What a bad season to be short on scholarships available. I had 7 signings this week including 3 :5stars: and I have 6 more with soft commitments. It looks like I will be signing 10 recruits all from the ESPN 150, just have to decide which 3 I do not want.

    #2 Ohio State (4-0) @ #7 Penn State (4-1)

This was a hard fought game with few big yardage plays but a lot of clutch plays. Penn State struck first after holding the Buckeyes to a three and out on the first drive. The touchdown was punched in by Curtis Dukes. Ohio State answered back with a passing touchdown from Kenny Guiton. The Buckeyes converted several third downs on that drive before capping it off with the score. After Penn State was forced to settle for a field goal, Ohio State marched down the field again. Penn State once again had plenty of opportunities to make the stop but failed. The drive ended with another passing touchdown from Guiton. The score was 14-10 going into the half and the Penn State offense seemed out of sync. The coaching staff changed up the game plan and began focusing more on the run. Dukes and Kyle Goss were solid in this game. The focus on the run opened up some passing lanes for Bolden. He threw a strike to junior college transfer Johnathon Gray for the touchdown, giving Penn State a three point lead. The defense made a stop and the offense put together another long drive. It came down to a fourth and goal on the 1. Coach Bravejaf elected to pass up the field goal and go for the TD. Dukes punched in the toss play for his second score of the game. Ohio State tried to respond but the defense made the stop. The ball changed hands when Ohio State failed to convert on a fourth down play. The run game would chew out the remaining clock and the Nittany Lions walked away with a hard fought victory. The win should help Penn State creep back into the top 5.

The Wolverines had some trouble early on against the Gophers but rallied in the second half behind the run game and strong defense to win the game 27 - 41. Devin Gardner put together another strong performance with 256 passing yards, 31 rushing and 3 total TDs while backfield mate Fitz Toussaint put together a 96 yard on 13 carry performance capped with a 69 yard run. Junior wideout Jerald Robinson caught Gardner's sole TD making Minnesota pay for blitzing on a 3 and 6 in the second quarter. Richard Ash anchored the defense with two TFL and a sack. OLB Marvin Robinson had a 14 yard scoop and score to help break the game open after Jerald's long scoring catch. Next week Michigan will take on Penn State in Happy Valley.

BYU kept the game close through the first 3 quarters but Alabama was able to pull things out in the 4th quarter. After only leading 17-3 at the end of the 3rd quarter the Crimson Tide put up 21 4th quarter points to win 38-17. BYU played tough on defense throughout the game. It seemed like they knew each play that I was about to run. In the end, Alabama's passing game was too much. A.J. McCarron went 19-28 for 263 yards with 3 TDs and 1 interception. Willie Booker caught 6 passes for 86 yards and 3 TDs. BYU held the ground game in check. Nicholas Mitchell carried the ball only 11 times for 53 yards with 1 score. Alabama will next visit Ole Miss for another SEC battle.

"LSU win thriller in Death Valley; stay unbeaten in SEC"

LSU pulled off another close win over Florida with a late touchdown giving them the 34-27 victory. After an exchange of punts, Florida struck first with a Harrell pass to Christian to put Florida up 7-0. LSU drove the field and added a FG, but then capitalized on two key Gator mistakes. Harrell through an interception to Michael Johnson who returned it 33 yards for a touchdown. On the next kickoff, Florida fumbled the ball, and D.J. Ivey picked up the fumbled and returned it for a 22 yard touchdown to give LSU a 17-7 lead.

Florida then struck back on a 43 yard Leslie run and a 11 yard Harrell pass to Coxson. LSU added a FG to make it 21-20 Florida before the half. The 3rd quarter featured more a defensive battled with the only score coming from Matt McDaniel to Josh Joseph on a 20 yard pass. Harrell then answered with 8 yard strike to Coxson. Florida then missed the extra point. After a series of punts Mike Ford punched in an 8 yard run to give LSU the lead 34-27 and they held on to go 3-0 in the SEC. Matt McDaniel went 21-38 for 300 yards with a TD and INT. Mike Ford had 51 yards rushing on 16 attempts and a TD. James Wright was the leading receiver ith 11 receptions for 145 yards.

The Bulldogs got off to a slow start in Knoxville, trailing 20-14 at the half. But, a 14 play 5:30 minute drive to start the second half gave Georgia momentum. Goal line situation freshman running back Nick Cole scored 5 touchdowns on the day and freshman FS Flanagan had 11 tackles and forced a fumble. Georgia keeps its hopes for a 3rd straight SEC East title intact.

    Miami 14
    FSU 27

Miami came into Tallahassee minus their star HB Storm Johnson. He was missed as Lamar Miller was only able to average 3.0 ypg on 12 attempts. FSU was able to get out to an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter, thanks in part to a Young INT. Young only threw one pick on the day, but their were several others that were dropped by the Seminole secondary. Florida State was not explosive with the ground game, but it was efficient enough to keep the pressure off of Scott Jones. Jones had a great game today. He kept our offense rolling by completing 14 of his 17 pass attempts. 2 of them for TD's. Freshman HB Kevin Lester continues to impress on the ground. He has began to steal more and more carries away from Marks. With the injury to WR Dent, I am considering moving Marks to the slot and let Lester carry the load in the backfield.

    GG Masler.

    Key Stats:
    QB Scott Jones 14/17 222 yards 2TD 0INT
HB Brennan Marks 74 total yards
HB Kevin Lester 33 rushing yards 1TD
WR Josh Gehres 2 receptions 74 yards 1TD
WR Victor Simpson 3 receptions 29 yards 1TD
    CB Greg Demps 7 tackles 1INT 3DEFL
    LB Christian Jones 4 tackles 2TFL 1DEFL

GG. Starting to feel the lack of talent and the youth of my team. Hopefully I can tough this season out and see some good progression. My defense did not show up, much like they have all year vs users.

Definitely wouldn't have been able to make it at 10am this morning, I wont be back in EL until this evening. I brought my box to my parents place to play, but they rearranged everything and I no longer have a TV near an ethernet outlet so I cant get on live.
