Draft Day has come and gone and it was a surprise of some of these players that the owner came back to see. Chiefs owner took a night out to some cold beer, loud music and playing softball only to come back and was left scratching his head on what the teams draft pickers were doing. Although 1 need was addressed it was cheap FA's that were picked up to be the starting RG and back up LG and RG along wit back LOLB and ROLB. Once again it appears the Chiefs will lack depth, a thing they struggled with last year as well. But hey the Chiefs have 4 QBs. The surprise pick in the organization was the 4th QB added to the roster with Derek Carr. Although it would appear with Alex Smith's success that he will not be losing his spot, rather it would appear they are preparing for the future with Chase Daniel and Derek Carr. Another surprise pick was Ole Miss running back Jeff Scott. He doesn't appear to be the back that will dominant in the NFL but he could be a good complimentary back. Standing at 5'7 with little to no speed, the Chiefs will look to find what he is good at and try to use that to their advantage. The most satisfying pick of this draft class for the Chiefs would come in the form of a 6'2 225 WR from Nebraska Quincey Enunwa. Enunwa may get made fun of for his speed, or lack there of, but he possesses some great hands and that may be what the Chiefs need. With some key drops coming from AJ Jenkins, Enunwa could find himself in the number 2 come week 1. Enunwa will see the most time while Jeff Scott will see a couple carries a game and with some injury Derek Carr may see the field in that event.

    *BREAKING NEWS*

KC Chiefs have officially cut QB Chase Daniel. In a close evaluation between Daniel, Bray and Carr it became obvious that Daniel would soon be finding the 4 spot on the depth chart therefore deeming completely useless and an obvious candidate to drop down to 53 players. This is the only cut Chiefs will have to do and it makes the race for backup QB interesting, with the 2 QBs completely opposite when it comes to their arm. Bray, strong arm with little accuracy, or Carr, accurate with no arm.

    Meet your Chiefs

Each week we'll introduce you to a Chief player, preferably one that isn't a top notch player. Maybe one that is under the radar. This will be based on season results or current week results (previous if current week game has not been played yet).

    Week 1

    Meet Quincy Enunwa

    Age: 22
    College: Nebraska
    Rookie 5th round
    Why was Enunwa drafted?
Enunwa is a big physical WR that does not possess speed and actually is clocked at a speed of 78. What has caught our eyes is the fact that he possesses one of the best hands on the team with a catching of 94. He has some upside to him and fits the Chiefs passing attack well. Chiefs like the big possession receivers and AJ Jenkins was definitely not fitting that philosophy. We feel that with Enunwa in the 2 spot it provides some good looks and hopefully can open up Bowe and Avery.

Were you surprised that he feel to the 5th round?
A part of me is surprised that he feel with those hands, but in reality a lot of owners love speed so seeing him fall isn't surprising at all. I know there were a few WR's we had over him but the drafting team didn't jump on them and waited for Enunwa. We are ok with it and moving forward with him.

Was the starting spot his from the day he was drafted?
In short, yes. We knew that whoever we drafted at WR was going to get day 1 snaps and get looks with the starting team. Jenkins was not an option for now.

What does the future look like for Enunwa?
Again, he is going to start for the KC Chiefs and we really hope he can get some productive looks and use those giant hands to pull in some beautiful passes.

    Finally, Why Enunwa this week?
You met Enunwa this week because of his week 1 stats. In no way a breakout performance and more of a reassurance that this kid is what the Chiefs are looking for. He posted up 3 catches 63 yards 1 TD and 0 drops in week 1 vs the tough Denver Broncos D. There was one play that the lack of speed hurt, it was a curl route that the CB tried to jump but Enunwa got the ball and had nothing but open field. He made it 40 yards before being caught by the whole team and left about 10 yards short.
