    #17 Michigan 20
    #12 Florida 17

Michigan headed to the Swamp this week for a huge road game test for freshman QB Jones, who sucked. He threw 2 costly INTs and no TDs. Michigan however was able to stay in the game thanks to a strong day by HB Rawls and a solid defensive performance. The team overall played undisciplined, giving up huge special team plays, turning the ball over in the redzone, and missing FGs. The game was back and forth all day and Michigan had the ball last driving deep into Gator territory. They were then able to kick a 20 YD FG as time expired winning the game. GG Kaen. Michigan heads home next week to host Notre Dame in a huge rivalry matchup.

    Notre Dame 35
    Penn State 7
State College, PA -- Notre Dame started this game out very shaky allowing the Nittnay Lions to jump out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, however the Irish defense was able to buckle down and shut Penn State out the rest of the game. Notre Dame's two headed monster in the backfield continued to roll with George Atkinson gaining 54 yards on 23 carries and the explosive Frank Pierre gaining 51 yards on just 6 carries.

Notre Dame's defense was the big reason why the Irish dominated the game. The Irish defense were able to get to QB Paul Jones six times on the day and forced him to make 4 interceptions one of which was ran back for a Notre Dame touchdown.
Next week the Irish travel to the Big House to face their bitter rivals the Michigan Wolverines in a game that's huge for both teams.

    Play of the Game:
HB Frank Pierre explodes for a 44 yard touchdown run.

    Georgia 45
    USC 14

Georgia had a very convincing victory against a young USC but talented USC squad. The game was won in the trenches. UGA was able to dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. On the offensive side this led to some big plays by the running game. Senior HB Ken Malcome had a big day with 136 yards and a pair of scores. He started off fast, scoring a 49-yard TD on Georgia's first offensive drive. His other touchdown came from 14 yards out. The passing game also benefited from the strong offensive line play. Huntson Mason played a great game this week. He connected on 3 long touchdowns in this game. he first was a third down completion to Michael Bennett over the middle. Bennett used his speed to turn the long gain into a touchdown. The other scores came in the second quarter. Mason hooked up with WR1 Sanford Seay on a sideline streak route. The result was a 77-yard touchdown. The third and final TD went to WR2 Justin Scott Wesley. It was a similar route as the second TD and Wesley made the grab over the USC defender. The 56-yard TD put Georgia up 35-7 but USC scored right before half to make it 35-14. Mason's only mistake was a pick inside the red zone.

As for the defensive, the front seven sacked the QB three times in this game. The first sack knocked out USC's starting QB Jesse Scroggins for the game. Josh Wilson played in relief of Scroggins, and he struggled through this game. He did manage to make some big plays, however he made some costly mistakes. The biggest mistake was a lost fumble. He scrambled but the ball was stripped by the UGA defense. DT Michael Thornton recovered the fumble and rumbled for a TD. This TD gave Georgia a 45-14 lead, and ended any hopes of USC mounting a comeback. Wilson also threw an interception in this game.

Off. Player of the Game - Malcome 17 carries 136 yards 2 TD

Def. Player of the Game - Mike Thornton 3 tackles 1 sack 1 fumble recovery 1 defensive TD

The game was closer than the score indicated. Both QBs struggled all game. UW QB Montana struggled a bit more, going 13 of 34 and throwing 4 INT. The Buckeye secondary played fast most of the day. On offense, the Buckeyes were able to muster a few big gains and held on for the victory. I was probably outplayed and outcoached in this game, but the talent gap between the teams was too wide. GG BigKing.

You too. I've got to learn to stop being so stubborn and quit trying to throw it over that Dbacks head towards the sideline.
