I saw a Chris & Neef mixtape the other day. That's State Property right?

Yes sir... thought with most people being from 'other than the tri-state' area they would float past people thoughts... Chris is a young version of Jay-Z(that's where Shawn Carter got his flow from) but no one ever gives these dudes any chances on the mainstream... Chris can have that crossover (to radio) appeal... Neef is a little too street but Chris can put 'em on the map.... Chris just needs that stamp of approval but it looks like Jay will never give it to 'em.... instead he gives it to Wayne and Drake.... which they can rap so its not bad.... but when you have Gucci Mane, Waka Flaka, and OJ the Juiceman 'running' hip hop we seriously have a problem... I miss my 'East Coast' hip hop... all we have right now that's making noise (gettin' paper) is Nicki Minaj.... I know the West Coast is probably in the same boat.... nothing against the South because some dudes can actually rap (Wayne,Scarface,LudaCris,Rick Ross to name a few) but most of that 'crunk' music is nothing that represents the art of hip hop. Yeah up north and out west we kill a lot of people in our lyrics but most of that is real life experiences and stuff most people where I'm from can relate to. But its not all bad... Jadakiss had people in the library with "Why?"... Styles P has a couple of joints that speak to the young inner city urban youth... none of that ever gets airplay but I have to listen to Waka say "Boom Pow Pow Waka Waka Flaka I go hard in the paint"? No flow, no delivery, no lyrics... up north you'll STILL get booed off the stage if you can't rap (see OJ the Juiceman, lol)


PS- Lil Jon killed hip hop because he showed people they can sell without rapping and start their own label.

Admittedly I don't know a lot about State Property other than they were in Rocafella and for whatever reason never took off mainstream. The song "Can't Stop, Won't Stop" is still one of my favorites though and the reason I recognized their names was because in that song they say 'it's the young gunner, chris and lil neefy'.

PS - If I hear "Go Hard in the Paint" one more time I'm going to puke.
