The Huskies took care of business today on there home field defeating the 23rd ranked Stanford Cardinals. The story of the day was the Husky defense that set a team record with a total of 10 sacks by 7 different players while forcing 3 interceptions. Offensively Nick Montana played well enough to win by not committing any turnovers and letting Deontae Cooper carry the offense with 186 yards and two scores.

Gotta love signing 4 #1 Players in the same week :p

If KillerNuts didn't get that FS, it would be 5. All 5 of my signings this season were ranked #1 at their positions.

After a sloppy first half for the Tide, things started getting out of hand. The Rebels secondary couldn't stop the long ball, with two of the 2nd quarter TD's coming from bombs downfield. Next up is Tennessee, and Alabama looks to continue forward with the momentum of back-to-back huge wins.

Even with starting HB Hilliard out, the Tigers showed that they are still able to put up points. True freshman Smith ran for nearly 180 yards on just 14 carries and had close to 300 all purpose yards. Randall had another mediocre performance at QB, throwing for 143 yards on 16 attempts. On the defensive side of the ball, Jenkins had a pick 6, but struggled at times in coverage the rest of the game. The defense gave up a few big plays, but they were able to make up for it by keeping South Carolina from capitalizing more than twice.

Bennett is the sh!tt!est Impact player I have every seen. He completed only 50% of his passes, threw 3 interceptions and was sacked 2 times on the day. I cannot wait until this season is over so I can start a new QB. Rant over.

The Ducks running game was dominant. The three-headed monster of Deanthony Thomas, Tra Carson, and Marques Motley ran for 321 yards and 5 TDs. Motley was added to that rotation after Seastrunk went out last week to an injury that should last for the rest of the season.

The defense was unbelievable again except for a few plays. They recorded 12 sacks, 1 interception, 2 FRs, 1 safety, and 1 TD. Rickey Heimuli led the way with 4.5 sacks. Bryce Glover added 4 sacks.

Oregon has a bye next week before hosting Washington State.

    #8 Michigan 35
    Michigan State 13

Michigan headed to Lansing this weekend for the annual rivalry game verse little brother MSU. The game was close the first half thanks to sloppy play by both teams. QB Jones had a pretty bad day throwing 2 INTs and 0 TDs. The defense continued to get big stops and the offense finally busted the game open with this huge run from HB Rawls:

Rawls led the team with 172 YDS rushing and 3 TDs. He now has surpassed the 1,000 YD mark on the season. HB Holt would add 62 and a TD in mop up time. Michigan continues the road trip next week heading to Minnesota.

    #9 Notre Dame 49
    #22 University of Illinois 10
Champaign, IL -- Notre Dame really poured it on the Illini today in Champaign-Urbana whipping them 49-10 in front of a sold out crowd. The Irish needed to rebound after a disappointing and frankly embarrassing performance when it mattered most against the Buckeyes. Irish QB Reggie Williams had his best outing since coming to South Bend going 9 for 15 for 226 yards 3 TDs and 1 int. The Irish followed it up with a balanced rush attack with George Atkinson running for 106 yards and a TD on 17 attempts. HB Frank Pierre also was involved going for 50 yards on 6 carries and two touchdowns.
The Fighting Irish's defense played well holding the Illini to 173 total yards and forcing an interception.

    Georgia 59
    Vanderbilt 10

This was one of my best offensive games. My team didn't put up huge numbers or a lot of big plays, but we were very efficient. Georgia scored points every time the offense took the field, not counting the last drive when we ran out the clock. The offense converted 9 of 10 3rd down conversions, with the one failure resulting in a field goal. Star HB Malcome paved the way for the offense with 4 rushing touchdowns and a receiving TD. Mason was efficient with his passing, completing 11 of 18 attempts for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns. The defense gave up some big plays early but shut down Vanderbilt for the last 3 quarters, The big difference was the pass rush. Vanderbilt's QB was sacked 6 times, including 2.5 by star defensive end Morant. He leads the country at this time with 14.5 sacks in just 8 games.

    #10 Iowa 38
    Northwestern 0

The Hawkeyes shut out the Wildcats in their own stadium by shutting down Northwestern on third down (0-7). Iowa pounded out the win with HB Bo Keller rushing for 130 yards and 2 TDs, while HB Damon Bullock ran for 97 yards and a TD. The Iowa defense also put up an 86 yard pick 6 when CB Nick Medley got a good jam then took the jump ball away from the offense and raced in for the score. Iowa went 6-8 on third down in contrast to Northwestern while putting up 401 yards of total offense to the Wildcats 117.

Florida's defense kept them in this game. The first half ended 7-10 with Florida looking like they were going to be in trouble again. Thanks to a surge by QB Jeff Driskel(21-40, 422Yds, 2TD, 2INT) and TE AC Leonard(13 Rec, 288 Yds), Florida really poured it on through the air in the second half. Florida's rushing game was completely ineffective and is becoming a real concern this year.
