The offense got a boost this week with the return of halfback Herron. The speedy back carved up the Vandy defense for 103 yards on just 13 carries. Backup HB Lewis managed 78 yards and a score, but his best play was a reception near the end of the game. Lewis caught a screen pass from QB #3 Brown and outran the entire defense of the Commodores. Even with the return of Herron, the offense still went through QB Jackson. He completed 10 of 17 attempts, but at least 4 passes were dropped by his receivers. He threw 4 more TD passes in this game, including 3 in the first quarter. Senior WR Paul Jones caught 2 of the 4 TD passes. Mitchell and Schroeder caught the other TD passes from Jackson. On defense the big play was a pick six by CB Downing. It was an easy TD as the pick was less than 20 yards from the end zone. Antonio Phillips also had a big game, with 3 sacks.

The second half was all Sun Devils, outscoring the Trojans 28-7 in the last two quarters. QB Richie Vinson continues to rack up yardage despite his accuracy problems and TE Steve James was over 100 yards for the sixth time this season.

Iowa pounded out another conference win today on the legs of HB Kevin Singleton, who rushed for 144 and 2 TDs and also missed some time with an elbow sprain. QB Danny Stuckey struggled once again completing 50% of his passes with a TD and 2 INTs but the Iowa defense forced 3 turnovers of their own to put the Hawkeyes on the positive side of the turnover margin. DE C.J. Garrett had 4 TFL, 2 sacks, and 2 FF to lead the way on defense. Iowa lost nickle CB Jeremy Paul for the season with a broken collarbone. He joins starting ROLB Mike Allen who was lost in week one to the same injury for the year and starting FS Robert Ivey who will be out for 5 weeks (3 left) with the same injury. Fucking collarbones.
