Well I don't have a team to compete this year. No receivers, no quarterbacks,no offensive line and apparently no defense. Wide open receivers all day long but BOTH QB's overthrew their targets or the crap receivers would drop an easy catch. I had a chance to win and as I walked easy into the endzone what do you know, a clipping call and its all the way back to the 50 yard line. I had success with the run game only when I was down and not about to take the lead. I managed to fight my way downfield and score a late game tying field goal to force overtime. BC easily walked untouched into the endzone and then Miami tried to get the run game going again but lost 3 yards after what seemed like good blocks fell instantly apart. 2 downs later after two receivers dropped easy passes it's 4th and 13. Wide open receiver dancing in the endzone. Highsmith throws it and out of no-effing-where a linebacker (who I swear was up near the line trying to sack me) jumps in front of it for a deflection. Thank you EA for not removing the teleportation glitch. Not going to be a good year as I already hate this team.

In game one of the season Coach Big Suge Knight pulled Tate Forcier and replaced him with Devin Gardner. In game two this afternoon at UCLA, all three Michigan QBs saw playing time. Coach Knight rotated Gardner in during the first half and also played Denard Robinson int he second half. However late in fourth quarter UCLA knocked Robinson and Forcier from the game on the same drive with sternum and shoulder injuries. Gardner took advantage of their misfortune completing his final two passes, the last a 10 yard TD to Roy Roundtree with 16 seconds that put Michigan ahead 33 - 28. MVP for the game was Teric Jones who recovered the onside kick that was necessary after the Wolverines attempted to go ahead by a point but could not convert the two point try.

What a great game between two top 5 teams. The defense played tough for both teams throughout the entire game. Alabama smother the FSU rushing attack holding us to -3 yards on 19 attempts. FSU also kept the Tide rushing attack at bay with 51 yards. It helped that Trent Richardson went down midway through the game and did not return.

Florida State was able to take a 13-6 lead into the 4th quarter. A pair of Bama turnover gave us the opportunity to score. Willie Haulstead hauled in a 39 yard TD pass. Alabama kicker Foster had a 53 and 54 yard FG. Midway through the 4th FSU had a chance to take a 10 point lead, but our 50 FG attempt came up just short. Alabama was not going down without a fight and put together a nice drive that end in a Lacey 3 yard TD run with 1:34 left. Both teams would have the opportunity to win in regulation, but both QB's would throw INTs.

In OT, FSU won the toss and elected to play defense first. Alabama gained 1 first down before settling for a 37 yard FG. Florida State gets the win when EJ Manuel hit Brennan Marks out of the backfield for a 5 yard game winning TD pass.

    Key Stats:

    EJ Manuel 15/24 231 yards 2TD 1INT
Greg Reid 4 tackles 1 INT 1 DEFL
Chris Bush 3 tackles 1 sack

Yeah Oregon jumped out to a big lead and I was able to fight my way back into the game. It was a hard fought game and I came up just a little bit short in this one. I can't put blame on Newsome's shoulder. Aside from a terrible pick 6 he didn't turn the ball over and he passed for 360 yards. He also threw for 4 touchdown passes in this game, 3 in the second half.

    Oregon- 38
    Penn State- 35

Oregon jumped to a 28-14 halftime lead and looked to put the Nittany Lions away, but Penn State regrouped and was able to move the ball through the air after not having much success on the ground. With a chance to cut the game to 3, Newsome threw a careless INT that was returned for a TD to give the Ducks a 38-21 lead. Penn State scores 2 late TD's int he 4th but are unable to recover the onside kick attempt and ran out of time. The Ducks were lead by Barner with 200yds rushing and Thomas rushing for 134yds 2 TD and added 144yds 2 TD in the air.

    Auburn-28
    Va Tech-10

Auburn just absolutely dominated this game in every facet of the word. They got it done on all sides of the ball. Offensively the Tigers were clicking all day long, through the air and on the ground. Dyer was his usual self putting to rest talk of maybe his injury would hamper his ability this year. He ran the ball 22 times for 216 yards and 2 TDs. New qb Mosley was also dominant going 8-9 for 162 yards and 2 TDs of his own. Coming into this game the defense knew they had to stop the run and they did just that. Limiting the run game to just 73 yards 39 of which was from usually dominant RB Wilson. The pass game for the Hokies never left the airport. As the only amassed 95 yards through the air. Totaling just 168 yards of offense...

Coach DJ after the game: "We came in with a gameplan and we executed it to perfection. Absolute perfection!! We knew we had to contain the run by any means and we did that while also limiting the pass going man to man. We have a bye nxt week and after that no real challenge til Georgia. We will be undefeated heading into that game. We have 3 tough ones in a row with georgia coming to us then we head west to oregon and back this way to face Bama... So the road to the national title game will begin with those games..."

    #24 Georgia 27
    #16 Boise 16

Both teams seasons were ruined in this game. Boise's hopes of a BCS bowl were dismantled and Georgia lost starting QB Aaron Murray for the season and now has to play 3 consecutive SEC road games with a true freshman starting QB.

Ouch, tough loss for Georgia. You did fine with Murray as a starting freshman. Im sure you will do ok with the new kid.
