My xbox froze up 37-7 in the 3rd QTR -_-
Cavaliers Shoot Down the Falcons of BGSU
The Cavs opened up the game by driving the ball down the field behind strong runs by "Anvil" Alvin Nelson. Carl Fields started this season the way last season ended hitting WR David Jones on a slant route the saw Jones plant hard and get it back outside for a 47 yard TD jaunt. Bowling Green answered back most ricky-tick as HB Coy Brown did his best pinball imitation on a 4th and 1 as he scampered 46 yards to paydirt. The ensuing possession saw Virginia fail on a 4th and short that lead to a BGSU FG of 50 yards. The Cavs took the ball with a purpose as time was running out in the 1st Qtr as QB Carl Fields went up top again this time to WR Adrian Gamble on a deep post for 44 yards and 6 points. The 2nd Qtr was a masterpiece of epic proportion as the Cavalier defense seemed a bit perturbed at the cockiness of the over-matched Falcon team. CB Mike Richard broke on a seam route that looked like a thing of beauty as he took the interception 73 yards for the score. The following Falcon possession lead to more points for the Cavalier defense as Michael Moore scooped up a QB James Knapke fumble off a sack and rumbled 20 yards to a celebratory belly-flop into the end-zone. Bowling Green broke out all the tricks as they lined up for a 29 yard field goal and snookered out a fake that resulted in a 15 yard TD catch for TE Ryan Koch. The 3rd Qtr saw both team's defenses step up their efforts as both teams moved the ball but were unable to put points on the board. Sr FS Tez Dickens stepped up with his second pick of the day at the end of the quarter to set up the Cav offense for what would transpire next. The deep ball of the day saw TE Drew Davis shoot through the Falcon linebackers as the safety had vacated to the WR side. 70 yards later Davis was forced out at the 1 yard line. Two plays later "Anvil" Nelson scooted in from 6 yards out for a score. The pesky Falcon team wouldn't quit as the took their next possession and sashayed down the field for 6 points and a 2 point conversion. Kicker Ira Hawkins connected on a 40 yard FG after missing his first attempt of 52 earlier in the game. The Cavaliers were able to regain possession of the ball and keep the clock moving with the run game. Gameballs: Tez Dickens 178 total yards 2 INTs and return yards Carl Fields 16/23 for 336 yards 2 TDs and 1 pick The entire defensive line with 7 sacks 20+ pressures and the grass stains on Falcon QB Knapke's jersey.

The Sun Devils picked up an ugly 10 point victory at home. The ASU defense played well, only allowing 214 yards of total offense. DJ Foster led the ASU offense, with 110 total yards and a TD.
PSU kicked off the 2016 season playing host to Eastern Michigan. Coming off a very disappointing 2015 year the Nittany Lions brought in Coach Chase to take over program. And if the opening performance is what's to come they made the right choice. The Nittany Lions were dominating on both sides of the ball and pushed around EMU. The Offense stumbled out of the gate but got things going on its second series when QB Nick White hit WR Jim Thompson for a 78yrd TD pass. White had a very nice day (outside of a pick six EMU's only score) throwing for over 254yrds and hitting over 11 different receivers. The ground game was also very sound with Nick Manning going for 120yrds. The D would not be out done as it held EMU to a total of 120yrds of offense and 16 rushing yards. After the game Coach Chase spoke with the media. “We are at the beginning of a changing culture at Happy Valley and today was the start of building a championship program. It's going to be a tough road but myself and the coaches are committed to winning. So put the college football word on noticed we are here to win. And tell all the recruits we gonna be knocking on your door. WE ARE PENN STATE!!!"

The Terps started the season out on the west coast playing the Cougs in week 1 and came out with the W. Maryland pretty much dominated on the field racking up 424 yards of offense and only allowing 131 on defense. QB Montana had a very solid game minus the 2 INTs he threw, but the power of the Terps offense was in the running game where we had nearly 2 100 yard rushers on the day. We face a much tougher challenge next week hosting #6 Oklahoma St at home.
QB Montana 219 Rating, 12/17 232 YDS, 3 TDs, 2 INTs
HB Franklin 14 Carries, 116 YDS, TD
WR Diggs 4 Rec, 53 YDS, 2 TDs
DE Gordon 3 Tackles, 2 Sacks

Sparty wanted revenge for the Championship loss last year and jumped out to a big 31-3 lead at half. HB Blankenship was injured after the 1st drive with a concussion but backup Mitchell stepped in fine with 86 yards. Newberry takes over for graduated QB Cook and has big shoes to fill. However, he did more than expected today as he threw for 322 yards and 4 TDs while rushing for 50 yards. His mobility is something Michigan State isnt used to since Cook couldnt scramble. Burbridge had 2 TDs and 155 yards receiving and the defense was pressuring the QB all day. Sparty dominated, forcing turnovers, stopping the run, and sacking the QB.
Iowa overcomes a rash of injuries to over take Iowa state in a hard fought battle between the rival schools. Iowa lost star running back Larson early in the 3rd after a great first half performance. He is now out for three weeks. Should be interesting vs penn state next week.
vs. 14 - 7
Cal opened the 2016 season with B1G doormat Minnesota. New Cal starting QB Kline who takes the reigns over from Boehm will look to repeat as Pac-12 Champions this year. The Golden Bear replace a ton of talent on offense and had to make use of this warm-up game in preparation of 3 back-to-back-to-back USER games (thanks be to HovaTheGodMC).
Kline struggled in his debut only completing 50% of his passes while the Minnesota defense came to play. Cal turned the ball over twice in the redzone and failed to score a touchdown on two other drives in to the redzone which resulted in field goals. Minnesota was able to take the opening drive for sa touchdown but was held in check for the rest of the game.
This sort of start was expected from the Cal offense as a lot of new talent is tarting this year. The defense though, should be feared by all. With three USER games upcoming the defense will find out how good they are on this young season.

Colorado had a shaky start on defense in their first game of the season, allowing 24 first half points to their rival CSU, including a 50 yard hail mary at the end of the first half against prevent defense . The defense rebounded a bit in the second half though, not allowing any points, and putting some pressure on the QB finally. Offensively the Buffaloes were a bit better, able to churn out some yards fairly consistently on the ground. In the air the talent of the Colorado receivers was much better than that of the CSU defensive backs and that showed when Jackson was allowed to look down field.
Both sides of the ball will need to get things fixed because we have back to back user games on the schedule coming up.
