The Kansas State Wildcats stumble out of the gates in their season opener against the University of Buffalo. KSU found themselves down 22-15 at the half against a team that had no where near the talent of Coach Baker's boys. "I told them that in order to play like champions we can never underestimate any opponent, which is something we did in the firs half" said Coach Baker. This game was really a tale of two halfs as the Cats' came out and played up to the level they were cable of after halftime. They outscored the Bulls 24-3 in the second half led by a dominate rushing attack, HB John Hubert rushed for 97 yards on 16 carries and QB Colin Klein rushed for 54 yds and was solid in the air throwing for 137 yds and 2 td's on of which he tossed to WR Chris Harper on a fade route. The Wildcat defense chipped in with a score of their own when JR CB Dorrian Roberts picked off a pass and took it to the house 40 yds. The Cats' will be idle next week, before coming back to face the Houston Cougars to open Big 12 play.

The "Cardiac Cats" pull the rabbit out of the hat once again, outlasting their bitter rival and border brother's from Lawrence 34-31 in Manhattan. KU played as if this was their National Champion, rushing for 150+ and intercepting K-State QB Colin Klien 4 times, two of which were taken back for touchdowns. Inspite of those 4 turnovers Klien still threw for 234 yds, completing 65% of his passes and thrown 2 td's. He would also show his effectiveness as a runner adding 72 yds and a td. On the receiving end WR Tremaine Thompson would dazzle the Wildcat faithful with 4 recs for 119 yds and a 77 yd td. JR RB
