Maryland was a fiesty bunch and had the home crowd behind them. They were able to jump out to a 10-0 lead that was fueled by an EJ Manuel redzone INT and a fumble on a kick return by CB Greg Reid. The offense had trouble moving the ball most of the game. Manuel was missing wide open recievers, and the line was not providing any running room for Brendan Marks. Late in the first half we finally were able to get on the board when Marks added a 1 yard TD run. The 3rd quarter saw FSU's offense continue to struggle, but our D was tough all game long. We held the Maryland offense to 150 yards of total offense. Thanks to this, we were working with decent field position most of the game. FSU finally took the lead when Marks added his 2nd TD of the day on a 3 yard run.

4th quarter was not much different. Up 14-10, FSU was driving trying desperately to score a TD and put this game away. No such luck, we settled for a field goal and a 7 point lead with 2 minutes to go. It was up to the defense to put the game away and thats exactly what they did. Senior DE Toshmon Stephens came through and sacked the Maryland QB for the 7 time in the game, this time for a saftey. We were able to kneel the ball out. The D may have just saved our NC hopes for the year. True Freshman DE Chris Bush was the man leading the defense as he tallied 5 sacks and constantly pressured the Maryland QB.

Next week we host NC State.

    Key Stats:
HB Brendan Marks 136 total yards 2TD
DE Chris Bush 6 Tackles, 5 Sacks, FF
DE Toshmon Stephens 4 tackles, 1 Sack, 1 Saftey

    Alabama - 33
    Mississippi State - 19

Alabama's defense makes this game closer than it should have been. Mississippi State put up almost 350 total yards. Montrell Conner shredded the Bama defense for 121 rushing yards on the day. Tyler Russell threw for 203 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Crimson Tide did have a couple of bright spots in the game. Tana Patrick racked up 12 tackles (7 TFL), 3 sacks and a safety. Cedric McCoy helped out with 7 tackles (3 TFL) and 2 sacks.

The offense leaned on A.J. McCarron and Trent Richardson. McCarron went 19 for 28 with 271 yards and 2 TDs. Unfortunately, he was sacked once and lost two fumbles. Richardson carried the ball 29 times for 137 yards and 2 scores. He also caught 4 balls for 46 yards.

Alabama will travel Vandy next week for another SEC showdown.

    UCLA - 31
    Washington - 3

Both teams come out evenly and Washington does a great defensive job in the first quarter. Washington's HB Polk dominated the rushing game and lead very impressive drives that would stall inside the 20 each time. UCLA's red zone defense was the only thing that kept the game from being too close.

However, once the 2nd quarter arrived, UCLA finally got their offense on track with QB Byron Bray going 16-22 for 301 yards and 4 TDs throughout the rest of the game. He would end up being the player of the game. His WR Jerry Johnson lead the team in Rec yards and put in 2 huge TDs.

After scoring in the third quarter one more time, UCLA ran the clock out and won in easy fashion.

QB Byron Bray has been on a hot streak and continues hitting WRs perfectly. However, both the O-line and the D-line have much to do before their big game against Oregon.

    Miami 35

    UNC 28

First off....FUCK UNC...I had a nice lead going into halftime and then BAM they go god mode and tie it up in less than 2 minutes. My team had fits for the remainder of the game. Young fumbled the ball twice in a row, one was recovered by the Tar Heels. He also threw another pick, adding to his grand total. Storm Johnson kept us in this game with huge gains on the ground and 3 TDs.

Miami earns their bowl game at 6-2( 4-2). A win over Va Tech and another loss for UVA and Miami will be heading to the ACC Champ Game. Miami invites the Hokies to Miami next week in a big matchup. I am rooting for whoever beats UVA..

    #2 USC 35
    Arizona St 28

USC headed to Arizona St this week and barely avoided the upset. Trouble started early when QB Matt Barkley went out with a separated shoulder and was replaced by QB Scroggins. Next HB Baxter went down for the game after rushing for over 100 yards. With the backup QB and Vickers in the game USC unleashed a new offense filled with option attacks and using QB Scroggins speed to an advantage. The game stayed close throughout with USC ahead until late with 1 minute left Arizona St scored a TD AND got the 2 point conversion to tie. We had 1 minute left and had to drive 70 yards so Coach Hova called Matt Barkley back in the game to lead the drive. He heroically drove the Trojans down the field to the 15 yard line with 7 seconds left. Barkley dropped back on the next play and hit WR Ambles in the endzone for the game winning TD. USC holds onto it's ranking and heads home next week to host Arizona.

QB Scroggins 6/11, 110 YDs, TD, 23 yds rushing
    QB Barkley 10/19 176 YDS, 2 TDs
    HB Baxter 143 YDS, TD

The Michigan Wolverines fresh of their upset of rival Michigan State returned home to take on the Hawkeyes of Iowa. A strong defensive effort provided the foundation for a Michigan victory led by timely interceptions by JT Floyd and Thomas Gordon. TE Brandon Moore provided early fireworks with a 52 yard catch and run for the games opening score. Devin Gardner was not spectacular on the afternoon but he was effective in spite of his two interceptions. Next up Michigan is a trip to Minnesota.

    Good game JC!

I'm benching my noodle arm QB Vandenburg for a true freshman for the season because of how you completely exploited the noodleness of his arm haha. Plus I just effin hate Vandenburg after the past three season of his limp-dick of a throwing arm...haha
