    Spartans Win 35-25 at Gophers

Starting QB Andrew Maxwell went down injured for a portion of this game as did starting RB Bell.
The Spartan squad would not let that stop them! The team hung on and Maxwell returned to have a huge day and lead the team to victory!
Hill and Langford carried the load on the ground without missing a beat while the receivers tore shit up!

Huskies Win Apple Cup, Finish Regular Season Undefeated

The Huskies were able to defeat instate rivals Washington State and finish their regular season undefeated. Keith Price pieced together another good game, throwing for 249 yards and 3 TDs. No single person ran the ball extremely well for Washington, but as a team they picked up 146 yards on 30 carries. Austin Sefarian Jenkins had his best game of the season, catching 6 passes for 132 yards and a TD. This guy is just a sophomore, so if he can continue to improve, the Washington offense will only get better. The pass rush for Washington was really sub par compared to what we've seen the rest of the season. They were able to get 5 sacks, but two of them were on botched screens and aside from those plays, the Huskies really struggled to put pressure on Tuel. However, Washington was able to make up for it by limiting the WSU run game to -47 yards. The sacks accounted for -42, but the defense was able to hold WSU RB Galvin to -5 yards on 9 attempts.
Washington will face the Utah Utes in a rematch in the PAC-12 title game. They are currently ranked 6th, but are likely to move up if they win, so there's a good chance the winner of the game will find themselves in the BCS title game.

The battle for the Commonwealth Cup was fought in a driving rainstorm in the desert of Tucson. The game started great for the Sun Devils, as Arizona's QB Scott fumbled the ball on the first play from scrimmage and it was returned for a TD. The Sun Devils returned another fumble for a TD to secure the win late in the 3rd quarter. Both offenses were ineffective most of the game. The Sun Devils finish the year 7-5, with a 4 game win streak to close the season. It was a great recovery after an 0-4 start.

    34-28 Hokies
    [IMG]
Blacksburg at night is never easy, add snow and a Top 10 Hokie team and you have quite a task. The Hokies boast one of the nations top 5 defenses and they showed it early on. Both teams did for that matter. The whole first half was spent playing the field position game and with both teams having red zone turnovers. The Hokies managed to run one in late in the second quarter to take a 7-0 lead to the half.

The second half was a completely different game. The Hokies QB Logan Thomas came out firing in the 3rd quarter with a 70 yard TD pass to Dyrell Roberts. The Hokies then got the ball back and was able to tack on three more on a 23 yard FG. The Cavaliers answered back with a big play of our own, Rocco hit Darius Jennings for an 82 yard TD pass to put us on the board, now down 17-7. After a good defensive stop we struck big through the air again on a 61 yard TD to Miles Gooch. After cutting it to 3 going into 4th the Hokies jump back out to a 10 point lead on a Michael Holmes 20 yard TD run. Big play after big play continues as we answer back with a 72 yard TD to Darius Jennings, back within 3. The Hokies make probably the play of the game on a 73 yard TD on a screen play to WR Dyrell Roberts (who finished the game with 5 catches 203 yards and 2 TD's). After Virginia Tech kills most of the clock in the 4th we score a 12 yard TD to WR Michael Gooch cutting the lead to 3 with 1:49 left to play. Virginia Tech recovers the onside kick and kick a FG with one second left to win by 6.

Tough road loss for the team but this is one for the fans to remember. The Cavaliers never quit even though it seemed they were clearly outmatched. Not many teams leave Blacksburg with a win at night.

Offensive Players of the Game: Michael Rocco 24-37 442 yards 4TD's and 1 INT (UVA single game passing yards record) & WR Darius Jennings 5 catches 178 yards and 2 TD's. Rocco now also holds the UVA single season passing yards record) Congratulations to him and this group of young receivers.
Defensive Player of the Game: MLB Steve Greer 13 tackles

Bowl Projections before this game had us going to the Belk Bowl where we could potentially play Temple.

The Colorado defense didn't play well today as they let Utah throw the ball around for over 400 passing yards. Fortunately the Utah defense played worse and allowed WR Paul Richardson to catch 5 passes for a single game record 260 yards and 3 TDs. In the first half. He didn't catch anything after that thanks to the offensive line starting to play shoddy in the second half but CU was able to move the ball well and was complimented on the ground with 3 TD from HB Tony Jones. QB Nick Hirschman ended his day with 4 TD passes and almost 400 yards passing himself.

It was a good win to end the season against a rival and the Buffaloes look to wrap up their recruiting next week with a bye on the schedule.
