    Week 11

    N'western: 35
    Michigan: 17

N'western wins once more at home, leaving Michigan in the freeze cold, with nothing but the bitter feeling of defeat. This game started with a Michigan possession that was lack-luster at best: Speed opt run for -6 yards and an interception by N'western, who would convert the int with a Treyvon Green touchdown run. Colter was accurate in air but deadly to the wildcats in the redzone, throwing two interception. Colter made-up for his turnovers in the 4th quarter, throwing two TD passes (C Jones for 6 yards and E. Watkins 36 yards). The running game did its damage too, a team total 33 attempt for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns. Green and Perkins are both in route to eclipse the 1000 mark and double digit touchdowns ( Perkins 13 rushing TD's :: Green 8)

N'western travels to East Lansing Michigan next week to take on division rival Michigan St. who, though having a rough start to the season, has come on strong to close-out. If N'western wins at MSU they clinch the division and earn the right to compete for the B1G title.

"I want to congratulate my boys for winning a tough football game today. We were behind for a portion of the 4th and did not let-up. We have had a really terrific season thus far, and I do not ant to take anything away from them for this win...But we know whats next, we know we have to win, and we will.

----its always nice to beat Michigan :)" -Coach Mooney

    Washington - 34
    Utah - 14

It was a battle of #1 and #2. Two teams who were not predicted to do nearly this well when the season started. The game started with a very long drive by the Huskies, capped off with a field goal when they were unable to pick up the last five yards needed to score. The Utes would put together a pretty solid drive of their own, but would get it into the end zone to go up 7-3. Washington would go on to score two consecutive TDs, making the game look like it might be slipping away from the Utes. The second was scored on a long pass over a linebacker to TE Austin Sefarian-Jenkins. Utah would use a roughing the passer call to help spring a rally, and score in under a minute. This left 18 seconds on the clock. Kasen Williams got a decent return. Utah jumped offsides on the hard count, and Price took a risk, throwing it deep to Kasen Williams despite solid coverage. It was a brilliant throw, Williams was able to get under it and beat the defender there by about half a step, then turned on the burners and beat the man for a TD. Halftime score: 24-14. From there, nothing too exciting happened. Utah would put together some decent drives, but they'd stall. Washington would do the same, but were able to add on 10 more points as a security layer.

This game wasn't as close as the score indicated. I got hit with the "you arent winning this game" cpu. I was down 42-14 when the cpu decided to coast.

    Maryland 34
    Clemson 35

This game was a defensive debacle in clemson. Nobody could stop shit as both teams but up over 400 yards of offense. The clemson HB was a greek god rushing for over 200 yards and nearly untouched. Maryland took control late until some of the most BS crap happened I have ever seen in an NCAA game... I was up 6 with 2 minutes left looking to run out clock because they could not stop anything... and I get FOUR holding penalties in a row, no lie. It went from 2nd n 3 to 1st and 34 on my own 10. I then am forced to punt because of this BS and their BACKUP QB is in due to injury and still leads them to the winning TD on my defense. To add salt to the wound on the ensuing kickoff with 10 seconds left we get ANOTHER holding penalty killing a good return. -_________-. The refs did not want us to win today. Maryland is now 7-4 and dropped 2 in a row. Things get no easier as we play FSU next week.

Cavaliers Steal One On The Road
Normally when you throw 5 INT's and only rush for 74 yards on the road, you lose. Not the case this week in a triple overtime thriller in Miami. We started off the game with two of our best drives of the year putting up 14 points on 14 plays. 14-3 Cavaliers going into the second quarter. Miami answered back to start the second with their first TD drive of the game. After a Michael Rocco interception they were right back in business and they punched in another TD to take the lead 17-14 with 5:07 to play in the half. The rest of the second half was a defensive battle with the Hurricanes finishing with a nice two minute drill to set-up a easy 25 yard FG. 20-14 Miami going into the half.
The Hurricanes started right where they left off on a long TD drive to put them up 27-14. After a 3 and out from our offense to start the 3rd quarter for us, the defense intercepted Sammy Morris to jump-start our second half comeback. Starting HB Perry Jones suffered an injury and will miss 8 weeks but the backup came in and scored from 2 yards out to cut the deficit to only 6. Next Miami possession our DT Marco Jones leveled Sammy Morris causing him to fumble and DT Will Hill scooped it up and ran it 12 yards in for the score and we were back on top 28-27 entering the 4th.
In the fourth our defense continued to play bend but don't break defense as our offense had to settle to for 2 short FG's to stretch our lead to 7 with 3:23 to play. The Hurricanes would not quit and marched the length of the field to tie the game up on a 3 yard run from HB Mike James with only 57 seconds to play. Our two minute drill stalled and we headed into overtime all tied up at 34.
In the first overtime we each scored two quick TD's to send us into the second frame of OT. We started with the ball in the second OT and moved inside Miami's 15 yard line, that's when Michael Rocco threw his 5th INT of the game and looked to seal the Miami win. Miami got the ball and in two plays they had it first and goal. After two runs came up short they decided to pass on 3rd and goal instead of kicking the easy game winning FG, Sammy Morris dropped back and was hit by DT Marco Jones who forced his second fumble of the game and we recovered to force a 3rd OT. We quickly scored in the 3rd OT on 4 plays and ran in the 2pt conversion to give us an 8pt lead and ALL of the momentum. Miami was forced to a 4th and 18 which was incomplete and we won in the most unlikely of finishes. Not exactly proud of the way he won but the defense made a huge play when given the opportunity. Ill take the W anyway I can get it.
Offensive Player of the Game: TE Colton Phillips 4 catches for 71 yards and a TD
Defensive Player of the Game: DT Marco Jones 2 tackles 2 sacks 2 forced fumbles
Next week we return home to play the UNC Tar Heels. This game will have huge ACC title implications as it is a must win for us. If we win and win next week against VA Tech we will head to the ACC title game. If UNC wins they will go to the title game. Should be a great match-up.
