Got bit with the freeze on the highlight load at the beginning of the 2nd half. Was up 24-17 and AZ was playing solid.
(AP) Atlanta - The #6 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets continued their winning ways with a 41-0 victory over the Duke Blue Devils. It was their 2nd shutout on the year and amazingly the defense has still not allowed an offensive TD. It was complete domination on both sides of the ball with the offense rolling up 512 yards (308 passing, 204 rushing) with 22 first downs (12/14 on 3rd down). The defense held the Blue Devils to 145 yards and sacked the QB 6 times.
Offensive MVP - SO WR Brian Ferwerda, 7 catches, 133 yds (TD)
Defensive MVP - SR DE Mike Curtis, 3 sacks
The Nittany Lions rolled into Minneapolis to take on the Golden Gophers for their second BIG road game of the year. Coming off a big win against MSU last week Coach Chase was looking for another strong showing from his team. A strong showing would be an understatement as PSU would dominate the game and pitch a shutout 55-0. The Gophers would cross midfield only once the entire game and only manage 148yrds of offense. Minnesota would not run or pass for over 100yrds on the day as the PSU D would force 8ints as they sat back and played great coverage. Three of the INT's would be returned for TD's so the O had little work to do today. HB Marcus O'Connor did run for 145yrds and 1td on 14att and Ashton Smith had a short day going 3/3 for 55yrds and 2tds.
Michigan State 21
Wisconsin traveled to East Lansing and came out with a hard fought 28-21 Victory over the Spartans in front of SELL OUT CROWD OF OVER 95000 wild and crazy fams as this game was a sellout only 4 hours after tickets were being sold. The Spartans came out on fire racing to a 10-0 lead in the 2nd QTR. The Badgers scored with a minue left in the half to make it a 10-7 defensive game at halftime. The Spartans knocked out the starting Wisconsin QB Tyler Dickson for the game with a concussion. Wisconsin had the ball to start the 2nd half and put together a nice drive as Rian Felder scored from 6 yards out to give the Badgers their first lead of the night at 14-10. That's how the 3rd QTR will end. It was a wild 4th QTR as both teams began to warm up on offense. FR Jerome Rodriguez found a nice hole through the 7 hole and raced 41 yards for a TD to give the visitors a 21-10 lead. Michigan State answered 2 minutes later with a FG to cut the lead to 21-13. Backup QB SOPH Joe Cooley calmly led a Wisconsin drive in the 4th QTR with the crowd going crazy as he finishes the drive by hitting Brian Holt from 10 yards out to give the Badgers a 28-13 lead. But once again the Spartans wouldn't go away quietly as Reggie Mitchell plunged in from a yard out and with 2 point conversion to make it a 28-21 game. The Spartans tried a onside kick but it went out of bounds. The Badgers ran for a first down and with Cooley kneeling down 3 times and that was the ball game.
