ASU fans were treated to a barn burner in Tempe. Both offenses were terrible in the first half. There were only about 6 first downs gained combined for the teams. The Sun Devils were able to get into position for a 48 yard FG, but the kick was missed due to the high winds. It was a 0-0 game with about 30 seconds left in the quarter, when Washington was forced to punt the ball to ASU's returner Harrison. The Husky coverage unit did a great job and ASU started on its own 15. On the first play from scrimmage, HB Jackson took the ball 85 yards, through the UW defense for a huge TD and a 7-0 lead going into halftime.

The third quarter was more of the same, with both defenses dominating. Late in the quarter, UW was able to capitalize on the only turnover by either team during the day. ASU was in good position, following a huge 4th down stop around midfield. But, overzealous play calling led to a huge Washington interception. On the ensuing play, Washington hit a post pattern for 50+ yards and a TD against a 6 man rush. The Sun Devils were able to finish its next drive with a FG, for a 10-7 lead heading towards the 4th quarter. Washington got the ball back and marched down the field on a long drive, eventually scoring with about 2:15 left on the clock. ASU received the ball down 14-10 and needing a TD for the win. ASU was able to convert some key 4th down plays and the drive resulted in an ASU TD with around 15 seconds left.

The computer was smiling on my squad today. There were multiple balls that could have been intercepted by UW, that ended up being dropped.

Raidernation you just can't buy an INT it seems. In all fairness, I dropped around 10 in my game against Oregon this morning. Drops you know the CPU makes against a user hands-down.

Oregon Plays Tough in First Half, Rolls over in Second Half

Going into halftime coach Fmode looked around the locker room and asked if his squad was simply going to let this season go to the shitter. After going 0-3 against USER teams to start the year (after going 3-0 last year) a lot of questions were being thrown around in the media about what the future held for this team. With a much more dynamic offense than year's past there was no reason why this team was losing games as it was. Although all three losses were by one possession some of the QB play has been suspect.

    Not today.

Cal offense collected 397 yards while scoring 38 points in a game that was tied 21-21 at halftime after Cal converted a long toss to Sophomore stand out WR Owens for 76 yards on a 3rd and long situation backed up in their own end. The also Sophomore QB Ware threw 4 TD on the day, all to WR Owens who couldn't be covered by the speedy Oregon defense. He was able to sit in the deep zones and collect passes all afternoon. Cal RB Damion Smith also had a solid game with 122 yards and 1 TD. Half of his yards were racked up late in the game in an attempt to keep the OU offense off the field as much as possible after their first half fireworks.

Cal 3rd string RB Moore again returned a punt for a TD in this game. He does not have specular speed or acc but is often able to find the holes in the defense and is collecting some serious early attention for being a leader for post-season return specialist awards.

Cal is now 4-3 and with 3 straight wins, while averaging 55 points per game in those three wins. With Colorado uncleho the looming game in a few weeks between Cal and a potential Pac-12 title rematch against Arizona State abolishthefed for payback - the stakes are high again in Berkley.

There where other things that could gotten me the win but yes almost every pass on his last drive I touched before his WR's. He made good plays too, one he floated just out the reach of a defender. A few jaw droppers later ... TD. One thing I'll say this year everyone has had to earn the W vs WU shit ain't easy.....

Forgot to post this blowout. Williams was having another good day before going down with that abdominal strain...
