    BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!
The LA Dodgers did something this week that they have not done in two seasons. They signed their Draft Picks!!!!!!! You read that right, The Dodgers signed their picks. Does this mean the Dodgers see that distant light at the end of the tunnel? Maybe but the organization is still far from it. Lets introduce the new members:
    Round 1: 1B Guibert Cavallaro
The Dodgers did not have much money to spend so they needed each pick to be 'bang for their buck' and they got it with Cavallaro. A lot people questioned the move but it also makes sense from a depth point of view. Their is really no one coming up the ranks to give current 1B Matt Bass help and Cavallaro will be that guy. Coach Saw loved his ability to hit in college and he thinks it will translate well in the pros. Even though he is not a defensive mastermind he will contribute to the lineup in a few years.
    Round 1: SP Miguel Bello
Another head turner the organization went with Miguel 'Racetrack' Bello with their 2nd pick in the 1st Round. The reason being is that Bello is slated to start out as a SP but will eventually become a MR guy. This may be true but with the pitches he has now he should be serviceable on either route.
    Round 1: CF Jose Hernandez
Finally LA landed a guy the experts loved. Hernandez can play LF, CF, RF and he can pitch! Talking with Coach Saw he is looking to push him over to RF. Everyone in LA is hyped and cannot wait to Jose Ramano and Jose Hernandez in the OF together.
    Round 2: MR Many Flores
With their run of the mill, johnny full staff bullpen Flores was the right pick here. His movement is what caught the eyes of the Dodgers. With his fastball and curveball being the only two pitches he throws he will need a lot of movement to keep batter off balanced. Throwing in the mid 90s with this kind of potential could turn into a deadly Setup or Closer.
    Round 3: 3B Hyun-Il Han
He was the BPA. Could be a potential power with a high gap and home run power, but he could also just turn into a platoon guy.

Bass Represents Dodgers in All-Star Game
    [IMG]
    1B Matthew Bass (6'2"/245lb)
In 71 games the lefty has continued his tear in the big leagues. Posting up a .324 AVG, 8 HR, 33 RBIs, .944 OPS, and his decent defense got him in the 2020 All-Star Game. "We are proud of him" Coach Saw said and he would later be quoted saying, "He is the heart of the team right now and has put us on his back. The youngster is going to have a mighty fine career here in LA."
At 23 years old Bass has improved dramatically from when he first got into the league. The scouts had him at .5* potential with a very weak eye, contact, and power hitting ability and boy did that change after his first season. Bass quickly maneuvered his way to a 3.5* potential after on year and after that the sky has been the limit. Here in LA we believe that this will not be the only time you see Matthew Bass in an all star game.

    Harold Fowler Retires After Injury
    [IMG]
A couple of days after tearing his labrum Dodger OF Harold Fowler announced his retirement today. The 26 year old was quoted, "You know the Doctor told me it would take an 8 month minimum to come back but I would not be the same again. So I decided to hang up the cleats and try to make it big in poker." Fowler ended his career with .235 AVG, 292 Hits, 48 Doubles, 7 Triples, 12 HRs, 99 RBIs, 150 Runs and 229 stolen bases.
With the Dodgers already struggling with injuries and not having the talent in the minors this is a dent of a blow. Fowler struggled for the most part but with his speed he was always dangerous on the base path. "The kid could flat out run and his defense was great. But as a team we have to move on and seek out other options for next year, Coach Saw said. The Dodgers will look once again in the FA Pool to snag some mediocre talent until they can develop players in the minors.

LA Dodgers End Season on High Note
The stage was set for the Dodgers to play spoilers and just almost did before losing their final game to the Miami Marlins. Even though LA missed the playoffs once again the season was not a total wash. Ending on a 7-5 sim they were placed at #21 in the power rankings, highest spot all year, and was able to win 2 more games than last year.
"Our goal was to do better than last year and we accomplished it. I do not care that it was only two games, all I care is about confidence in the locker room. Next year we will be trying to accomplish the same thing. It is looking like we will be bringing up a couple of players next year and we are hoping to shop some to bring in more talent." Coach Saw said. Two games better is progress but it is very minimal so you can say the Dodgers are definitely grasping straws to keep morale and their confidence up.

Thanks for playing extra hard the first two games for wins and then being tired on the last game of the season, allowing me to win and win the NL East.

Ken 'Awesome' Endacott Named #1 Prospect

Ken will start in Triple AAA Albuquerque this year as the ace pitcher. He has started to progess nicely as he improved his stamina, control and movement. If he improves at this rate he could be seeing the big leagues in no time.
