    LSU - 62
    UK - 10

LSU steamrolled Kentucky. The Tigers were able to pass the ball and run the ball with ease. Mettenberger completed 15/21 throws for 261 yards and 4 TDs. Once again, both Ford and Blue surpasses the 100 yard mark. Ware and Randle also contributed 40 and 17 yards respectively. In the receiving game, Randle, Boone, and Landry all had at least 3 catches and at least 70 yards. On the defense, Claiborne, Mingo, Barrow, Edwards, Downs, Vinson, and Simon had at least 1/2 of a sack for a total of 5 on the day. Kentucky had some decent plays in the air, but were not very consistent and coucln't run the ball, which hurt their offense quite a bit. Jakhari "Al" Gore also notched his first punt return for a TD. He is the 2nd player in the NCAA (first user) to take one to the house this season. He looks as though he may have a shot at winning Returner of the Year. Sorry about the TD as time expired... I had my guy take the hand off and step back, but when he got hit he did a fall forward animation and fell in from like the 5 yard line.

Next week LSU will host Florida in a big SEC match up. The Gators are currently the number 14 team in the country.

I have a crap load of recruits visiting this week (6), so this advance will be a big determiner in how my class ends up at the end of the season.

    Some Notable players:
    #1 HB Steve Smith
    #2 DT Tye Abrams
    #1 DE Charles Davis
#2 OLB Ted Richardson (battling Georgia for this guy)
    #11 DT Sheldon Hampton

The rest of my guys don't get to visit until I find out if those guys are signing... the #1 FS will visit next week, assuming he doesn't sign with Auburn or Georgia (has a soft to Auburn, visits Georgia this week).

    Irish Blast Boilermakers

South Bend, IN -- Notre Dame was tested early coming off a tough loss against the #1 ranked Oregon Ducks. "It was important that the guys kept their heads. They were able to do so. I am proud of the team today." Stated Coach Kelly after Notre Dames 38 - 10 walloping of Purdue this evening. Purdue was able to jump out to a 10 point lead shortly after the start of the second quarter. However, one play from Heisman hopeful Cierre Wood was able to turn the Irish fortunes around. Cierre Wood was able to make a move at the line of scrimage on a dive play which sent him off to the races for a 75 yard touchdown run. Later in the quarter QB Dayne Crist hits speedster Davaris Daniels on an 80 yard pass play for another touchdown to make the score 14-10.

Stellar defensive play and tough running was able to propel Notre Dame to the win and a 4-2 record 3-1 in Big 10 play. Next week the Irish face a tough test against the Buckeyes.

    #4 Georgia 41
    #3 Mississippi State 24

The first half of this game was a heavyweight battle with both sides trading punches. MSU struck first with a long TD run by QB Russell. MLB Robinson was spying on the play but he was tossed off by Russell. On the ensuing kickoff Seay grabbed his second return TD of the season. This return was 95 yards. MSU added a field goal and left the first quarter with a 10-7 lead. Shortly into the second quarter Georgia took the lead. Sophomore HB Crowell scored his first TD of the day, but he would visit many times in this game. Russell again got MSU in the end zone, this time a short pass to WR Bumphis. Georgia tied the game at 17 so the battle would be decided in the second half.

Georgia got the ball first and the offense started rolling. Crowell once again punched in the short score, his second TD of this game. After a stop by the defense it was Crowell again scoring a TD. This time he broke a run up the middle and scored from 39-yards. Going into the fourth quarter UGA had a 31-17 lead but Mississippi State wasn't ready ti give up. Even with Russell hurt, MSU added another score. QB #2 Prescott hooked up with WR Smith on a short TD pass. This closed the gap to 7 but Crowell wasn't done. On the next drive he scored from one yard, his fourth and final TD of the game. Georgia's defense stopped Mississippi State and the offense added a field goal.

With the win Georgia moves to 4-0 on the season. Tennessee is next on the schedule. The Bulldogs will be favorites in that game but anything can happen in rivalry matches.

UofM Rebounds, Destroys TCU at home
    bain.jpg

    #19 Michigan 46
    #6 TCU 10

Michigan hosted the Horned Frogs under the lights and grabbed them by their horns and proceeded to smash them into the ground out-gaining them in yardage 408 to 162. TCU was held to -5 rushing yards on the day. Denard has a solid day throwing 2 TDs before going out like a pussy with a MILD concussion. Gardner would come in first play and throw a bomb to freshman WR Bain for a TD. Bain led the WR corps with 124 YDs and a TD. WR Timmons, the other freshman WR also caught a 64 YD TD. TCU would score its only TD late on some cheap bullshit. Michigan now goes on a BYE then head to Lansing to mop the floor with our special little brother.

Check out this hilarious TD reception from the game as well:

    USC (24) vs. California (17)

USC came out knowing that Cal took then to the brink last season. And this season was no different.

DJ Morgan opened up the scoring with a DJ Morgan 33 yard TD run that put the Trojans up 7-0.

Cal would answer back with a quick TD drive. But USC would make sure they ended the 1st quarter up 14-7 on a 31 yard lob for a TD, Barkley to Woods for there 4th hookup of the season.

After a USC FG extended the lead to 10, Cal scored prior to halftime to cut the lead to 3.

Feeling that the next TD would win, on the first USC offensive play of the 2nd half, Barkley to Woods again, this time on a 66 yard bomb that would seal the deal and a 24-17 USC victory.

Next week the Trojans face the Washington Huskies in what could be the deciding game in the Pac-12 South.

Oregon shuts out Washington to stay undefeated in the PAC 12

Oregon was able to keep Washington from doing much of anything on the afternoon. It seemed like the Ducks called the right play defensively on every play. They were able to keep the normally explosive Chris Polk from getting into any kind of rhythm; holding him to only 39 yards on 10 carries. The Ducks defense also harassed Keith Price by sacking him 6 times and forcing 1 interception.

The Duck offense did not have any one person stand out. Darron Thomas went 9 for 16 for 116 yards and was sacked 1 time. Kenjon Barner and Lache Seastrunk combined for 103 yards and 2 TDs.

    Key Stats:

    Lache Seastrunk - 8 carries 45 yards 2 TDs
    Bryce Glover - 4 tackles 3 TFLs 2 sacks 1 FF
    Michael Clay - 6 tackles 1 TFL 1 sack 1 deflection

You destroyed me, cnic75. I feel bad that I didn't put up a better fight ;-)

Your team is ridiculously fast and that defense was impossible for me to penetrate.

    #5 Wisconsin 14
    Iowa 52

Iowa QB James Vandenberg put Wisconsin up early with an interception being returned 56 yards for a TD to start the game. Iowa's next possession was a long drive that ended with a Vandenberg TD pass to WR Keenan Davis and a 7-7 game. Wisconsin answered with an 80 yard TD run on the first play of the next drive and would end the quarter up 14-7.

Iowa would tie on the first play of the second quarter with a 20 yard TD to freshmen WR E.J. Turner. The next Wisconsin drive ended when freshmen SS Danny Weddle jumped in front of a corner route, broke a tackle, and took the interception 74 yards to the house to put Iowa up 21-14. This broke Wisconsin's back and they never recovered, Iowa would take a 24-14 lead into halftime. Iowa extended the lead in the third with a TD, and again in the fourth with another TD, then Wisconsin would give up in the last three minutes of the game and gave up two more TDs to make it even more of a blowout.

Another problem might've been the couple of beers I had after the show...

But it made me more angry during the game. Haha.
