Sneaky little course Mission Hills is...
I just finished my first practice round at Mission Hills. It's not a terribly hard course, you just gotta know where to miss if you're gonna miss. Some of the greens have tricky little breaks so you have to really take your time reading putts. I shot a 69 which I will take every time on a first play through of a course.
just finshed my first round at mission hills with a score of 55 over , its remind of doral at blue monster , during this tournment , get your driver out for par 5 but get ur irons and short yard clubs for shorter par 4s
Just to be clear, do we have to use an LPGA golfer or can we use our own CAG?
Any golfer.. Your CAG or any PGA or LPGA pro if you want to rock with a lady
Thanks. I just wanted to make sure because of it is the Kraft Nabisco. I didn't want to accidentally use my CAG while everyone else is using women and you guys looking at my driving distance and accusing me of using PEDs
Started off good just like last week.. WTF.... -5!!
Finished my first round with +3. I'm very happy with this score after last week LOL
Went even par for the 2nd round.
Getting sick and tired of the loading screen spinning and doing nothing between holes. I had a great start before this locked up again.
EDIT - Apparently the PSN went down and this may have caused the freeze. Great timing. Juuuuust great.
If anyone is going to be playing - I'm teeing off here in the next couple minutes.
Mission Hills is nice course. Accuracy is gold, power + luck works too. I was in trees few times but managed to scramble pretty well. I switched few clubs before the round and threw away the hybrid since I personally hate hybrid clubs in real life. Brand new 1-iron felt pretty good when escaping from trees, I hit a nice 120-yard 2 feet high shot between trees to fairway and managed to make a birdie on one par 5.
Posted a -7 despite one waterball on that par 3 which has sort of island green, 14th maybe? Shot of the day was a 175 yard mid-iron from rough to 4 feet from the hole on par 5 2nd, got a flying start with an eagle. That score was little low compared to how I played on back 9, I was in trouble off the tee many times but managed to scramble on every occasion...
8 am pacfic time psn is under maintence until 8 pm pacfic time
1 Iron really?
Yeah well just trying it out, I'll probably replace it with 5W.
There's couple of -10's posted in first round, I kinda knew that -7 wasn't that good. Winning score is going to be ugly this week it seems...
Haha Tandor you set the bar pretty high last week in that tournament! We're just trying to keep up with you.
Better.I'm directing this to everyone not just you,so don't feel I'm singling you out.
Use common sense guys! We don't have a lot of rules in the way most of the leagues around here have.
This being said even this year it is obvious the game is too easy for plenty of players.I'll expect you
stuff like equipment and sometimes gameplay to be like these used in the Pro Tours.
I think if you went full Sim and turned green grids off (I honestly don't even use them when they are on) and put the fading strike meter on, the scores would come down a little. But it would make it harder on those who are struggling on the current settings.
Tiger uses a delofted 2 iron for the U.S. and British Open and a few other courses.
It's mostly the fading marker. There is absolutely no penalty for the better players for missing fairways and greens when you can make solid shot to get out of trouble.
And Phil got 2 drivers and sometimes no driver. We can do this all day.
Tiger's 2 iron was used for tee shots instead of drivers/3 wood.Highly doubt he will take it out( and land it softly) for a 260 yard 2 nd shot on a par 5.
