Hail to the Victors. Michigan hosted #1 LSU this week in what should have been last years title game. Michigan won his game on defense. We caused 5 Interceptions on the day. LSU was able to get nothing done early because of all the INTs. On offense we had a solid passing game led by QB Thomas who had a great game throwing 3 TDs aside from the 2 INTs he threw. TE Washington was huge in this game catching 2 TDs on 71 YDs receiving. LSU would pull back in the 2nd half thanks to an opening kickoff fumble that resulted in an LSU TD. They got within 7 late but Michigan was able to drive down the field with accurate passing by Thomas. we got into field goal range and kicked the 51 YD clinching FG by out stud kicker Armstrong. Michigan should now be the unanimous #1 team in the nation and bring some respect to the B1G Ten. We now go on BYE before heading out West to play the SunDevils. GG KillerNuts you made some amazing plays!

    Good win Hova.

#4 Alabama wins 56-9 over #17 Boise State.

Once again Alabama was able to get out to a big lead by halftime. Redshirt Senior QB Todd Price connected with Senior WR Jon Fields for a 91 yard TD on Alabama's first possession. Senior CB John Archer had another hat trick with interceptions, all of them came in the first half, and he was able to return one of them 23 yards for a TD. The defense played great, limiting the big plays, and Boise State was only able manage FG's.

In the second half the defense extended the lead on their own as the offense took care of the ball. Redshirt Junior SS Trey Beck blocked a Boise State FG attempt in the third quarter that was returned 76 yards for a TD by back up MLB Phil Nicholas. The second team offense came in at the beginning of the fourth quarter after a 37 yard TD run by redshirt senior HB Adam Jones. The second team defense came in one series later after a Trey Beck interception that was returned for a 93 yard TD. The second teamers got Boise State off the field, and the offense was able to run out the clock and kneel the ball inside the Boise red zone.

There were a lot of outstanding performances from Alabama players this game...

    Class Position Name Stats
:RS: SR QB Todd Price 12 of 19 for 345 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT
:RS: SR HB Adam Jones 5 carries for 40 yards, 2 TDs; 1 receiving TD
SR WR Jon Fields 5 receptions for 164 yards, TD
SR CB John Archer 3 tackles (1 TFL), 3 INTs, 2 defl, 23 yd TD
:RS:JR SS Trey Beck 5 tackles (1 TFL), 1 INT, 1 BLK, 93 yd TD

LOS ANGELES, CA - This was a slow starter but there was no stopping the Trojans once they got the train rolling. HB DeShawn Minor followed up his 193 yard game with another 124 yards in this one. QB Josh Wilson had a rough day, throwing 3 picks, but did enough to stay out of Minor's way and keep the Trojans offense moving. TE Jarvis Sampson was the leading receiver on the day, grabbing 6 receptions for 120 yards and a touchdown. DE Ronnie Madison and USC's defense blistered the Falcon offense, picking up 6 fumbles including one for a TD.
USC will enter a bye week and use the extra time to prepare for a rematch of last year's Pac-12 Championship against #15 Washington.
    Player Statistics:
QB Josh Wilson: 14/35, 232 Yards, 1 TD, 3 INT
RB DeShawn Minor: 24 Carries, 124 Yards, 1 TD
TE Jarvis Sampson: 6 Receptions, 120 Yards, 1 TD
DE Ronnie Madison: 4 Tackles, 2 TFL, 2 Sacks, 2 FF

I know bravejaf and KillerNuts have both claimed this to be "their" year, but I have to say if I've ever got a shot this is mine too.

I can garuntee someone from the SEC will get in the championship game. It's a long shot for me having to play 99 overall LSU, and if I made it to the CCG I'd play gwill or 99 overall Georgia. Rough crowd lol

    Georgia 17
    Ohio State 10

The Georgia offense struggled in this game but the defense helped the Bulldogs win this game. Jay Porter was the star of the show. He picked off two passes, including a pick six in the first quarter. The second interception stopped the Buckeyes from scoring late in the game. Ohio State would take the lead after a pair of touchdowns from Edmonds to WR #1 Owens. Edmonds, along with #2 WR Felder, gained over 100 yards receiving in this game. The problem for OSU was turnovers. The Buckeyes gave the ball away 4 times, including 3 picks by Edmonds. Aside from the interceptions, the Buckeyes passing game was solid. The Buckeyes passed for nearly 250 yards and completed about 60% of their attempts. The Georgia offense finally got on the board with about 2 minutes left in the first half. Blalock hit WR #1 Jones for a 54 yard TD. The ball floated in the air for a long time before finally being caught. The Bulldogs added a field goal before halftime and took a 17-14 lead into the locker room. After the half, both teams struggled to move the ball and neither team scored a point. OSU came close in the second half but that drive was ended by Porter's second pick. UGA got the ball back with about 5 minutes left and was able to string together some run plays. Up to this point the OSU defense had silenced Georgia's run game but the defense finally broke down in the fourth quarter. Cunningham and Jenkins were able to move the chains and keep the clock moving. The game ended after several Georgia first downs. OSU never got a shot to tie the game or take the lead.

Off. Player of the Game - P. Jones 3 receptions 71 yards 1 TD

Def. Player of the Game - J. Porter 2 tackles 1 sack 2 interceptions 1 TD

    Irish Thump Penn State 27-7
    [IMG]
QB Daniel Archer is intercepted in the closing moments of the first half by Geoff Joseph who takes it 96 yards for a TD
State College, PA -- The Irish continue to roll this time beating Penn State 27-7 on the road to start the season 2-0. Penn State's defense was able to shut out the Irish's offense the first half. Notre Dame wasn't able to get the run or the pass game working early, however the Irish's defense stepped up and kept the game tight. Penn State struck first on a long drive which was capped off by a 2 yard TD pass from QB Daniel Archer to WR Jason Green to put the Nittny Lions up 7-0. The Irish weren't able to do much other than a field goal until the dying moments of the first half JR CB Geoff Joseph made a huge play and jumped a route and took it 96 yards to the house to make the score 10-7 at half. After that moment, it was all Irish.

In the second half Senior QB Reggie Williams was able to find some rhythm hitting TE Brett Wiggins for a TD early in the 3rd quarter to make the score 17-7. The Irish continued to put on the pressure on defense and held Penn State's offense scoreless in the second half. RB Cory Riley was able to find the endzone for the first time this season on a 21 yard touchdown run up the middle to make the score 24-17 going into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth the Irish pounded the ball to milk time off the clock and added another field goal to make the score 27-7 which held to the end. Next week the Irish travel to Lincoln, Nebraska to face another Big 10 opponent in the #14 Nebraska Cornhuskers.
    Player of the Game

    Iowa Downs "The U"
    #3 Iowa 38
    #22 Miami 10
Iowa jumped out to a 14-0 lead with a solid and balanced offense, with a 23 yard HB Kevin Singleton run and a 22 yard TD reception by WR Sylvester Johnson off of a play action fake. Then the Hawkeye defense gave up an 85 yard TD run to Miami and had their lead cut to 14-7. Iowa's next possession ended in failure as QB Adam Reese saw Johnson beat his man off the jam and knew he was going deep, Johnson however added a little fade to the sideline though and that allowed the CB to catch up and make the pick. Miami got a FG after that and was down 14-10 at the half.

A FG by Iowa in the middle of the third quarter extended the lead back to 7 at 17-10, then the Hawkeye offense started rolling, they scored 3 more TDs on the day. The Iowa defense bent but didn't break all second half and didn't allow any more points. Iowa HB Kevin Singleton rushed for 216 yards and 3 TDs, including a 91 yard run in the fourth quarter. FR DE C.J. Garrett had a huge day, recording 6 tackles, 4 sacks, and a forced fumble to lead the defensive side of the ball.
