon LaFell and Denarius Moore, but the Jets' secondary was solid holding rookie QB Ryan Tannehill to 11 completions on 27 attempts. Antonio Cromartie and David Harris made huge plays as each ran interceptions back for defensive touchdowns.

The Jets will carry the momentum from this win into their bye week and focus on making a push for the AFC East division title.
