Kind of curious as well, since it's not showing up on the wire.

Virginia Tech Beats Clemson Convincingly to Take ACC Championship

With this win, the Virginia Tech Hokies have claimed their third ACC Championship in a row and capping off of a perfect season.

Virginia Tech won the toss and elected to kick the ball off. It looked as though the game might go the same way that the previous game between the to teams went - Virginia Tech would not be able to stop the run. However, after a few decent plays, Virginia Tech forced some passes by Clemson and eventually Tristan Terry got an interception. Virginia Tech took care of business and got into the end zone, but gave up 6 on the next drive after a very long pass play. The rest of the game was all Virginia Tech. They went on a tear, scoring 28 more points before half time giving them a 35-7 lead.

The Hokies began killing time, with a mix of runs and a few passes, draining 4:30 off of the clock before a field goal. Clemson looked like they had given up, letting the clock run down to single digits and running the ball. However, on a 4th and 19, they went for it and looked as though they might try and get back into the game. This led to a TD. Clemson opted to kick it deep and never got the ball back.

This is the second time this season that Marquis Weber has played up to his potential, the other being in week 1 against Oregon. When he plays like this, there is absolutely nobody in the country who can stop Virginia Tech. They may need a similar performance if they are able to jump Penn State to play the winner of the SEC Championship game in the title game should they get there.

There will certainly be many calls for the BCS to be abolished when the final bowl standings are released as there will be 3 undefeated teams, all deserving of the title, and 1 will get left out in the cold. Only time will tell if a playoff will eventually take over as the method to determine a champion.

    Players of the Game
    Weber - 19/19, 303.4 rating, 303 yds, 4 TD,
    Terry - 3 Tackles, 2 INT
    Muhammad - 5 Rec, 63 yds

Quick question, does your secondary have high zone and or man ratings? Because your secondary was reacting to everything..my secondary was just freaking standing there and everything and not even reacting.

Better than your guys in coverage, but not terribly far off. It certainly helped that I had the guy you were throwing to highlighted like 75% of the time. It didn't help much on the plays where you had Muhammad as the 3rd guy in, but it helped the other times.

Alabama is still the SEC Champion. The Crimson Tide have yet to let anyone take that crown since this dynasty began. Turnovers usually dictate this game. This year there were no turnovers. Alabama used a huge dose of the run to take the game. Starting QB Ryan Horn was knocked out of the game after only attempting 2 passes. The Crimson Tide would lean on freshman HB Joe McKinley and he answered. He totaled 181 rushing yards on 12 carries including a 96 yards TD scamper. Joey Taylor would also help the ground attack by scoring 3 TDs. John Bowling filled in nicely for the injured Horn. He completed 12 of 17 pass attempts for 179 yards. He did not have a TD on an interception on the day. Lance Whitaker led the receiver with 5 catches for 80 yards.

Alabama will next play in the BCS National Championship game against Penn State.
