Oregon stays hot with a whipping of Washington State. This game was never in doubt. The Ducks started the scoring off with 2 big plays in the 1st quarter. LaMichael James took a hand-off and scampered for 74 yards and a score. Darron Thomas would then hit Lavasier Turner for a 60 yard TD when the WSU corner back tried to play bump-n-run without safety help. The 2nd quarter was much the same. It was highlighted by a Lache Seastrunk 92 yard kickoff return for a score. Oregon would lead at the half 31-6. The second team got to see the field for most of the 2nd half of this blowout.

The Duck defense was dominating again although they did blow a few coverages to give up 310 yards through the air. They were able to sack the WSU quarterback 8 times on the afternoon. This makes two games in a row that they put up that total. Terrell Turner, Dion Jordan, and Wade Keliikipi each had two sacks. Rickey Heimuli and Bo Lokombo each tallied one.

Oregon will have a bye week before traveling to California to face Andrew Luck and the Stanford Cardinal in week 12.

    Key Stats:

    Darron Thomas - 12-17 207 yards 2 TDs
    LaMichael James - 9 carries 119 yards 1 TD
    Lache Seastrunk - 11 carries 45 yards 1 TD 3 KR 136 yards 1 TD
    Lavasier Tuinei - 3 catches 86 yards 1 TD
    Terrell Turner - 5 tackles 5 TFLs 2 sacks 1 FR
    Dion Jordan - 6 tackles 2 TFLs 2 sacks 1 deflection 1 FF

Floyd of Rosedale Comes Back to Iowa City

    Iowa 35
    Minnesota 0

As sweet as winning Floyd back is, the Hawkeyes continue to be one-dimensional as QB James Vandenberg fails at college football. HB Marcus Coker goes down early in the game for the second time in two weeks while backup HB DeAndre Johnson steps up with the Iowa defense to destroy the Golden Gophers.

    #9 Ohio State 38
    #23 Wisconsin 23

Ohio State headed to Camp Randall for the second straight year and avenged last season's loss. The Buckeyes led 17-0 in the second quarter and 24-7 at the half behind the 2-headed RB monster of Herron and Berry. Wisconsin decided to turn to God mode in the second half and ran plays where a pass was called and the QB scrambled every play. If it wasn't a QB scramble, then the Wisconsin offensive line would pancake 3 people and James White would run up the middle. The story of the game was the Buckeye offensive line, which blocked for 300+ rushing yards.

Next up for the Bucks is doormat Indiana in the 'Shoe.

    Bye Week

Tough decisions coming up for recruiting.

The three stars I'm going after are on the verge of getting offers, but those spots may end up being reserved for future recruits in the winter or next season. They all will need to prove their value (some how).

I'll be getting my game in tomorrow evening, methinks. Also: Wisconsin has been getting whooped. I almost feel bad for them, but then I quickly realize how much I loathe them.

South Bend, IN -- Notre Dame continues to roll pounding Navy in South Bend this evening. WR Michael Floyd put on a spectacle today posting 5 catches for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns. It wasn't so much the numbers as the way he did it that stood out this evening. We're talking 2 one handed grabs in the rain over the middle and a play in which he jumped out of his shoes for a ball.

"Michael is a dangerous weapon to have, and we're fortunate to have him." Coach Kelly exclaimed after the game this evening. "He's a hard worker, great at practice, and it shows on the field."

Notre Dame's defense was able to absolutely shut down the Midshipmen this evening holding them to 3 1st downs and 114 total yards. The Irish were also able to rack up 5 sacks on the day including two more by DT Louis Nix, a freshman who is absolutely dominating the line of scrimmage this season. Dayne Crist had his best game of the season going 7 for 9 with 135 yards and 3 touchdowns, and most importantly, 0 interceptions.

Cierre Wood had another strong effort racking up 118 yards on 25 carries and backup running back Jonas Grey had 12 carries for 55 yards. Next week the Irish face a very hot Washington team in which should be a big test for the Irish.

I like that idea. I think each season the slacker thread should be named after the biggest slacker of the past season.

So 2012 Slacker thread would be the "FacePlant City Slacker thread" and 2013 would be whoever slacks off most for 2012. :)

    Georgia 20
    Florida 17

Georgia's offense was shut down on the opening drive but the defense's offense grabbed some points. Florida's QB Brantley was stripped of the football and Georgia LB Washington scooped up the ball. Washington dashed to the endzone and Florida's offense was unable to catch up. Brantley made up for this mistake by making Georgia's defense look VERY BAD. The Bulldogs were in Cover 2 but neither the CB or FS decided to cover WR1 on the streak. Rainey was 40 yards past any Georgia defender when he made the catch. He could have back flipped his way to the end zone. The defenses locked down after this drive and very little happened till the end of the first half. Georgia finally put a long drive together and FB Ogletree punched in the score from a yard away. Despite having just a minute left Florida got into field goal range and kicked a short field goal.

    Halftime Score 14-10

Georgia's defense locked down Florida for most of the second half. Unfortunately the offense could only manage a couple field goals so the Bulldogs held just a 10 point lead. With about 90 seconds left in the game, Georgia's defense finally tired out. The Gators easily marched down the field and scored on a short pass from Driskel to Demps. This brought the Georgia lead to just 3 points with just under 1 minute left. Florida was out of timeouts so an onside kick was the team's last chance. Fortunately for Georgia fans the Bulldogs recovered the kick.

    Final Score 20-17

Offense Player of the Game -
