    Oklahoma - 9
    Oregon - 65
The Ducks finish the season on a positive note. Oregon used a balanced offensive attack and a dominating defense to stop Oklahoma.
Redshirt freshman Isaac Brown started the game and was the feature back throughout. Oregon's two 1000 yard backs were given the day off to see if Brown could handle a more involved role in the offense next season. He did not disappoint. He had 318 total yards in the game.

Isaiah Jones had a good game at QB but still needs to improve his accuracy. He completed 18 of 29 passes for 327 yards with 4 TDs and 1 interception. Steve Bates led the receivers with 8 catches for 108 yards and 1 TD.
Defensively the Ducks were able to shutdown the Sooners high-powered offense. Oklahoma burned a blitz with a screen pass for the 1st score of the game but struggled after that. Oregon sacked the QB 5 times and forced 3 interceptions. They also limited Oklahoma to just 1 3rd down conversion in 14 attempts.
This was the last game for two of Oregon's best defensive players of all-time. Bryce Glover finished the day with 7 tackles (3 TFLs) and 2 sacks. Phil Cunningham registered 2 tackles.
Glover has started at LE since he arrived on campus in 2012. His career stats look like this:
    173 total tackles 90 TFLs 55.5 sacks 4 deflections 10 FF 2 FR
    [IMG]
Cunningham has also started since he came to Eugene at MLB in 2012. Here are his stats:
    224 total tackles 35 TFLs 6 sacks 8 interceptions 22 deflections 4 FF 4 FR 3 TDs
Oregon looks to rebound from a down year. They should have another top 10 recruiting class coming in and will return a strong core on both sides of the ball.

    Fiesta Bowl

    Georgia 31
    Boise State 30 (OT)

The Georgia offense was rolling the past few weeks, but that was not the case in the Fiesta Bowl. Starting QB Blalock tried to play this week but he wasn't cleared by team doctors. This left the starting QB role to Adams, but Adams struggled in this game. He completed just 11 of 31 attempts and threw 2 picks. His only score was a lucky TD pass to Schroeder in the second quarter. Despite the offensive struggles, Georgia had a 20-7 lead in the third quarter. The Broncos were able to fight back in the game and eventually the score was evened at 20. Georgia regained the lead with a 4th quarter field goal, leaving Boise State less than 2 minutes. The defense missed some takeaway opportunities and Boise kicker Lewis made a 50-yard field goal with 30 seconds remaining in the game. In overtime Boise State got the ball first and scored a TD. Georgia was able to bulldoze over Boise State's tired defense. Cunningham needed just 3 carries to score a touchdown. The Bulldogs' coach elected to play for the win and Cunningham was able to covert the two-point conversion. The victory should mean another top 5 finish for the Bulldogs. Anything less than a National Title next season will be a disappointment.

Offense Player of the Game - Cunningham 19 carries 78 yards 1 TD; 3 receptions 36 yards

Defense Player of the Game - R. Wilson 4 tackles 2 sacks 1 fumble forced

    LSU - 62
    AF - 10

Well, this joke of a National Championship Game ended up being a big blow out. It was obvious even before the game that the Falcons really didn't belong on the same field as the Tigers despite their undefeated record. This was confirmed on the first play of the game when LSU running back Steve Smith ran the ball 77 yards for a TD. The beating would continue all game, with Air Force scoring a field goal after a fumbled interception gave them good field position and an 83 yard run in the third quarter. Smith ran for 222 yards on just 11 carries and was pulled at halftime. Randall threw for 4 TDs, giving him a share of the LSU single season passing TDs record. The defense had 8 sacks on the day, with both Fulton and Fogle getting to the QB twice. Fulton also forced two fumbles, neither of which were recovered by the defense.
    -

    Looking forward to next season...

    Seniors I am losing:
QB Randall - 2 year starter at QB
K Macklin - 3 time Groza winner, one of the best kickers of all time?
LT Mike Collins - 3 year starter
MLB Thompson - 3 year starter, probably the hardest hitter on my team
CB Vinson - 3 year start, lockdown corner
LOLB Smith - 4 year starter, ends his career with over 200 tackles and just under 20 sacks
CB Jenkins - 2 year starter, also a very good corner
DT Rasco - 2 year starter, had 16 sacks last season
WR Beckham - 2 year starter, over 1000 career passing yards

Couple of other guys, but they're not starters... so I will have a lot of new pieces next year... hopefully I don't have anyone leave early, but meh... I always have like 5+ people who want to go pro... It's like they don't understand that LSU isn't a community college and our boosters are ruthless. Get your education or you might get knee capped...

Iowa Wins Big in the Sugar Bowl
    #7 Virginia Tech 7
    #4 Iowa 49
Iowa ran away with this game late in the second quarter on the strong play of QB Adam Reese. The Hokies would get on the board first after their defense forced a sack/fumble on an Iowa third down in the first quarter. That gave Virginia Tech the ball on the Iowa 33 yardline and they made the most of it, scoring on a 3 yard TD pass when they got the match up they were looking for with an Iowa LB in man coverage. The Hawkeyes would answer right back though with a nice drive that lead to a 30 yard playaction TD pass up the middle seam to Biletnikoff and 1st Team All-American WR E.J. Turner, with the score tied at 7-7 the game moved into the second quarter.
It was a back and forth punt fest most of the second quarter, with Iowa finally getting a drive going late and broke the stalemate when Reese hit 1st Team All-Big 10 TE Ray Hamilton on a 38 yard TD pass to go up 14-7 with 2:15 left in the half. The VT drive ended in a punt and they caught Iowa napping and had their defense on the field, the punt bounced all the way down to the 2 yardline, and with only just over 1:30 Iowa had only 1 timeout left. Reese engineered a great no huddle drive that culminated in a 57 yard bomb to WR Corey Morton for the TD and a 21-7 halftime lead.
Iowa's defense would step up their pressure of the VT quarterback in the second half and the Hokies never got anything going even though their HB, J. Cox, rushed for 139 yards. They just couldn't capitalize on it and got put into 3rd and 4th and longs on big Iowa sacks. The Iowa offense though put up 4 more TDs in the second half. TD runs of 1 and 24 yards by HB Mickail McCall and Heisman Trophy winner Damon Bullock in the third quarter, with Reese and QB Jake Rudock throwing TD passes of 9 and 51 yards respectively in the fourth quarter.
Even though the Hawkeyes got shafted in a Big 10 Title appearance, they are grateful for the BCS bid and even more excited about the win. It was a good way to go out for seniors Turner, Bullock, Hamilton, return man Torrey Campbell, DEs Anthony White and Kevin Harmon, SS Danny Weddle, and QB Jake Ruddock.

Alabama caps a pretty good season with a win over Ohio State in the Capital One Bowl.

This win gave us our 10th on the season, and I'm pretty happy with how the season went overall...only losing to #2 Michigan, #5 Utah, and #1 LSU.

This win was not pretty. The offense was all over the place with no rythm, but the defense was able to set us up with good field position. The Tide started out down 10-0, and took back the momentum with a 64 yard interception return for a TD by Senior CB Scott King. Other Alabama players who recorded interceptions include Senior DE DJ Pettway, Sophomore FS Jonathan Smith, Junior CB Sammie Sullivan, and Freshman DE Timi Mitchell.

The interceptions are what won us this game, and without them we wouldve probably had a goose egg. gg Ohio State.

Tough to handle losing a game where you outgain your opponent 320 to 85. GG.

The computer miracle interceptions in multiple user games ruined what would have been an excellent season for the Buckeyes.

Yeah one was right before the half that set me up for a TD when he couldve easily went up 2 scores. It was kinda BS because he was supposed to be rushing, but just went straight to the halfback as he went out for the screen. I guess you could call it great awareness, and he's a freshman.

The other one was a zone blitz with the DE in a hook zone, and abolishthefed just happened to force it into the middle.

    USC 0

    -Pasadena, California

Michigan came into the Rose Bowl this season with high hopes and delivered. They shutout a powerful USC offense with pressure on the QB and forcing INTs. On offense we gave a heavy dose of Rawls all game who rushed for 107 YDS and 2 TDs surpassing to 2000 yard mark on the season. RE G Thomas had 2 sacks on defense. Michigan will now gain its very important 6th star along with being Rose Bowl Champions!! GG Kaen.

Coach RyanC was given a glimse of the future after the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, opting to bench his offensive seniors for a chance to get the younger players in the game and reps within the offense. It turned out well, with quarterback Richie Vinson playing very well in his first in-game action. The biggest player in the game however was true freshman tight end Steve James, who had a monster day.

    Stats

    Passing
    R. Vinson - 20/34, 281 yds, 3 TD/0 INT, rush TD

    Rushing
    L. Peterson - 19 att, 102 yds

    Receiving
    S. James - 9 rec, 112 yds, TD
    R. Haynes - 3 rec, 53 yds
    M. Ferguson - 3 rec, 20 yds, 2 TD
    P. Brady - 2 rec, 63 yds

Notre Dame Hangs on to Beat Tennessee 21-20

Reggie Williams touchdown pass to Cliff Williams for a 9 yard touchdown
Tampa, FL -- The Irish cap off a disappointing season on a positive note with a strong performance against the Tennessee Volunteers in a game that would go down to the wire. The Irish were able to grind out a win thanks to a solid rushing attack, balanced passing, and defensive stops when it mattered most.
The Irish were able to stop the Volunteers in their first offensive possession and march the ball down the field, however they had to settle for the field goal as Tennessee was able to stiffen in the red zone. The Irish were able to continue to shut out the Volunteers up till the 2:00 mark in the second quarter when WR Vincent Dallas took a Nick Mayfield slant 72 yards for a touchdown to put them up 7-6. The Irish were able to strike in the dying moments of the first half by driving down the field and capping it with a 9 yard touchdown catch by Cliff Williams, however an unsuccessful two point conversion to make the score 12-7 at half.
The Irish were not able to score in the third quarter due to Tennessee's defense tightening up in the second half. However, the Volunteers were able to strike against the Irish again this time Vincent Dallas scoring again on a 9 yard TD to make the score 14-12 going into the fourth quarter.

The Irish took their first drive of the 4th down the field and had to settle for another field goal, making the score 15-14. Tennessee wouldn't let off scoring off a 48 yard explosive run by HB Tom Smith to make the score 21-15 Tennessee with 3:44 left in the game.

The Irish, not to be outdone methodically drove the ball down the field and TE Brett Wiggins capped off the drive catching a 4 yard TD pass from Reggie Williams with 11 seconds to go in the game to make the score 22-21. The Irish held and took home the victory.

The Irish go in next season with a top recruiting class in the country and look to compete for a Big 10 title and a national championship.

    Great game gwill

    Player of the Game
    QB Reggie Williams
