    Pittsburgh 0
South Bend, IN -- Notre Dame's defense continues to roll shutting out Pittsburgh yesterday in South Bend. Irish QB Reggie Williams had a good outing going 15 for 24 for 243 yards 1 TD and 1 int. The RB duo of George Atkinson and Frank Pierre combined for 171 yards on 29 carries and 3 touchdowns on the day. Sophomore WR Cliff Williams had a great day for the Irish hauling in 5 balls for 83 yards and a score.
The Irish defense held Pittsburgh to 2 first downs and 190 yards of total offense. Compare that to Notre Dame's 18 first downs and 446 yards of total offense. The Irish held the ball for 20:01 for the day compared to the Panthers 7:59.
The Irish currently sit at 8-1 for the season 9th place in the coaches poll, 8th in the Media Poll and 8th in the BCS rankings. Next week the Irish resume conference play and take on the Wisconsin Badgers.

Oregon keeps rolling in the PAC 12. I still hate Bennett. He makes some of the crappiest throws around. He went 16 for 31 for 236 yards with 4 TDs. James caught 2 of them. Blackmon and Sumler caught the other 2. Thomas and Carson were the leading rushers. Thomas had 126 yards and 2 TDs while Carson had 111 yards and 1 TD.

Michigan hosted Iowa this week in the annual matchup, which usually yields the division winner. Ann Arbor was snow covered as the 100,000 plus crowd filled the stadium hoping to see Michigan return to Indy later this year. Michigan jumped ahead early with a pick 6 by CB D. Hollowell seen here:

Michigan would play strong defense with the lead and opened it up more with a TD pass by Freshman QB Jones. This is usually where UofM falls apart, but today they finally played a complete game. They limited turnovers on offense, and the defense was huge in the secondary making plays on the ball all game long. HB Holt would also add a huge special team score that would shift momentum for good in favor of the Wolverines. Michigan now controls the division with the next two games at home before heading to Ohio this year to take on the Nuts.

Florida did what they were supposed to in this one, dominate an opponent with a less talented roster. Florida scored touchdowns on offense and special teams in this one, pulling their starters with 2 minutes left in the third quarter. Florida had 438 total yards in this game with 203 yards coming on the ground. QB Driskel looked much better this game missing only one pass in 17 attempts for 235 yards and 4 TD's. TE AC Leonard continued his great play by catching 6 balls for 118 yards. The first and second defense grabbed 4 interception, 1 fumble and 2 sacks on the day.

The biggest surprise of the day was Red Shirt Sophmore RB Wendell Paul, who carried the ball 10 times for 141 yards and 3 TD's despite only seeing garbage time.
