The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to a deal with free agent HB Larod Stephens-Howling. Stephens-Howling signed for 1 year, 750K. While the 4th year HB out of Pittsburgh isn't expected to see many carries, he is expected to be the starting kick and punt returner for the Chiefs.

Kansas City Chiefs Clinch Playoff Berth

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs, off to their best start in team history, have clinched a playoff berth. The Chiefs, 11-0, are currently enjoying the longest win streak in the franchise's 50 year history.

The Chiefs return to the playoffs for the second time in 3 years. Kansas City won the AFC West in 2010 after finishing 10-6. With the Raiders loss to the Browns this week, the Chiefs can clinch the division title with a win vs the Panthers.

Kansas City hopes to finish the final quarter of the season strong so they can lock up home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The team hasn't won a playoff game since the 1993 season, when they made it to the AFC Championship Game.

The defense has carried the Chiefs this season, ranking 2nd in the NFL. First year head coach Corey Lewers has said that if the Chiefs are to win a Super Bowl, they will have to "execute much better on offense." The 22nd ranked offense has struggled moving the ball and with careless turnovers. If not for the outstanding defensive play, Kansas City would probably have 5 or 6 wins. The Chiefs title hopes likely rest on the shoulders of Matt Cassel. Whether he steps up or not remains to be seen.
