The story of the day was the damn near perfect day by MSU QB Andrew Maxwell.
MSU coaches were prepared for more poor throwing from Maxwelll today by installing a pistol based package for their mobile QB.
In the end MSU never used the pistol option package and stuck with the run-n-shoot out opf the shotgun all day.

    Maxwell went 23 of 25 for 368, 4TD and 1 INT!!
RB Hill was solid, only 40 yards on 12 attempts, but some good runs at the right time to keep the defense honest.
Hill also grabbed 3 passes to aid int he short passing department.

Not sure if it was the home crowd or the football gods being generous but Maxwell was inspired and just unbeatable today.

The 425 defense finally looked like a unit today. They were stingy at times forcing some punts and bent without breaking at other times to keep the Wildcats from scoring too often.

On the day NU didn't play poorly [zero turnovers] they just looked out-manned with MSU's talent loaded roster lead by a senior QB on fire.

The Huskies were able to beat ranked conference opponent UCLA by a score of 27-20. The game started with a punt for Washington, then an interception by UCLA. The Huskies would capitalize on a 49 yard run by Callier. UCLA put together a good drive of their own and tied the game up. Callier was able to make magic again and scored on a 52 yard run. Washington would score 10 more points in the half to make it 24-7. They would tack on a FG in the third as well. Washington looked to be in field goal range at the end of third, and coach Wickert wanted to call a timeout to keep the fields from switching, but he was unable to for some reason. The kicker ended up being short on the kick. The the 4th, the Bruins made it interesting. They scored a TD with 4 minutes left and another with 43 seconds left. They were able to recover the onside kick, but through an interception.

Illinois shuts Michigan's offense down in the Big House

The Fighting Illini are putting together a nice string of victories here early in the season, after a near upset against the top ranked team in the nation in week 1. Maybe Illinois is for real, or maybe they're just playing out of their minds for now. Either way, they rolled into Ann Arbor and laid a beat down on the Wolverines, holding them scoreless until under 1 minute left in the game. QB Nathan Scheelhaase threw for 142 yards, with a TD and no INTs, while also running for 82 yards to give the Illini a balanced rushing attack behind him and backup HB Josh Ferguson, who racked up 91 yards rushing and a TD. Michigan was only able to gain 5 rushing yards on the day, and 134 total yards on offense, their worst output of the year by far.
While Michigan struggled to get a first down, the Illini hit the run game hard. Illinois would finish the day with 171 rushing yards as a team, which allowed them to set the tempo, control the ball, and control the time of possession. The Illini opened up the scoring in the 1st quarter with a 32 yard touchdown run from Ferguson, which was followed by a short field goal as the half was coming to an end to put Illinois up 10-0 at the break. The 3rd quarter saw the Michigan offense continue to struggle, and Illinois would add another TD, this time through the air, to go up 17-0. A field goal and a quick safety would put the Illini up 22-0, essentially icing the game before Michigan would add a late TD.

The Buffaloes got a road victory today with a stellar second quarter on offense. QB Nick Hirschman and WR Paul Richardson connected 3 times in the second quarter for TDs and Richardson went into halftime with 4 receptions for 160 yards and 3 TDs. He would finish the day with 7 receptions, 204 yards, and 3 TDs and a Player of the Game award. Oregon State just couldn't sustain enough drives, going 3/11 on third down, and 1/3 on fourth down.

Dabo throws the head set after the Cavalier offense strikes late on a 59 yard TD pass to WR Tim Smith. The Clemson offense was unable to answer back in the final minute and Virginia steals one on the road in Death Valley.

WR Tim Smith was name player of the game after receiving for 179 yards and 2 TD's on only 6 catches..
Next week the Cavalier welcome the Auburn Tigers into town and look to stay unbeaten.

What a difference a year makes. Last season, Iowa and OSU went into overtime. This year, the game was an absolute blowout to the point that Iowa played its backups for the final quarter of play as it rolled to the easy home victory against what may possibly be the worst offense in football.

This game was a back and forth affair for the duration as the Terp hosted rival NSCU today. The Terps put up 515 yards of offense led by 397 passing by QB CJ Brown who also had 3 TDs but threw 2 INTs. Leading WR on the day was phenom freshman Diggs who had 116 yards on 6 catches for a TD. The offense was pretty much dominant all around minus the turnovers. On defense we were raped on the ground by HB Creecy. The NCSU QB was also near perfect on the day throwing no INTs even though we dropped about 5. Big 3rd downs and huge production by the offense got us this W. We now head to Blacksburg for a HUGE matchup with VA Tech. This game has been circled on the calendar since last years lost to the Hokies. We look to serve upset with a side of revenge.
