Frustration in Blacksburg Hokies fall 34-22 to Cardinals The pains of switching offensive identities as well as poor recruiting in the past have finally swung full force in Blacksburg. The players, coaches, and fans have all been frustrated by the team's play over the past few weeks. The Hokies started the season with much promise, but have not looked the same since they played Cincinnati. Receivers are dropping passes, not getting off press coverage, and running routes incorrectly. The offensive line has had problems with the pass first scheme, but the running game has not been any better. When the Hokies aren't going three and out due to drops or sacks, they are turning the ball over. The defense has just looked lost since the second week of the season. Players are out of position, not reading their keys, and are certainly not tackling. The defense ranks at 96 in total yards given up and 108 in points per game. "We are just not playing good football right now. When one unit on the team does well, the other falters and our momentum and rhythm is gone. We've got to come together as a team to turn this around. I'm not giving up on these guys yet and neither should our fans. This is a tough transitional period for us, but we're going to get through it," stated Coach Droid after the game.

Maryland completely dominates the wolfpack in this one pitching a shutout on defense. The Terps only allowed 87 yards of offense and sacked the opposing QB NINE times as the line was like swiss cheese all game. Both Maryland HBs were close to the century mark and both scored 1 rushing TD. Maryland has a huge division matchup at home next week hosting the Hokies.

Colorado dominates Oregon as the Ducks continue to live in the past, when they had athletes and speed at the positions needed to run this offense. Colorado's offense had a failure of a drive that resulted in Oregon's only points of the game when the Buffaloes gave up a safety. Colorado does continue to struggle with their QB play though, both in pass protection and accuracy.
