After two terrible showings against LSU and Tennessee, we were able to get the first win of the season against UL Lafayette. We opened up the game with a scoop and score after a monster hit on the first play from scrimmage.. The offense was able to run the ball was ease most of the game, however the passing game was a little sloppy but i believe it will come along as the season progresses. The defense was stout in the first half but gave up a lot of passing yards which is going to need to be addressed before we get deep into PAC12 play..
Offensive game-ball: Backup running back Cameron Davis only had two carries for 41 yards and a TD but his play on kick returns is why he received the game ball.. 3 return for 198 yards and 2TD's...
Defensive game-ball: Senior CB Nate Duncan : 7 tackles, 1 Interception, 1 Sack, 1 Forced Fumble..
We get a bye week before starting PAC12 play when we travel to Boulder to face Colorado..

    Call wins in quadrupole Overtime
Cal game into this game very cocky we were like "Ohio" huh, this is going to be a easy win, but this was surely not a easy win. We would go into quadruple Ot Cal got so many breaks this game stopping Ohio and we finally got a last one in the 4th OT when we our OLB super jumped to swat a wide open TD pass to give Cal the win next week we have "UL Monroe" who we will not be taking lightly at all Lol

    Northwestern 21

South Bend, IN -- The Irish were able to hold off Northwestern today in South Bend to go 3-0 on the young season. HB Cory Riley led the charge rushing for 162 yards on 25 attempts and 2 touchdowns. Dan Hart added 57 yards on 4 attempts and a touchdown. The Irish so far this season have been setting the tone with teams by dominating the line of scrimmage and pounding the ball. QB Bill Hawk was efficient when his number was called on going 6 for 12 for 103 yards and a touchdown. Irish kicker Edwin Baker was impressive today going 3 for 3 on field goal attempts two of which were over 55 yards and 4/4 on extra points.

Northwestern just wouldn't go away at the end of the game. They kept the pressure on the Irish going touchdown for touchdown at the end of the game. However, the Irish were just too dominate on the ground and were able to grind out the victory late.

Next week the Irish face the Golden Gophers of Minnesota.

The fans in Columbus were treated to a heart pounding ending. Unfortunately, neither offense played well in this game. Georgia would end the game 2-10 on 3rd down and Ohio St would finish 3-12. No points were scored in the first quarter. The only big play was an interception by Georgia's defense on Ohio St's first play from scrimmage. The Buckeyes would not have a 1st down in the quarter. The Buckeyes broke the ice in the second quarter, scoring on a stretch play for a 50 yard TD. Georgia struggled to move the ball early in the second quarter. The Buckeyes would add a FG midway through the quarter for a 10-0 lead that looked insurmountable, the way both offenses were playing. However, Georgia's offense came out on fire on its next possession behind the strength of a hurry up attack. The drive culminated in a long TD pass for a TD with 20 seconds left in the half to cut the Buckeye lead to 10-7. The Buckeyes would get greedy at the end of the half and throw a late INT, which led to a Georgia FG with no time left in the half.

Georgia scored another big TD in the third quarter on another long pass play, to take a 17-10 lead behind 17 unanswered points. The teams traded punts until the fourth quarter, where the Buckeyes kicked a FG to cut the Georgia lead to 17-13 with 4 minutes left. The Buckeye defense would make a big stop and the Buck O had the ball back inside their own 20 with 2 minutes left to go. After some timely passes, the Bucks moved the ball down to the Georgia 2 yard line with 11 seconds left to go, 1st and goal with 1 TO left. TE Anderson caught the ball and turned upfield for the TD and the 20-17 lead. The Buck defense would hold for the win.

Freshmen starting at QB, HB (due to injury) and TE is killing my offense on the road. Hopefully my last two user games are at home. Jackson's stats look better than he played. I'm still shocked he completed 50% of his passes.

    LSU - 13
    Iowa - 10

For some reason, the Tigers weren't able to do much on the ground. Despite their lower ratings, the Iowa defensive line and outside linebackers were shedding blocks very, very well, preventing LSU from being able to move much on the ground. The Tigers did have some success through the air, so maybe they should've just stuck to that. Iowa did better on the ground, but was just dreadful in the passing game, completing 6/19 passes and throwing 2 INTs that set up LSU scores.

This marks the end of a very tough beginning to the season. LSU should be able to skate until they face division opponent Alabama in week 11.

Don't forget to mention the 6 pass defenses by the LSU secondary to go along with those two picks, I didn't look at their ratings but I am assuming they are all good lol, plus 3 straight up drops by my receivers. My passing game has been dreadful for the first 3 weeks of the season. A combination of my fail, (RS) FR QB, poor pass blocking, and not having a standout receiving threat has really hurt. Now I think we get back to back bye weeks to figure something out.

He was 4 for 4 on screens, which helped his completion percentage.

    September 16, 2017 - Bryant-Denny Stadium
    22 Arizona State - 38
    3 Alabama - 42
Arizona State came into Bryant-Denny Stadium a bit mismatched as Alabama was able to get out to a 21-0 first quarter lead. Alabama's option offense was clicking and were making big plays. A 42 yard pass from Weiss to Jones set up a 6 yard rush TD by Gunn on the Crimson Tide's first series. After forcing a punt, a 56 yard run by Powers set up a 1 yard TD run by Sophomore QB Dale Weiss. After forcing another punt, Alabama scored on their their third play with a 51 yard rushing TD by Weiss once more.
Arizona State scored immediately in the second quarter on a 34 yard pass to their TE James. Redshirt Junior All American TE Steve James had a career day catching 10 passes for 158 yards and a TE, converting many third downs and a big 4th and 13 I will get to later. Alabama started to get impatience after giving up the goose egg and put the ball in air way too often, on their next series Weiss would throw his first of four interceptions on the day. The two teams traded possession until Alabama coach made a big mistake by calling a timeout in order to try and score with 1:09 left in the half.
This would lead to another interception and ASU would capitalize on a 17 yard TD pass. Another interception lead to 3 points for ASU, and it was a 21-17 ball game at half. The third quarter was all Arizona State as they opened up the half with a 10 play, 3 and half minute drive for another passing TD. Another interception by Weiss, and another score for Arizona State to close out the third quarter.
Alabama was able to start the fourth quarter in the right direction, converting some big plays and finally ending the drive with Weiss' third rushing TD of the game. However, Arizona State had Bama fans leaving the stadium early connecting with Steve James for 12 yards, then a 34 yard run by Pierce, a 10 yard run by Morales, and finally a 24 yard TD run by Morales.
With under 3 minutes left, Alabama stared at a 38-28 deficit and were ready to accept being outplayed by their opponent. Dale Weiss, who had a terrible game throwing the ball wasn't ready to quit, and burned the defense in just two plays with a 74 yard TD pass to Jones. The onside kick was failed, and Arizona State got the ball at around the 45 yard line with 3 timeouts remaining.
ASU started off with an 8 yard run by Morales and on second down went with a bubble pass that had been hurting the Alabama defense all game. Redshirt Senior FS Jonathan Smith made a hell of play flying up to the man from 12-15 yard deep and lit his world up! Bama gets the ball back with plenty of time to score, they stick to their offense and stay somewhere in the middle of being conservative and aggressive and things ended up going their way. They got into field goal range with an 11 yard rush by Weiss, and used their final timeout. The next play went for another first down, stopping the clock. Weiss NEARLY throws another INT going for the endzone against the cover 2, and then Cohen gets into the endzone with a 14 yard run.
Arizona State started this last drive completing passes of 21 and 18 yards before the Alabama defense came up with a sack. Two incompletions later and ASU was able to convert 4th and 13 to no other than TE Steve James for 17 yards. With 6 seconds left and timeout down by 4, Arizona State rushed to the line but ran out of time, unfortunately, before they were able to get the play off. Alabama survives!

That was a damn fun game, even with the loss. And yeah, James is open 24/7 no matter what route I call, my offense would be nowhere without him

The Huskies came out strong early behind the passing of Jason Huff. Huff went 9/12 for 144 yards and two scores before being knocked out of the game. Washington would take a 17-3 lead into the half. The 3rd quarter was a defensive struggle with both quarterbacks throwing picks. In the 4th quarter Michigan finally got going scoring two touchdowns to tie it up. Overtime was back and forth until Michigan QB MJ Trembley threw is fourth and final pick of the day allowing Washington to sneak away with the thrilling win in overtime.
